The owner, Jim Smith, was a pleasure to work with. He spent a lot of time discussing our plans and figuring out how to make it all work and stay within our budget. He is very creative and has an excellent sense of design. At the same time he is a craftsman that does things the right way.
The work started on schedule and went very well. Jim kept the project moving, there really wasn't any more than a day or two of down time. It took about 8 weeks in all. The carpenters that did most of the work - Bob and Denzel - were great. They are exceptional craftsman and also very nice men that we enjoyed having around. Jim came by at least once a day, every day to check on things, answer questions and so forth. He was very engaged in the project.
We had a couple things go wrong, which you have to expect on a big project. But they made everything right promptly.
We love the custom cabinets, we were going to go with IKEA cabinets decided to go have Showplace build them custom. It didn't cost that much more, but it made all the difference to have exactly what we wanted.
We think our new kitchen is stunning and we get a lot of compliments about it. We couldn't be happier with it, exactly what we wanted, on time and on budget.
