When our good arrived at their destination, however, we found enormous damage had been done to many of our significant pieces. Inadequately wrapped art had been destroyed, a chest's wooden top arrived literally splintered, an antique book shelf's glass pane had been broken and a supporting leg had snapped off, our dining room table was scuffed and scratched, corners of wooden furniture had been crushed, veneers had been scraped off. This is not even a full accounting of what we found. We are distraught and baffled by the lack of respect reflected in this company's execution of our move.
We have relocated many times over the past twenty years, and have always expected some damage to pieces. And the moving companies have always taken responsibility for repairs. All My Sons, however, delivered a greater number of severely damaged items that we ever could have imagined. We are profoundly dissatisfied, and would steer other Louisvillians away from this group.
Estimator in Louisville Ky was very informative...answered all my questions. Gave me all the information I needed and assured me the move would be good and it was.
Both ends of the move {Louisville and Seneca} were excellent. Packing and Unpacking very quick and efficient. The driver of the moving truck arrived on time in Seneca SC.
My daughter and her family are also moving this summer and will use All My Sons Company
We did not have an estimator come out to assess our move (this option wasn't even offered on the phone when I scheduled). I only found out about an estimator after the day had gone awry and one of the movers blamed part of the poor experience on the fact that we didn't have an estimator. We were on the 3rd floor and had no large appliances. All of our items were properly boxed with the exception of some pictures (the guys even remarked they were excited to see how we had set everything up and thought it'd be an easy move upon their walkthrough). My husband and I had spent the entire previous day moving lamps, yard tools and other odd-shaped items so that the movers wouldn't have to worry about those items.
We were given a two hour window for their arrival to our apartment (between 8-10am) yet they arrived late and didn't start work until 10:40am. Being their first move for the day I was surprised they were already running behind.
We had 3 guys and 1 large truck arrive. The three gentlemen who arrived to our apartment were far from professional movers. They did a lot of shuffling. They'd move a box or piece of furniture from a room to the deck. Then they'd move it to the second floor. Then eventually it'd make it to the truck. No one would grab a box and just move it to the final destination. My husband was working alongside them to help them and was disappointed in their lack of motivation.
The movers then put all of the boxes in the truck, but didn't leave room for the furniture (bed, couch, kitchen table). So one guy spent nearly an hour rearranging everything they already put in the truck while the other 2 guys were upstairs arguing about how to carry out the dresser. They decided it'd be better to drag it on the wood floors scratching the side of it. They began dragging other furniture and I had to repeatedly ask them to pick things up as our items were getting damaged (and the floors). My husband finally asked all of the movers to talk and told him he expected more from them. He made them aware we were unhappy our items were getting damaged and that they were moving too slow. He figured it wouldn't be fair to tell their boss without discussing their performance with them first. They promised a better performance.
On the drive to the house we called the owner and informed him of the situation. The unload process was much better/quicker, however we were down to two movers and my husband since one of the movers was on the phone the entire time with management (which we understand, but it hindered the unloading process).
In the end we all hustled to just get it done. It took several more hours than it should have. My husband spoke with the owner who told us the price was going to be over $900. Thankfully he discounted our cost to $600, which we appreciated. We felt that was appropriate for the work, but the headaches and damaged furniture were just not worth it.
I received a call at 7:58am the morning of the scheduled move which was to begin at 8:00am. I was informed that there had been some problems getting their workers in and my move had been pushed back between 11:00am and 12:00pm. I called at 12:00pm and was informed again that my move was being pushed back to a 1:30 to 2:00pm move time. The truck showed up at 2:30pm and it was pretty much down hill from there.
I have had a week to ponder this over in my head because I have been so angry at the situation that I didn't think I could give a fair review until now. I have relocated 6 times in my lifetime and I have NEVER had this sort of experience before. The movers finally started loading the truck and informed my husband (he waited for their arrival at old address) that they were going to load the truck that day, but not deliver and unload it until the next morning. This was a move that I had scheduled WEEKS in advance. We were suppose to be in our new house by the late afternoon or early evening on 9/8 so we were blindsided with the fact that our truck was going to be loaded on the 8th, but not delivered until the 9th. During this whole mess, I was informed that I would be taken care of and compensated for my trouble with a discount on the moving service. Discount....well lets see, doesn't that mean your bill would go down???? No, not mine! I was informed by Chris that not only was I getting my stuff a day later, but that I was now being charged MORE. I agreed to one 26 foot truck and 3 guys at 119.00 per hour, but because they were so far behind on my move they were sending another truck and 2 more guys which I would have to pay 159.00 per hour for their services now. That's right, I had to pay because they totally messed up the entire move. Was it my fault their help didn't show up Monday morning? Was it my fault they didn't arrive until 2:30 in the afternoon for a job that was suppose to begin at 8:00am???? Was it my fault they had to send out extra manpower to make the move???? NO IT WAS NOT, but they wanted to charge me for it.
