The new unit worked fine for almost exzctly 2 years but then it quit cooling, we called Micheal at Air Medic to come out to look at it since it was under warranty, so we thought. After calling him several time he finally got back to us and showed up to look at it but it was getting too dark to see what the problem was so he just added Freon because it was low and said he would be back the next day to see why it had lost the coolant. He did not return the next day so we started calling him again, after many calls he finally showed up and said that there was s faulty part that broke and had to be replaced. Heevacuated the Freon from the unit and replaced the part, recharged the unit and it started cooling right away. He then handed us a bill for $487.00. We questioned him as to why we had to pay it since the unit was still under warranty, he then informed us that the wonderful 10 year warranty he so proudly talked up when he sold us the unit, only covered parts, not labor or materials. He told us we should take it up with Goodman if we weren't happy and promised us he would write a letter explaining that it was a defective part that caused th leak and failure to perform. we never received the letter so we called him repeatedly, not less than 100 times, with still no response, We contacted Goodman with our complaint directly and they, in not so many word, told us to go away and not bother them because they were not resposible for anything except the part, not even the postage to send if need be, and we should have read the warranty before we bothered them. Well not having been given a copy of the warranty before the unit was installed we had no way of knowing just how worthless it was. End result, we ended up paying to fix something that should not have gone wrong in the first place.
