Contacted them to do service call to find why my 9 year old, 3 ton units "A" coil was freezing over. I had a pretty good idea that that the system was a little low on refrigerant by the symptoms I was having. The repairman arrived within the allotted time given to me, so an A+ on their promptness. I am not completely ignorant in the HVAC field, but I didn't tell him that. I have learned that keeping things like that to myself is to my advantage. The first thing the repairman did was check the pressures, which is the normal thing any good repairman will do. The first words out of his mouth was, "Your system has a leak, so you're going to need a new unit". When I asked why, he said my unit held 13 plus pounds of R22, and that it was 7 to 9 pounds low of R22 refrigerant and that would cost roughly $900.00. I told him I had the outdoor unit moved last year due to an addition added on to my house and that the schrader valve was leaking then, but the company moving it just replaced the dust cap and checked it for leaks, saying it would be fine as long as the cover cap wasn't leaking. This was the main reason for not letting that company anywhere near it this time, as well as another incident on a different unit. I asked him about my other options such as finding and repairing the leak. He said that was an extra cost of over a hundred something dollars to use a leak detector, with no guarantees of finding it. He just kept emphasizing the high cost of repair verses replacement, and the pushing the sale of a new unit, going as far as calling his boss for a price right then for a quote. Never once did he mention any other options to me, or tell me that R22 was in the final stages of being phased out, and the system could be purged and refilled with R410A as a replacement refrigerant at a quarter of the cost of the R22. I did not call them to replace my unit, I called them to repair what I had. Maybe I should have parked my vehicles out of sight when he came, because I think because of that he saw me an easy sale. During the whole fifteen minutes of the service call ten minutes of it was him trying to make a sale of a new unit. I know there are cases where repair is not the best option, and I have replaced units when the remaining life expectancy of the system doesn't make economical sense to repair. but this was not one of them. My unit has been well maintained and should easily be good for at least another ten years with proper care. This repairman's tactics cost his employer more than they know, because I have a business and properties besides my residence with all of them needing regular maintenance and repairs. If they had played their cards right they might have gained my trust and a considerable account over time. The advise I would give them is this. Try to set your sights on a long term partnership with people, and not the short term quick cash.

I spoke with them about a furnace agreement. They wanted $159 for each furnace and I have two. I've seen other companies offer cheaper. They didn't seem interested in discussing it.

Great service!  From the initial contact through the entire process, everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and professional.  The response time was incredible...like 45 minutes.  When the team arrived, they went straight to work and identified the problem and resolved it very quickly.
Thanks!   I will use them again!

First, we used Jones in 2005 to install a Heat Pump and Furnace to replace one of our two systems. We have been satisfied with that system, and that's why we contacted them for a service call on our other system. The serviceman came out as scheduled and gave us the report that we needed a new system. We suspected we did, since our old system is at least 28 years old. They charged us $65 for the service call and promised that the owner would contact us for a consultation and estimate to replace our system. Never received a call. Called them and left a message. Never heard back. That has been two full weeks today. We are greatly disappointed in their lack of professionalism and customer service. Very disappointing, and puzzling.

I interviewed 4 companies but I was very impressed with Terry Hatfield the consultant. he was very professional and on time. He also took the time to answer all my questions. The workers were great and cleaned up after. (I don't remember their names) I would highly recommend them. I also purchased Joneses company warranty that covers all labor for 10 years that runs with the Trane Warranty at a price I couldn't afford to pass up. Can't beat that! I also read all the reviews I could find on the Trane unit we purchased and have been very satisfied. I just called to schedule a winter check up before turning the heat on this year, they could have sent some one out tomorrow. Impressed all the way around with this company.

This home is somewhat unusual in that it is old enough to have thick solid brick walls with no cavities in which to run linesets, conduits, etc. This sometimes poses a problem for people who don't understand this type of construction and how to approach it... Jones' estimates were fair, and more importantly, their first price was the real price while others providing estimates gave prices that they were and quot;willing to come down from, and quot; a waste of time for the customer (and probably the businesses, too).
After choosing the right units, they took the time to understand how I wanted the final job to appear outside and inside and even brought out a Mitsubishi rep to provide some insights. Steve Jones was excellent at coordinating the work with the customer - so many businesses fall short in this area, but he made sure I knew when his technicians would be here and if scheduling problems arose he never failed to give me a heads up.
Having done some of this kind of work in the past, I am always a little concerned about the skills and attitude of the technicians who show up to do the job. I needn't have been concerned - Thomas and Kevin did both jobs and did them in a professional manner, from start to finish. They did their work in such a way that not only was the technical execution of the job accomplished correctly, but they also took pride in their work in such small details as mounting their outside electrical boxes neatly and running the outside line covers straight and keeping the whole installation as unobtrusive as possible. Frankly, that's not always easy, and it's where many contractors fall on their face. Thomas spent the extra time to do it right and I genuinely appreciated the quality of the work.
Thomas also ran the gas lines later and did a great job, right down to covering the outside installation and hiding it from view. Running black iron pipe, building up manifolds, and making swing joints is not easy which I assume is why a lot of people have switched to flexible gas line. Making a black iron pipe come out exactly where you intended, within an inch or so, inside a structure is not that easy, but Thomas makes it look that way.
I enjoyed working with these guys - they really do fine work and it shows.

They did a very good job. I had to order a new part. They told me that they would call me as soon as it came in and they called me. They came right on that and put it on. They did everything that I expected them to do. They are very busy and so, it takes a while to make an appointment. Their price was reasonable. They were immediate in responding when the part came in.

The technician arrived as scheduled. He tested the indoor units first and cleaned the filters. He then tested the outdoor units. He checked the freon levels and cleaned the coils. He took his time and did a good job. He walked through the house and tested air temperature and air flow.

I spent around $5600, including the units and labor. They were hard workers. I was going to have them put in some circulation vents. They did additional work. Also, it was in the contract that they were responsible for drywall repairs. I will use them again in the future.

Dealt with David Jones, found him to be true to his word. He was willing to listen and address all concerns prior to beginning the job. He finished the installation by the agreed date. We are using him to install a new unit at our home.

Wonderful job and work. Very courteous and professional. Price paid for system and install was exactly what was quoted. They were upfront with pricing and gave multiple options of systems to meet our needs and budget. There was no hard sell either. Considering the amount of labor involved, I think we paid a fair price for the work. We also live 28 miles from their office, and they did not charge extra for mileage/travel. Additionally, I called to have our system maintained this spring and they came out promptly for this. I expected to pay for the service, but they stated that this first visit was free as stated in our contract. I'll be signing up with their maintenance service.
