MILES RIGGS ELECTRIC CO

I originally received quotes from several electricians in August 2011.  On Nov 15th I contacted Miles Riggs to perform the work quoted on my house.  He said that he would perform the work on Nov. 18th but needed a 50% deposit to purchase the supplies.   I agreed and he then promptly came to my house at 7:30 in the morning on Nov. 17th to collect the check for $650 which was the agreed upon time.  He contacted me later that day and said that the supplier did not have the part in stock and it would be shipped from Corydon.  So He did not show up on the 18th to perform work.  He called the night of the 18th and we agreed that he would show up on Saturday Nov. 19th at 9:00am to perform the work.   He then called Saturday morning and said that he was getting brakes on his vehicle and was not able to come to perform the work.  I tried to get him to come out on Nov. 21, and Nov 22.  After refusing to come out and perform the work on which I had paid a deposit I told him that I would like a refund.  He has refused to pay me a refund of my deposit. 

I really told my story in the above. I realise now I contacted him through service master. He had very high marks there. Seems he must have matured or is more experienced now because I am picky and Miles met all my expectations.

Miles Riggs lacks integrity in his work and how he conducts himself. He had delayed the job by weeks. He quoted us a job which was industry standard and then he inflated the price by an additional $20,000. He charged us double for the basement work! He has threatened us/coercing us to pay him a higher price which is way above industry standard or he will put a lien on the house which would delay further delay of construction draws. We used him once before on minor work and we questioned with his price. He then threatened to put a lien on the house we were trying to sell. We ended up paying it to avoid issues with sale of house and it was minor $'s. Unfortunately, we gave him the benefit of the doubt again on the new build. WE HAVE MADE A GRAVE MISTAKE USING HIM AGAIN. Buyer Beware. He does dirty business and threatens if higher price is not paid. He is far from a christian man.

It went horrible, he is very confrontational. Miserable experience. Shows up when he wants. He quoted a job and then wanted more money. His work and his helpers damaged siding, cut holes too large. Used cheap materials, had a kid helping to run wires and was paid for a professional job. He put us behind, took weeks to get done what other contractors could do in a week or two. I would never never use this guy and believe he should not be allowed to do electrical work. Oh, and he wants cash. Uncle Sam has been told.
