Olde Towne Chimney Sweeps Fireplace Sales

From Oct 2020 to January 2021; this company installed 3 gas insert systems, logs and burner, that were totally defective; we (the company and I) finally gave up and they gave us a full refund, but no fireplace for the winter season; installs were awful; first install the technicians were given the wrong timeframe; the product worked for two weeks; second install the product had a problem and stopped working twenty minutes after technician left; third install the technician didn’t showed at all, and didn’t call until we called the main office to tell them of the problem; when the installation happened the system worked two hours and then stopped working; run from this company to Louisville and find a reputable company with products and solutions.

Tony Taylor did a thorough inspection of our chimney and fireplace and provided a report. Olde Towne Chimney replaced the crown with poured concrete, removed mortar from a previously botched repair and re-tucked with new mortar, and sealed the chimney with a 10 year sealer. Although we had a small problem during the two week process, Tony and his crews made it right. I am happy with the work.

I was surprised as to how thorough the process was. There was a vacuum that was used as the chimney was swept so there was mess in the house. They had a camera to check the safety of the fireplace and flue. I received a thorough report. Very prompt and professional and I would use the, again.

The chimney cleaning and inspection went very well. The person who did the work was very professional and knowledgeable. He used a camera to inspect the entire inside of the chimney and explained everything he was seeing and whether or not he saw any issues that needed to be addressed. He explained some options for gas fireplace inserts (with pros and cons) to replace the old gas logs I currently have (I live in a 1920s home with the original gas log fireplace) but did not pressure me into buying one. Overall, he did a terrific job. I feel very comfortable and safe using my fireplace now.

I chose to work with someone else for other reasons. I would hire them again.

Olde Towne was prompt and professional.

They were fourth chimney service we have had out in the four years of living in this house. They were the only ones knowledgeable to tell us how to use the chimney. Told us why were get getting the so much smoke in the house, how to place the logs and how to light the fireplace. The team was very professional and knowledgeable.

Nowhere on the website did it say they were not booking appointments for 6 weeks. it would be very simple to include this in the information on the website or on the constant emails I received about this deal.

really impressed with knowledge of fireplace and chimney systems.  Gave helpful information about use, cleaning and maintenance.  Provided an honest assessment of status of system, even going so far as to advise that certain maintenance/repairs -which he would do - could wait for a season.  Definitely my first choice for fireplace and chimney work.

I visited the showroom to make an appointment for a technician to give us an estimate on installing a fireplace insert. I was told by the saleman that the manager is out of town and for me to call next week to schedule a day.  My husband called the store the following week  to set up an appointment and we were told that appointments are only between 1-4pm,  he told them that we would like a 4pm appointment because we both work and cannot be home before 4pm. He was told that it would need to be prior to 4pm. So realistically appointment are between 1-3?  He then asked for a Saturday appointment and was told they do not work on Saturdays. At this point he told the lady that those times will not work with our schedule and he stated "I guess we have to take a day off for an appointment" and she replied "yes".  He then said don't worry about it we will call someone else.   we were left feeling like we were a burden and not a customer. They could not be flexible in order to get our business.  So sad since we had high hopes for this place.   This is not a customer friendly business, unless you are available between 1-4!

They did a good a job.

Service man was on time. Very polite and gave excellent informatiion that I needed. He explained the working of the dryer vent and that our clothes were not getting dry because of the big clogged up hose mechanism. He performed the work and inspected the outside vent of our home and ran the dryer to see if everything was up and running. We have been very satisfied with the performance of the dryer and feel like we have saved money since the new hose has been installed.

Thought more would be done for a $129 service call. Didn't do much more than checking the controls (15 min). Thought the service call would have included cleaning the vents and area around the controls. I guess I should have asked what a service call included. Will try someone else next time.

They were very nice, but we didn't plan on paying more then we thought for the job.

We checked up with several different providers and we ended up with them. They had essentially what we were looking for in terms of the type of fireplace and the quality. My wife is very pleased with it. I will continue to use this provider again in the future.

They are very professional. They did well with regards to talking to me and giving me an estimate. They did not perform any work. They returned my calls and answered all my questions. I would use them again in the future as I am always pleased with them.

We had a gas fireplace that was not working properly and outside air blew into the house. We had plastic covering the fireplace and preferred a wood burning fireplace over gas. We had several companies look at making repairs but none of them seemed as knowledgable as this company. It was a 3-day job and everything went well. I have used the fireplace 5 times in the last 2 weeks and especially enjoy the blower. We no longer have a draft in our living area and the fireplace does a great job of warming our room. Our living room looks very nice with the new stone and I highly recommend this company to others.

Tony came to my home and explained what was to be done and got to work quickly. It took him about 1 hour to clean both of my chimneys. He did a great job, was professional and courteous. Everything was cleaned up with no dust or debris of any kind. This was as good as I could have expected this to go. I would recommend Olde Town to anyone who needs their chimney cleaned.

Excellent!!! The company individual who performed the work, Tony, is an expert at what he does. I have never used a woodburning stove before and he explained the ins and outs of the unit along with possible safety concerns. He also cleaned the unit thoroughly and left no mess to speak of. When I go to replace the unit in my home, I am definately going to call this company back.
