I was staggered at these comments. Rather petulantly, he also suggested he could simply take the doors away and we could owe him nothing. I bit my lip at his offer and tried to act in a more adult fashion than he was. After the weekend I wrote & stated I would not accept the doors as they were. He would have to redo them again. With a little more level-headedness on his part, this is what he eventually agreed to do. The actual job was eventually finished to our satisfaction, but he has since refused to supply us with a job completion statement, ignoring all reminders and attempts at contact. What skills Mr. Vance possesses are somewhat undermined by his unprofessional approach to customer service and apparent inability to deal with problems in a manner expected from a skilled tradesman. A most disappointing experience for our major remodeling expense for 2006. Note: This is a severely edited report to comply with Angie's List's 1000 character limit.
