I would never recommend Yates Electric to my worst enemy! The quote I received was $2000 less than the final bill. There was a change made to the original order but no change in cost was ever discussed. When I asked the owner why the over 34% increase wasn’t discussed he said he told my husband, which he didn’t. Then proceeded to gaslight me by saying that he has been in business for 30 years and I changes to bills are to be expected. I told him I’d be happy to pay the original quote but not the charges that were never approved. He then sent me his lawyers contact info. If he had told me about the $2000 increase I would have told him we didn’t need his services. Mark Yates continually bad mouthed other contractors we were working for and was extremely unprofessional. Working with Yates Electric was a headache from getting a quote to the final payment.

Thank you to Mark and Denise for helping get our house to closing. My husband and I recently sold our home of 17 years. The inspection found a couple of electrical issues that needed to be corrected. Due to Covid the repairs could not be completed prior to closing. Having know Mark and Denise for over 30 years I knew for certain that I could trust them to allow us to pay for the corrections in full prior to the repairs being completed. How many contractors can you trust to perform the repairs AFTER being paid in full in advance? Not many, but Yates Electric is one of those companies that can be trusted. We paid Yates Electric by check. Mark provided us with a receipt to provide to the buyers. One week after closing Mark made the repairs to the complete satisfaction of the buyers. Yates Electric is honest and trustworthy. They do the job right the first time. I highly recommend Yates Electric.

Mark Yates and Denise came out personally and I really appreciated that. They look at my entire electrical system and not only help me get some circuits back on but also called back a few hours later to follow up and make sure everything was working well. 
I think Yates Electric is fantastic and I would not use anyone else.

Everything was completed to satisfaction and budget.

We had our stove stopped working and decided to buy a new one;when we had installed it it didn't work.We went to Angie's list and found Mark . He seemed resonable enough and from previous reviews;So we gave him a call;we exspained what was happening and thought that we needed his services and to our surprise he told us how to fix it our selves.He exspained that in older circute boards the switches hang and show on when off and to flick it on /off several times and it should work and to our surprise it did ! The fact that he didn't take advantage of us was a pleasent surprise and not seen much these days . If I need any work done in the future you can bet I'll call Mark..Thank's Yates Electic we appriciate your service !

Work went quickly. But wasn't really a two person job. However it might have taken longer with just one person.

Mark and another electrician arrived on time and quickly went to work. They were hanging a chandelier into an existing recessed light fixture. After they arrived they discovered the recessed light fixture was low voltage. Additional hardware needed to be installed in order to hang the chandelier. They needed to make a trip to get additional supplies. They were fine with needing to go and get extra supplies and did not get upset over the complication. They completed the job in a very timely manner. Their work was very professional and neat and they cleaned up any debris made doing the install. Very satisfied.

My home blew what I thought was several breakers with power going out in 22 rooms + hallway. I called the office on Thursday and the woman who anwsered was professional, friendly and told me that the first appt available was Monday. Mark Yates was on a job but she would call him and he would call me nack within an hour. He called me back within 10-15 minutes.

This was a man and wife team, both electricians, that were both fast and professional. They quickly diagnosed the problems, gave me an estimate, and went to work. Everything was finished in an hour and a half, including a run to Home Depot for a part. Friendly people, and a very reasonable price, in my view.

The Job that they were doing was finished exellent. The quality are somewhat ellegant. I like thier bahavior when they were working.

We are in the process of selling our home and the inspector found an issue with a junction in the breaker box. I contacted Yates Electric and they offered to come and take a look later that same day. It took Mark about 5 minutes to look at the breaker box and determine that the inspector was mistaken and that everything was up to code in our breaker box. While looking at the breaker box, he noticed that the ground wires from the utilities (Phone/Cable/Sattelitte) were broken and no longer connecting to the grounding rod. He proceeded to correct that on the spot.I am very pleased with the service Mark Yates provided. He made a special trip to look at the issue for us and made a minor repair free of charge.
If our next house is in need of any electrical work, I will definitely be contacting Yates Electric.

They did a great job. I would use them in the future.

Yates came to the house on the weekend (for not additional charge) because of an emergency that could have resulted in a fire. They treat existing customers with a great deal of loyalty. The work is first rate and the price resonable.

Long story short: I told them what was wrong and they could have easily taken advantage of me and didn't. Yates are the real deal people you can trust

Long story long:
Wife swore the front and back porch lights were broke. She said she put bulbs in and neither worked. Six months later with no outdoor lights, I finally call team Yates to come fix it. Within 10 minutes Mr. and Mrs. Yates (married duo) have both lights working. In one light fixture there were bugs in the sockets. In another, there was nothing wrong. Just needed new bulbs (thanks, honey). So, expecting to pay $400 for new whatevers I was surprised when they only charged me for the service call.

I also told them my home inspector AND a friend who is a contractor both told me (independently mind you) that I should consider updating all of my electrical stuff. So, team Yates and I go to the basement. He spends 20 minutes telling me why I DON'T need to spend $2,500 to update! My stuff is just fine! Wow. Had he said 'yep, they're right, you need to update,' I would have done and he would have made more money.

Again, Yates are the real deal people you can trust.

We just had the world's pickiest home inspection and are just going through the list of things to fix. Mark came out when he said he would, called me when he was running a little behind, was extremely professional and courteous, and fixed the problem promptly. I would definitely use him again.

After Mark Yates (owner) came to my house and had taken a look at what needed to be done he emailed me an estimate for the job. I emailed Mark back accepting the estimate and waited to hear back from him. It was approximately 3 weeks before I had heard back from him. I had actually had to email him a couple of times almost declining for him to do the job because I did not hear from him. Finally, he returned my emails and I scheduled for him to come out to install this microwave. He showed up with one employee and his partner (his wife) to perform the job. They are extremely friendly and very professional. They immediately got to work. The job seemed to be a bigger one than they had expected, but they handled it very well and got the whole thing done and it was perfect. I couldn't be happier with doing business with them. My only negative was the initial setting up the date for them to come out and lack of initial communication. Other than that it was professionaly done and they were very nice people to have over to the house. I would hire them again for any future electrical work that I would need done.

Mark is friendly, quick, and explains everything as he works. He was very knowledgeable and was able to make me understand things about my home's wiring that I'd not ever understood before. He was also very honest - I'd forgotten that he had a coupon on the AL website... but he reminded me and deducted the coupon from my final bill. He's definitely one to call for electrical concerns!

It took me a while to get the call back from Mark Yates because he is running his company in a downsized version of what it was. Of course I didn't know that when I placed the calls, but it is understandable. It certainly didn't detract from his service and price. Because he is the owner, he takes great pride in his work. Before he left, we discussed the possibility of doing additional electrical work in our kitchen. It will require some dry wall work and other carpentry. He is willing to pull those pieces together and give us a bid. We expect that shortly. It would be nice to see more service people taking as much pride in their work as Mr. Yates.
