"I believe he has the wrong company, we never performed any work for this customer nor have we been in Indiana. please correct the error thanks."
"In response to the questions of a dying plant and a block that needed an adjustment on a column. I was contacted by the client about the plant and possible others. In short I told her we would replace the plant of another choice but at the time I couldn't retrieve one because no availability at the time. I was going to make the adjustment to a stone on the column when I was able to get the plant. We had a bit of a winter so couldn't do anything during that time. Customer rushed the situation so installed the plant during frost situations which was really too early to do. I purchase all my plants from top nursery suppliers in the region. I have experienced whenever a client has numerous plants dying its usually questionable care of plants. We promised what we said we would do for the client and delivered."
I met Scott Woodward of Preferred Outdoor Design last year, 2014, at the Home, Garden and Remodeling Show. I was in need of a complete redo/makeover of my landscaping which involved saving only my 16-year-old birch tree that shades my two kitchen windows.
Of the several designs, layouts, bids etc. I collected from the Home and Garden Show, I selected the one from Preferred Outdoor Design.
Scott Woodward took my landscaping area and treated it as though it were a canvas; he painted the picture with a variety of shrubs, plants, trees, perennials, annuals, and even two large boulders that went under my birch tree. In his selections, he was mindful of size, color, textures, and seasons which were all blended well.
The border he selected for the landscaping, which I was not sure of in the beginning, ended up framing the landscaping like a picture. And at night, the landscape lighing he added just makes the picture moe beautiful.
Scott Woodward and the men who worked with him were all very professional. They were at my home for about six days, and at the end of each day the work area was picked up and left as clean an neat as possible. All questions and requests were handled in a positive manner. He had the proper equipment to work with in order to do a professional job.
At this particular time all plants, shrubs, and trees seem to be "wintering" well.
I would certainly recommend to anyone who is thinking of new landscaping, landscape lighting, border, etc. to put Scott Woodard of Preferred Outdoor Designs on their list as a definite talk to.
"We were called out to look at a front landscape that was very much over matured and not kept up to say the least. we offered our professional expertise but they only wanted to replace 5 plants. we did exactly what we were hired to do. The customer called me weeks later to let me know a plant had died. I went out to the property to see why the plant had died and noticed that it had blight which is a fungus that had killed the plant. I told the customer the problem and that our warranty does not cover fungus or diseases that is out of our control. (This is stated at the bottom of our contract where he had signed it) We went ahead and replaced the plant at NO CHARGE but I warned (member name removed) that if he did not get a fungicide the rest of the plants could die as well. (member name removed) of course called me a few weeks later and told me another plant had died. I told him that we can replace the plant but I couldn't warranty based on the fungus that was spreading from the infected plant. I never heard back from him again. This job was less than 700 dollars and was contracted over a year this past february. Included in this job was to remove 2 enormous junipers that were 10' tall including the stumps pulled out some old shrubbery, install 5 plants and we included the mulch. I strive to make every customer happy but doing this for 18yrs I also realize that sometimes you can't."
"(member name removed) is a great customer and we designed a landscape and water feature for him that turned out great. (member name removed) contacted me about a water leak and being that he was in shelbyville and we were in the middle of a project in Indiana that it could be a wk or two but we did correct his problem and it seems to be doing fine."
