Trademark Universal Stone

The decision to use Trademark Universal Stone after talking with Henry Baroa  (Partner) and receiving 4 different proposals was a good one.  The challenge was to keep my cherry cabinets and trim, complicated by a bump out window and shelf over the kitchen sink.  Trademark exceeded expectations.   Henry was knowledgeable, courteous and concerned throughout the process.   Jessie calmly and efficiently kept track of the project and let me know what my responsibilities were (faucet, plumbing) as well  helping to solve problems.  She promptly returned calls and offered suggestions and help.  Measurements were taken carefully and precisely.   Installation happened on two rainy days.  Trademark brought tarps to protect my carpet and removed their shoes when necessary - and  provided their own vacuum.  All the installers were prompt, polite and skilled.   Henry repeatedly followed up and patiently answered questions and concerns.  I felt like a valued customer and felt that Trademark truly wanted me to be happy with them and my new granite countertop and shelf.  I  certainly am.

Once services and price were agreed to, and once it was too late to turn back, they raised my estimate over 15%, an additional $1000. I ended up having to use a remnant on the back half of the bar so the results were mismatched. I can't understand why I would need to pay an extra $1000 for a worse than agreed to result. Henry said and quot;we make mistakes like this all of the time, this is the nature of our businessand quot;. Stay away if you are looking for a professional!

The end result was beautiful. We would recommend this service provider to our friends.
There were some problems with lack of communication when plans needed to be changed. One example relates to a problem with the material quality as provided by the granite distributor (another company). Our installation was scheduled for a Monday. However, on Friday the fabricator discovered that there were fissures in the granite and it could not be used. We were notified about this problem on Friday after 8pm. The notification came by email. This problem meant that we would need to select new slabs from the distributor and would also result in a delay to the project. It would have been much better if we had been notified immediately when the problem was found, and if that notification was by phone.
While we had a minor problem with timely communication, everything else went very well.
Hector came out to do our template. He was very professional, and offered some good advice.
The three-man crew that actually installed the granite did a very good job. They actually came out on a holiday. This made up for some of the lost time from the material problem. They arrived in the afternoon and worked into the evening. Even though it was a long day for them - they were detail oriented and careful in the installation. We were very happy with the final results.
Overall we were pleased with the service from this company. The excellent installation quality was a nice way to end our interation with this company.

Henry Berroa, partner in Trademark Universal Stone, was very good to work with. We had a small job of replacing only the vanity in our bathroom, but he spent time with us and didn't rush any decisions. Once we found what we wanted, he was very timely in the finishing and installation of the piece. It is beautiful! His workers were extremely professional and courteous. I would definitely use Trademark again.
