Horrible responsesiveness. 6 month job not completed in 2 years. Ended up having to hire a lawyer. Code violations galore. Recommend you find another builder.

It was suppose to be a one week job and it took 7 weeks to finish. I called about the gutters leaking and just received excuses why they wouldn't come out. They also put a roof and they sent out a crew that didn't even speak English, so I couldn't even communicate with them. It was sloppy, unsupervised work.

They did remove the tree and they did replace the roof. It is now several years later and after 6 attempts to fix the roof that they put on it is still leaking and we now have several thousand dollars worth of water damage to the ceilings and walls inside the house. This company will not stand behind their work and has no insurance to place a claim with for the damage they cause. They used our wheel barrels and broke them and the workers use cuss words in every sentence when talking.

A&D Contracting signed a contract with me to replace the roof, remove the electrical service going from the house to the garage, wrap the soffits and eves and replace the gutters and down spouts on my rental house in Shelbyville, KY. One and a half months after the work was to be completed according to the contract they started to replace the shingles on the roof of the house using the old drip edge which should have been replaced. Two weeks later they cut the Electrical lines going from the house to the garage and put wire nuts on the ends of the wires then shoved them into the attic/crawl space of the house without a listened electrician , leaving the house with a dangerous fire hazard. Then covered it up with the flashing on the eves of the house.  The flashing and siding on the house was bent and installed wrong leaving gaps of exposed wood as much as 1 to 2 inches in places. The Aluminum was bent, scratched and dirty in many places. The gutters were bent and warped and the end caps were put on the gutters crooked. The down spouts were crimped in such a way that they leak. This took them 3 days of 2 weeks to complete. In this time I left Mr. Decker numerous voice mails asking him to call me because I was not at all happy with the work his crew was doing at the house. Finally I used a friend’s cell phone to call Mr. Decker he answered the first time and I told him that he needed to get to Shelbyville and get the mess that they had made of that house fixed right.  I was not at all happy with the work that they were doing.  On the second week of them working on the trim Mr. Decker had his crew rush to finish the job leaving a mess of scrap metal, sawdust, and nails in the garage and driveway. The work done on the siding and gutters looks awful and the trim on the rear window on the house was damaged by his work crew as well.   I had to call in a building inspector to look at the work that was done by A&D Contracting the building inspector had me bring in a licensed electrician. They both said that the removal of the electrical service to the garage was not done to code and created a fire hazard; this had to be fixed immediately.  Mr. Decker left me a voice mail saying that he couldn’t do a better job because he was covering rotten wood. It wasn’t fair for him to pay an electrician and besides he couldn’t find one. The electrical work was clearly mentioned in the contract. His job was done and he demanded the balance ($2500) be paid to him immediately. I called him back and told him the work was not acceptable. His response was I’ll see you in court. I responded  I’ll be happy to see you there!

They are a very reputable company, and did everything around our schedule. The cleanup was excellent and everything was done as promised. I was even given the flexibility to make last minute changes. The workers were very courteous. This company was even so kind to give us a contact to install our garage door opener.

THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THEY WERE ON TIME AND NEVER COMPLAINED ABOUT THE DESIGN WE WANTED. THE GUY BROUGHT MY RECEIPT, WHICH I REQUESTED BECAUSE WE HAD TO PAY IN ADVANCE, AND I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT I GOT EVERYTHING I HAD PAID FOR. THEY WERE COMPLETELY ACCOMMODATING AS TO THE DATE THAT THEY WOULD COME, AND I APPRECIATED THAT.
