 + -1 moreThey tore out and disposed of estimated 500 ft. of old cedar fence. They dug up all of the corner posts and cut off all the other posts below ground. They replaced with 6ft. tall dog ear Premium red cedar boards and Rough sawn 2x4x8ft cedar stringers. All posts were installed in concrete. The work crew was excellent and I would highly recommend!! I went with the cedar because the last cedar fence they replaced lasted 30 years. I am very pleased with the quality of materials used. Absolutely love the look of our new fence!
Description of Work: We needed 500 feet of privacy fence with gate taken down and replaced with new one.

 + -1 moreOnce they got started in the fence it went very smooth. They are a small group, so they were backed up over the summer. But they kept us updated as time got closer and minimized the time we were without a fence because we have dogs. We have a double gate on one side and a walk through on the other side. They also brought a stump grinder to take care of some small trees in the fence line. They also suggested a man they had worked with in the past to do our deck, and he was awesome as well.

Description of Work: They installed approximately 350' of four board horse fencing with no-climb heavy gauge wire backing at my house. My house has a 30-degree slope in one area which necessitated a custom installation by a good contractor. | |The owner came to my house after working hours to meet with me and put together a quote. The original quote seemed high until I got another quote that was of the same magnitude from another local contractor. I called them back about a month later and scheduled the start date and paid the downpayment. They got a late start on the project due to another job with weather delays, which bothered me a bit. They didn't contact me to let me know they wouldn't be starting on time, so I had taken off work that day for no reason. They were apologetic and nice, which was much appreciated. | |They started out with a full crew of very experienced installers and worked diligently. I had hoped to have the fence secured by 4th of July weekend. When they realized they couldn't get it completed in time, they called and asked if I would be okay with them securing the fence with wire in place so I could let my dog out over the weekend. I took them up on the offer and they did a very good job of it. | |I have since gotten many compliments on how good the fence looks and I am also quite pleased with the results. I paid for the upgrade to pressure-treated poplar, which has a very long lifespan (30+ years) without having to paint it every 3-5 years. | |In the end, they probably weren't the cheapest, but they were most definitely the best. You get what you pay for here. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing a fence installed.

 + -1 moreMy husband and I are reaching that age when, for safety of ourselves and friends, we feel it is time to add a railing to our outside steps. I called S & T Watkins fencing and made an appointment for their person to come out to look at our sidewalk and steps situation. Mr. Walker was prompt and very polite and competent in his business. He showed us samples of railings that could be installed, explained the differences and said he would email us with estimates of expenses. He was prompt with his email. After comparing his expenses with others for similar products, I feel that his estimate is fair. When the weather gets a little sunnier, we will probably be contacting him to have the rails installed.
Description of Work: Ellis Walker came out to look at our steps in order to see what could be done to make them safer for us and elderly friends to use.

 + -1 moreI obtained four bids (including a "ballpark" store estimate at an home improvement store), ranging from $550 to $1,000 (low bids were done without anyone coming out to the property). S & T Fencing did come out and they didn't waste my time. They could have tried to sell me something "prettier" (I had been thinking of vinyl or aluminum); instead, they discussed my needs and budget, looked at the other fences around me and in a down-to-earth style recommended chain link. There was a little bit of lag time between installing the poles and putting up the gates and fencing. The end result is sturdy and attractive. S & T Fencing was unfailingly polite and returned all calls quickly. I appreciated getting both the bid and invoice by email.
Description of Work: Installed 25 feet of 4-foot high chain link fence, including a double gate, single gate, and small welded panel. Basically, neighbors on three sides already had fences, and I was just finishing off the span to my house in order to contain a dog.

 + -1 moreHAD PREVIOUS FENCE INSTALLED AND REMOVED BY ANOTHER FENCE COMPANY DUE TO VERY UNPROFESSIONAL WORK. THE OTHER FENCE COMPANY DECLINED TO FIX THE PROBLEM, SO I SOUGHT OTHER BIDS. WATKINS DID A PHENOMENAL JOB. THEIR BID WAS VERY REASONABLE, THEY INSTALLED THE FENCE IN A TIMELY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER. THE FENCE IS FABULOUS! IT IS EXACTLY AS I HOPED IT WOULD BE. THE BOARDS THEY USED ARE EXTREMELY CLEAR FOR TREATED PINE. BOARDS ARE LEVEL TOP TO BOTTOM.
Description of Work: INSTALL APPROX. 33 LF OF 1 X 6 X 6 FT. TALL DOG EAR TREATED PINE PRIVACY FENCE WITH TREATED PINE POSTS AND RUNNERS.