I don't believe I could have made the move any easier. Everything in my home was boxed and 98% was labeled with what room it should have been put in. Needless to say, I spent a great deal of time moving the boxes from one place to another because some of the workers could not speak or read English. I have never seen such unprofessionalism in my entire life! I can assure you of one thing and that is, I WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY to anyone! I question Angie's list to even allow this company to represent itself on her site and will be hard pressed to trust who is represented here.
On a final note, I have yet to unpack the boxes associated with my curio cabinet in my dining room. The reason I haven't unpacked them is for fear of what I know I will find. I can hear the glass move and rattle in one box, so I know there is something broke and I really do not want to know what that or those items are. Those items are precious and I should have moved them myself, but didn't this time and now I will pay the price for my mistake. PLEASE, think long and hard before you hire this mover and please, do not hesitate to contact me personally if you would like more detail, because there's certainly more share.

"(member name removed), I would like to address your recent complaint. You were only charged for 1 truck and 3 movers but you received 2 trucks and 5 movers. So your move was discounted cause you paid less for the crew and they got done a lot faster. If I would have sent out 3 men and 1 truck I would have had to push your move to the next day so I can get the right amount of people and trucks to your job. You were charged for 5.5 hours of labor and 1 hour of travel at the 3 man rate of $119 per hour. Also as per our first conversation I asked you how big your residence was. I asked if it was 1600 sq ft cause that is what was on my file and you said yes. I also asked if it was a 3 bedroom house and you said yes. Which it was not it was a 4 bedroom 3000 sq ft home instead. So I told you what I had going on that day and asked you if I could come out to you later and you said yes cause that will give you a little more time to get ready. you received 2 movers and 1 truck for free for 12.5 hours for this move over a 2 day period. You paid $1624 for the move. What you would have paid for this move was $2536.05 if you paid for what service was rendered. That is a savings of $912.05. In closing I would like to say it took 3 fully loaded 26ft truck loads and 2 days to complete this move."
I served 27 years in the military and moved 17 times while on active duty. I have moved an additional 10 times since retiring. Out of those 37 moves I would rate All My Sons Moving and Storage -Louisville among the top 3 movers
3 young men worked from 8 am until 4 pm and they ended the day with the same care and concern that they started the day. They
were personable, polite, professional and extremely careful/cautious with our belongings.
It was a newly built home we were moving into and they went out of their way to take care with the hardwood floors, rugs and walls.
"[Member name removed], I am very pleased that we provided you the best moving experience possible. If you ever need us in the future we will be here for you and your family."
The move from Hikes Point almost did not happen. They did not show up on Saturday as scheduled (they should have been there at 10:00). They called and said they would be there between one and four. When I called at three thirty, I was told they would be there between five and six. Finally I was told that they would not be able to make it. I asked about Sunday, they said
no problem they would be there between one and four. They did not show up on Sunday either. So I took a day off work and gave them a third chance with the foresight to start calling other movers if they had not appeared by nine. They did arrive as scheduled on Monday. This seems to be a common problem with this local affiliate.
I must mention the hidden costs they hit you with. We were quoted an hourly flat rate of $149 for the move from Cold Spring and $109 for the cross town move. They added on shrink wrap (I like that they used it and I did not mind paying for it but they should have been up front about it) and the real killer fuel charges. The fuel from Cold Spring was over $238 (almost five times what I spent for fuel on a similarly sized truck driven only 20 fewer miles than they traveled (if they counted travel both directions). The fuel for the local Louisville move was $54.45. Considering that the distance from
their location at 4422 Kiln Court, Louisville to Hikes Point in Louisville to our home off Brownsboro Road and then back to their lot was no more than 19.5 miles, I find that amount excessive. That would mean their truck gets less than 1.4 miles to the gallon of diesel. When I asked lead mover why so much, he answered that the office said the amount was based
upon Google Maps, which is what I also used.
On last thing, they load your items and then indicate that they will not unload them until you pay. This did not occur but the lead mover said that is how they usually conduct business.
