On Dec. 26th, I went to the emergency room and was immediately taken to the Operating Room with a ruptured colon. Dr. Matt Brown performed the surgery, but the infection had spread throughout my body and I spent several days in intensive care. The surgery necessitated a colostomy, which Dr. Brown scheduled to be reversed at a later date. The reversal surgery went well, but I developed a massive infection at the wound site. Dr. Brown turned treatment over to Dr. Sharpe who discovered that the infection had deteriorated my abdominal muscle as well as my abdominal wall. After a lengthy hospital stay and multiple surgeries, thanks to Dr. Sharpe I am home and on the road to recovery. I can't thank Dr. Sharpe enough for his diligience. He quite literally saved my life.
