Springdale Automotive (Prospect)

I have used Springdale for close to 9 years for several vehicles. I have always been a satisfied customer. They are a bit more expensive than the small neighborhood shop but are thorough and dependable. This time was no different.

I never have any issues with them. It's done right the first time. I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off. They actually tell you. They let me know if it's not ready. I would absolutely use them again.

They do good work but they're expensive. They diagonalized a problem that the other repair people had messed so I think they do a very good job. They did the work on time.

It was terrific. They are prompt, courteous, and professional. Their prices are reasonable. They are close. I don't have to wait long.

My service light came on in my car saying I need to service the ride control. I honestly didn't even know what this was! I have owned this car since purchasing in new in 2004 and have 170,000 miles on it. It has been a great car and I have put very little money in to it. I was told they were unable to find the source of the problem and had to go through an extensive checklist from the manufacturer to find the problem. Day 2, they were able to find the problem but needed another day. Day 3 I was told it would be $1200 to fix it and it would be ready the next day. Day 3, I call to see if it is ready and they then tell me I need a new compressor to complete the job. Total is over $1700. I thought this was very expensive and I was not given any options as to perhaps finding a salvage part or something to lower the cost, given the age and mileage of this car. I have used this company for my auto service needs for many years and generally had great experiences. I just felt like I was charged an excessive amount of money and maybe it is because they had so many man hours involved to find the source of the problem to begin with.

I called around to get 4 new Bridgestone Potenza all-season run-flat tires installed on my car. No local tire installers carry run-flat tire in stock. Brian Polston at Springdale's Hwy 42/Prospect, KY location was an absolute professional. He was eager to earn my business and ordered the tires the day I called about them. They were delivered the next day and installed without incident in a professional manner the same day. They made it easy for me to get back and forth from my home to their store with free shuttle service with a courteous driver with great cell-phone manners. He did not take personal calls while I was in the car with him. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend them to others.

It was a very negative experience for us. It was way overpriced. When they first opened up, we were really happy that a garage opened up in this part of town because there aren’t any. They were very helpful and very courteous and seemed to be thankful that people were actually patronizing their place. However, something changed and their prices went through the roof. When I went and talked to them, they told me one thing, and when my wife went and talked to them, they gave her a story and jacked the price up to the roof, which is not an uncommon phenomenon when women go in. It has happened to my mom. It has happened to my sister. It has happened to my wife now. They essentially sold my wife on something that she didn’t need, and it was way overpriced. So, we were very dissatisfied with their service.

My car needed to have the sockets for the headlights changed......when returned to pick up the car, the battery was dead. The mechanic was called out to investigate and stated that he had left the lights on after fixing the car. He came out with a charger and was able to start the car. The following morning while driving the car the "check engine" light came on and the car began to stall. I returned to Springdale Auto and they said it would be a 88 dollar fee to diagnose. They called me later that day and said that the throttle bodies were dirty and needed to be cleaned....For another 300 dollars. They did the work...car still stalls and check engine light remains. I called them back and they want to charge another diagnostic fee. I understand my car is 8years old but I feel that I was taken advantage of.

I have a fleet vehicle so they do all of my regular maintenance. They are very friendly to work with. I am usually able to bring my car in the next day and they look at it that day. My husband uses them all the time for his trucks. I will use them again in the future. The service is very good.

I moved here a year ago and finding an auto guy is always tricky. I have been very happy with the guys at Springdale. I don't feel like they are trying find things wrong with the car and sell me stuff I don't need. They have been very honest (even telling me things don't need to be fixed that I thought would be). Highly recommend.
