Steve Hagan, of  Ky Hometown Builders, provided a poor service.  He sent subcontacters that did a poor job. The dry wall subcontractor, Martin Drywall, did a poor job overall.  They had no respect for our home, did not cover the doors to prevent drywall dust entering every room in our home.  There was a thick coating of drywall dust on everything we owned.  We provided floor protection which he took up hours before he completed the job, leaving our carpet and hardwood in poor shape.  The drywall on the ceilings has obvious "humps" in it in many places.  We have complained about it from the day we saw it...someone was sent back to work on it several times...but. it continues to look bad.  Steve Hagan was to have returned to finish the job which he never did.  After 3 months, several no shows, I asked Steve to, at least, return our house keys and return $550.00 (amount we had overpaid).  He came by my office one night with our keys, a check for $375.00, and a "final settlement" statement.  He said I had to sign off on the "final settlement" paperwork before he would return our money. He had added charges we've never heard of, and went on to say he had completed the job at our home. When I didn't sign the statement, he demanded the check back.  When I didn't return it, he threatened to stop payment on the check.  This was our money that he had held for three months!
