Was very pleased with the quality of work!  Was most impressed with the operation of the trackhoe...  Was like watching an artist paint!!  Also appreciated the fact that the work area was left very clean upon completion!!!
Response from Ducky's Excavating

There was a wet spot in our front yard, about where the gray water drain line from our kitchen sink, washing machine and dishwasher should be.  A little spade work disclosed that the gray water line was not running into the leach bed as it should.  it appeared that this had been going on for years.  There was a lot of mud in that hole.
Donny Owens, Jr, the owner, arrived with his crew at the agreed time.
Donny said that a load of gravel was scheduled to arrive in an hour and he didn't want to delay the gravel truck.  Therefore, the trench for the new drain pipe and the pit for the dry well had to be ready before the gravel truck arrived.  It worked out just as Donny predicted.  He was digging the pit just as the gravel arrived.  He directed the truck driver to spread about 6 tons of gravel on our parking apron to reinforce it for the heavy equipment driving over it.  He had the driver leave another 6 tons in a pile near the work site.
Donny laid a bed of gravel in the trench and the dry well.  The crew installed about 40 feet of pierced drain pipe in the trench.  Donny filled the trench with the remaining gravel and covered the trench with dirt.  He left the dirt mounded so it will end up level when the dirt settles.
The whole project took less than two hours.  Donny said the hardest part of the project was in getting to us.   We live WAY back in the woods.  At one place the grade is so steep the crew had to unload the backhoe off the trailer, drive the truck to the top  of the hill, drive the backhoe up the grade, then reload on the trailer.
Donny and his crew cleaned up the work site thoroughly.  OK, they couldn't do much about the mud.
It was a joy to watch these guys at work.  Donny is an artist with the backhoe. The crew acted like they enjoyed what they were doing.  Ducky's business card says, "We dig dirt !!!"  I think they mean it.
We will definitely call Ducky's if we need more excavation.
