Unprofessional, no attention to detail. Vivid Sight & Sound was the low voltage partner my builder used during my new construction. My builder no longer uses them for their projects. I will start with the good, early on the in the project they suggested some speakers with a great price point and which turned out to be amazing. I will say that from a media room/planning perspective, they are stellar! From a pre-implementation planning perspective, I thought they were great. I met with Bob a couple times, he researched what I needed and made great suggestions, the issue became follow-through. At the kickoff of the project, we had plans and diagrams, everything was in writing. One of the first things I told Bob was to ensure that my low voltage (cat6a) wiring was NOT run in parallel with high voltage electrical cables. Well, nearly all runs are not just parallel with, but are zip tied right next to the power. A normal homeowner wouldn't even see this, but as I terminated my own runs, i was able to easily see this failure to follow simple instructions. I let this issue slide because Bob was great to work with. Next, Bob requested some heights and specific locations for runs, I provided these to him in writing in high detail. In one case, an email with 10 items was provided to Bob. A few times I tried to get on site with Bob for a walk-through and verify prior to drywall going up, he would schedule something and then cancel. Finally, Bob just stopped responding until well after drywall was up. I found that 9/10 items were completed as requested (mostly, but there is a lack of attention to detail issue) but the 10th was just skipped. I contacted Bob about this miss of some critical runs and I showed him where we had it in writing and that he had completed the other 9 items on the list indicating he received the message. He informed me that he never saw it and it "is too late to do anything about it now." I complained about this lack of attention to detail and asked him to fix his omission, he offered to do it if I paid him. I'm not sure why i would pay him to fix his mistake. He then offered to give me 100ft of cat6a, which is to say he offered me 30$ to avoid fixing his poor work. Another item was where we plotted external camera cable runs. I marked where I wanted the items, in writing of course, and bob plotted them on the plans. He sent me the plans for review and i immediately (within 10 minutes) responded that they needed to be adjusted and I provided the exact adjustment needed. Since bob continuously cancelled our walk-through and then stopped responding to emails for a bit, of course, these runs were in the wrong place. Once again, he informed me that he never saw the email and that he didn't know how he could do anything about it now. I replied stating that if I was a brand new customer asking for a cable move or run, he would have a method to do it and a price and to simply make the price 0 and do the work. He stopped responding to emails again. Fast forward to the house being completed. the subwoofer outlet was never terminated, though he did send someone out to fix it. The speaker wires were not terminated into a wall plate for the receiver to plug into, though again, he did send someone out to fix it. I did find that although I was very specific about how to handle the runs, Bob did not follow the details at all and since he did not show up to any walk-throughs, this was not caught prior to drywall going up. All in all, Bob is unreliable and unresponsive. There is a complete lack of attention to detail from the company and a lack of responsibility. A good company will accept responsibility for the things they miss or do incorrectly, Bob will blame email or the internet or coronavirus. It's very similar to what my children do when they forget to do chores. Every excuse is provided but in the end, the issue isn't resolved. After fighting with Bob, even though i could easily win in court since everything was in writing, I decided that I couldn't trust Bob to get the job done properly.
