I have been a customer at Midway for about a year and a half. In that time I have taken six different animals to see the doctors there, and have been extremely satisfied with most of my experience. The latest round of visits I made to Midway was for a new puppy I had gotten. He kept having stomach issues including bloody stool. In the end we ended up making four visits to the office, including one and quot;emergencyand quot; visit, and one visit where my puppy had to stay there two days for treatment. In that way, I've become very familiar with the different costs.
The $60 cost listed is an estimate of how a normal sick visit has ran for me. This includes the cost of examination is usually about $37, and the medicine I have been giving in the past usually starts at about $15. An after business hours or and quot;emergencyand quot; visit starts at $100. The cost for an overnight stay is about $20 per night. This is if your pet is sick and needs to be treated for a few days.
THE REASON I LOVE MIDWAY and would not take my pets anywhere else, is the amount of personal care and attention my pets have gotten with every visit. I know that the people working there, from the front desk, to the techs, to the vets, truly love animals. And I know that they do everything they can to make my animals well. No matter which animal I have brought in, everyone always dotes and loves on them like they are the best animal there. Dr. Mullins especially does this when he is the one examining my animals. The vets always listen carefully to what I have to say, any questions/concerns I may come up with, and do a thorough examination of my animals. The times they have had to keep my pet overnight, they are very kind to let you check in on your pet and give you updates often. I know that they care about my pets. During one overnight stay, Dr. Mullins noticed that my puppy was looking very down, which worried him. He knew part of him getting better would be my pup being in good spirits. So he asked one of the workers to just sit with him for awhile and give him attention, petting and loving on him. This was all it took to get my puppy back in good spirits. This meant the world to me. My puppy was fighting PARVO, which can be killer disease for dogs, and I know that him being depressed could have been the difference between him getting better, or dying. So that Dr. Mullins was paying enough attention to notice this, and cared enough to give him the personal care he needed, meant a lot. The clinic also went above and beyond after the string of visits I took my puppy on. After the four visits, the cost had piled up. Especially with the emergency visit, and his PARVO treatment. So when I took him back for his follow up visit, the office comped my visit. Without me even saying a word about how expensive treating my puppy had been, or anything. They just did it! I also lost a guinea pig that they were treating for an upper respiratory infection. Once they found out that she had passed, I got a grief card in the mail signed by their staff. It impressed me that they took the time to do this with everything else they have going on.
These little gestures really sealed the deal for me that they care, and I won't be going anywhere else!
I would be wrong to say there aren't any downsides to Midway. They have A LOT of clients. So sometimes I have had trouble getting through on their phone line, or have had to wait in a line of four or five people to check in or out. I've also had one or two visits where I waited at least minutes to get to the exam room, and then another 15 or so to see the vet. That can be annoying. But I do know this has to do with the large amount of business they carry, considering that these incidences have always been when there are a lot of other people there. However, I have never had a problem getting an appointment when I needed one.

Lied lied lied lied some more....
My puppy had a broken femur. Patti Prather kept him over night, could not see me until late the next day, then procecced to explain she could not set bone. Told me we have to go to university of tennessee veterinary hospital, that no one would be in until Monday. Kept my dog all weekend. Stressed to bring cash, bring cash, bring cash for her payment. I paid the cash with a dog on 3 legs, in pain and scared. Off to university of tennessee we went, only to be questioned why I left my dog in pain all weekend when university of tennessee has 27/7 emergency service and my vet was told about the service. Finally I was billed months later by Patti Prather stating I never paid for her services, I called, many times to no avail. A few months later e account was turned over to collect service, I REFUSED TO PAY! She is the biggest crook, uncaring, should lose her license to practice! RUN RUN RUN FAST AS YOU CAN!

Veterinarians, Animal Boarding Kennels
They operate 24 hours a day. They have a number of vets that are there Monday through Saturday. You can always request certain vets but every vet we've met has been great. They are reasonably priced and give great advice. Very clean facilities. They do boarding. Dr. Hutchson is the vet that I typically see. She is very calm and that has a great affect on my dogs. She is excellent.

Our Great Pyrenees developed a hot spot on his neck under his collar. It was 4th of July weekend. I called and they said to bring him in. They had to shave his neck and clean the wound. They also checked his ears and clipped his nails while we were there.

I was pleased with the easy go get the appointment and getting seen at the time within 10 minutes. The attendant and doctor were both great with my dog.

This is one of the best veterinary clinics I have ever used. I have had numerous cats and dogs over the years and I have used this place for the last decade. They've handled everything from well-visit check-ups and shots to horrible terminal illnesses. They've always been nothing but professional and guinely caring. Well-visit check-ups are very thorough. I truly feel that my pets could not receive better care anywhere else. Their compassion abounds. ** I use Dr. Mullins but have seen other vets there and they're all good **
