Distinct Renovations

Jim and his crew are the BEST!!!  We had literally our entire house renovated and restored, with the exception of two bedrooms and one bathroom.  Distinct Renovations was one of the two general contractors we had on the project.  They did the entire kitchen and one bathroom, plus a LOT of other work throughout the interior and exterior of the house.  Jim worked very closely with us the entire time (nearly 6 months) and was so patient and good-natured about my endless phone calls and emails.  He solved a lot of issues our 90-year-old house had, always willing to be open to new ideas for ways to solve problems.  He totally understood our desire to keep as much of the original house materials as possible.  His crew carefully removed door and window frames and wood trim, and put them back exactly as they were.  It looked like a jigsaw puzzle, but they knew what they were doing!  Jim even built a perfect replica of my 1924 built-in medicine cabinet after the original one fell apart when they removed it (not their fault, the wood was rotted).  I honestly can't tell the difference between the two.
Jim and his crew did so many great things for us, I can't begin to list them all.  The project did take a LOT longer than the original estimate (2 months eventually became 6 months), but a lot of that was due to subcontractors and other companies that were working on the project.  And there were a lot of unforeseen problems that came up as the work went along, which is not unusual in an old house.  Jim's work is top-quality, and he doesn't settle for anything less than the best for his customers.

The owner was so responsive. I have the highest regard for them so I would definitely use them again. They were recommended by a plumber. I think they were perfectly fine as far as pricing. It was competitive I would say.

He was excellent. He came when he said he would. They worked all day. They covered the vents to prevent a mess. He was very tentative about having it done right. We had no problem what so ever.
