My experience with them was fine, good. They had a lot of different things to offer. The staff was good. I don’t go there anymore because I moved.

I have paid a yearly membership of $420 for myself and $420 for my handicapped son to Energy Fitness Midtown for years. I have taken water aerobics classes and have used the weight machines. In mid-December 2011 we were notified by letter that Energy Fitness management will close the pool effective 1/31/12 and will reduce the hours. The only facilities available after 1/31/12 will be the cardio equipment and the racquetball courts. On 12/19/11 I mailed a certified letter to the owner of Energy Fitness terminating my membership effective 1/31/12 and requesting a refund for nine months' membership for myself and 5 months' membership for my son. There has been no reply other than the card indicating that the letter was received. I have not received a refund. Last year, my credit card was charged twice for yearly membership and the management fought my efforts to get a refund for the double charges.
In the meantime the women's locker room is being dismantled: lockers removed, coat rack removed, benches removed. The comfort, safety and well-being of paying customers is being ignored. The locker room is filthy. The shower curtains are moldy. The pool area is filthy. Customers who have paid good money for the services are being treated badly and cheated of decent service. While the management is remodeling to accommodate the closing of part of the building, current users of the facility are being treated badly.
