Absolutely unacceptable. After trying nearly every mattress in the store.we purchased a Tempurpedic mattress and boxes. Once we discovered that this was not a suitable mattress we returned and tried mattresses in the store again as well as at competitors. We discovered a suitable mattress which was also carried at the competitor at a price considerably less than Sleep Outfitters. When I visited the store to arrange for a return I waited patiently for the manager to finish working with another customer. He tried to arrange for me to work with someone at another store to shorten my wait but that person refused to do so. I then left and returned another day. When I told him that I wanted to return the bed he told me that "You win, you just took eight hours of my life." while he began processing the return. When he asked, I told him that I had purchased a set from the competitor and which bed it was. He asked why I didn't give him a chance on that bed I told him that he had quoted a price on the bed when we were in there originally and he argued with me telling me that we had not tried that bed so he couldn't have. The restocking fee was $150 on which they charged tax (there is some doubt that this tax was appropriate under the sales tax rules listed on the state website). Ultimately, I was granted $35 of the $300 downpayment I made. Even this amount was not being credited to my credit card and, after several calls to the store to complain and being told that they would take care of it, I called the main office myself and arranged for the credit. I was told by them that the store had not provided them with the information they needed to make the credit. I have no reason to doubt that as the credit showed up on my account one day later. I will not do business with this store or with this company again and will recommend that others do not. Even with the costs involved with returning the bed I saved enough on the new one to still be ahead of where I would be had I purchased from them again.
