Mendel Roofing

Mendell Roofing was quick, efficient, clean and their estimate was competitive and fair. I had two layers of old roofing. They removed it all and replaced it with a new roof and they replaced my gutters. I am fully satisfied with the job they did and I would hire them again in the future.

They showed up a little early the day of the work and had it completed before I came home from work. Jamie came back to the house after I got home and went through an inspection of the work with me.

Everything went great. Jamie and his crew went above and beyond what was expected. He worked with my insurance adjuster to obtain full replacement value of the roof.

On the first problem area he came out, assessed the problem area and removed shingles down to the bare wood, applied the ice guard, installed new shingles. This solved the one area leak 100%. There was a second area that was still leaking.

Weather was an issue due to the cold, snow and ice. I understand that and was patient. He came out, looked at the second area and removed some shingles, replaced some and resealed. As the weather changed and we got rain the leak was still there. I went into the attic, measured where I saw the leak in the attic and measured on the outside wall to leak origin in order to help in locating the problem. Their worker measured where he saw the wall being wet and repaired that area which was approx. 2 or 3 feet further up the roof. I was able to show in the pictures where the water was leaking and running along the vinyl ceiling channels. I showed them that a second time. After the second attempt to find the leak the weather got bad again. So I waited again for the weather to break.

22 Feb 2014: I sent another email asking when we can get back to my roof and the answer I got was:

Not sure what plan of attack to take ? Tear out the whole valley or put a whole new roof over the existing shingles on entire front section . Any thoughts ?

I gave my thoughts and ideas on my response. He said he could not get back to me until later in the week ( weather got bad again) I waited until the weather got better to ask when he was going to come back and try again.

8 March 2014 I asked him to be back to me by the end of the week and he said I will call tomorrow. Never received and calls or emails.

The first part of my roof leak repair went very well, The last part did not.

I called another roofer and will not be using Mendall roofing for any future roofing work.

Provider went up on roof and found a paint can lid and debris lodged in gutter. He also found some missing slate shingles from roof along with some gaps around the chimney. Provider replaced missing slate shingles with some flashing and sealed up any gaps he saw with tar. Provider was very courteous as well as extremely thorough. He suggested that I have my gutters cleaned out twice a year. This is a service he also provides. Provider charged me $120, which I thought was very reasonable for what he had done.

I called Mr Mendall for an estimate to cover over an existing one layer roof on my ranch home. He was very prompt and set up a time that was convenient to meet with me and evaluate my roofing needs.
He replaced ridge cap, flashing, vent boxes and valley's etc. He communicates excellently and is very attentive to his customers. I would use him again without question and highly recommend his services.

They did a good job of coming out and explaining things so that I understood what was going on. They sent me the estimate in a timely manner. They were very conscientious about cleaning up. They were nice to work with. They also come on a routine basis to clean my gutters.
