Never using this provider again because of the manager! We were overcharged last time we boarded our dogs by $60.00 and treated very rudely by the manager Joyce this particular time. I believe at one time when both owners were on top of the details customer service was priority and we never had any issues to speak of, things have changed! Today I was given a bill in the amount of $399.00 for a two day boarding for three dogs. When I questioned the amount, Joyce the manager said, do you think I'm kidding? Give me $399.00! When I explained to her that you must have the wrong invoice and how we were over charged last time in the amount of $60.00, she only said "yea but you got that back". No apologies or we will make sure its correct next time, unreal! Not only is this manager rude to customers, she say's HORRIBLE things about her [employer} owner of the business] and acts like she is the owner of this company! This is the last straw and we will never return because of this one person that is representing Royalton Kennels!

We have boarded our dogs at Royalton 3 times and the most recent visit was for 10 days while on vacation. Here are the pros and cons I've noticed consistently: Pros: -Affordable pricing (many other kennels are as much as $20/day more expensive) -Almost always have space available (they can take up to 80 animals at a time) -Nothing horrible has happened while our dogs were boarding there -Medication is given correctly. One of our dogs takes a medication twice per day and every time we've returned they've documented that they given the medicine and the correct number of pills are gone from the bottle. Cons: -Not the fanciest or newest facility and even though they advertise the "largest runs in the area" the runs are still very small especially when they put all 3 of our dogs in one run together. -Although nothing horrible has happened to our dogs while staying there nothing great has either. Our dogs are always really excited to be leaving and tend to have bad habits for a few days after returning home. -When you call to check on your animals they always say "yep, they're fine" and then try to hang up the phone. They don't actually check or give you any additional information. (This is concerning especially when your animals are there for more than a couple days). -They've seemed understaffed before which is an indicator that the dogs stay in the kennels most likely longer than they should.

We've used Royalton Kennels several times for dog boarding. Our dogs have never seemed to be scared or hesitant of being dropped off which I think is a big plus since they HATE going to the groomer. On several occasions, the person helping check in the dogs has gotten on the floor to pet and play with the dogs before taking them back. I think pricing for two small dogs runs about $40-45/night. They do offer extra services and grooming. We were not very satisfied with the grooming -- but in all fairness we never actually talked to the groomer about what we wanted since the grooming happened in the middle of the dogs' multi-day stay.

They do a great job there our dog is not stressed when he goes in or comes out. They provide us peace of mind when we need to go out of town and need to board him. Plenty of additional options to make his stay better.

Where to start? First, it has taken a considerable amount of time to get over my anger regarding how the caretaker treated me on the day I dropped off my dog to be boarded. If it hadn't been for the fact that it was spring break and there was no where else to take him (I called 8 other boarding facilities and there were no openings) and the dogs there seemed well taken care of, I would have never have left my dog there (though cancelling my trip crossed my mind).

The caretaker attitude: as we began the process to admit my dog, she began to sneer, snicker and make demeaning remarks about my requests to have by dogs personal blanket with him in the kennel, as if it was a stupid owners idea that the dog really cared about things like that. She then proceeded to pinch the blanket like it was infected and fling it aside on the floor. Then, while discussing feeding routines, she promptly informed me that they wouldn't mix the dry dog food with the one teaspoon of wet because it would make my dog fat and ruin his teeth. I tried to explain that our dog (who came to us from an abusive background) would not eat well and this was what was working for now to get him to eat. She finally said they would do it because it was our request. But, when I picked up my dog, not one package of wet dog food was used!

I do have to say that when I picked up my dog he did seem well taken care of. He did not appear stressed, not overly playful, but was still happy. He had also received a bath either the day of pick up or the previous day. If I had to pick a place solely on my dog's reaction to being at a boarding facility, I would have considered taken him back; But, your experience is also in how the employees treat you and make you feel, and because of the rude head caretaker I will never take my dog back to this kennel again. I have been to 2 other kennel facilities in Louisville and Lexington (I travel) and have had great experiences, for myself and my dog.

I will never recommend Royalton Kennels; they essentially do what and how they please with your dog and you are just the silly stupid owner who knows nothing about taking care of your family member... is this really the experience you would want?

We're good to her, but had more dandruff than usual and seemed sore. Could be coincidence.

They’re absolutely wonderful. They were very kind to my dogs.  The kennel is  nice, warm and clean.  My dogs don’t stink when I pick them up.  They take very good care of them; I can tell that.  They need to be recognized.  When someone’s good to me, I’m going to say they are.  They were reasonable; I didn’t have a problem with the price.  I found them because I was visiting kennels; I won’t leave my dogs just anywhere.  Since I have three dogs it was expensive.  However, it wasn’t too expensive.  Everyone else wanted the same amount of money.  They charge by the dog.  Their facility versus another kennel up the road where they would have been in a concrete area with an outside run, this one was cheaper; they gave me a break for three.  I’ve left them other places and when I got them home they stunk to high heavens; I knew they weren’t taken care of.  This time they smelled good and they were clean.  Before, I hated to come home because one of my dogs is a 90-pounder and I have to take him someplace else to give him a bath.  We’ve spent time looking at kennels, asking to be shown where they were going to keep them, what they were going to do with my dogs, and what they were going to feed them.  We trust them.

I have been using Royalton Kennels for 5+ years and have always been satisfied with their service. The have optional treats and play time available for your pets. On my last visit my dog was hesitant to leave. I walked her into the kennel area and was very impressed with what I saw. The area was spacious and clean. The dogs had access to the outdoors from their kennel. They also have upgraded "suites" for pets.

I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THEM BOARDING MY ANIMALS, OTHERWISE I WOULD NOT HAVE GONE BACK. THEY TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY DOGS. THEY HAVE A LITTLE PLAY AREA AND IN THE WINTER THEY HAVE A HEATED AREA FOR THEM TO BE IN.
