We hadn't done much looking at houses since we weren't sure how long it would take to sell our condo. The weekend right after we got our offer, the buying agent took us out to look at houses. We spent an entire day looking at various places and the agent was very patient and helpful, asking questions to make us think. If we were considering buying a place for less than our target value, would the amount of money we saved really fix up the place and make it what we wanted, or would it be better to look at another place? When issues arose such as one place having the storm door locked so we couldn't enter, or another house still having people inside, our agent was very professional and polite with everyone.
The buying agent was also very helpful with making an offer on the house we purchased - giving advice on what kind of offer to make. We were able to sign any paperwork online, so we weren't constantly having to meet up and sign papers or fax things back and forth.
We also ran into a problem at the last minute with selling our condo, and our agent went above and beyond and pulled some strings so everything would work out, something that wasn't his responsibility to handle.
Throughout the selling and purchasing, we were in constant contact with the Oatley team's office staff that handled much of the paper work, and they were very helpful as well. As we were transitioning from one home to another, we were provided with a check list of things to do (transfer electricity, cable, etc) and given a list of phone numbers for all local companies.
I was not happy at all with the realtor I used when I initially purchased my condo, but I am very happy that I ended up with the Oatley Team for selling it and purchasing my new home. It made a world of difference to have people that knew what they were doing and had a lot of experience.
