This is the worst cleaning company I have ever come in contact with. I paid $89.00 for a deep cleaning and they didn't even clean under the bed or any of the furniture in my bedroom, They didn't dust the fireplace, They were supposed to wipe down the doors none of them were wipe down. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!

The initial cleaning of my home was supposed to be a deep cleaning - spring cleaning style. I was charged $250 and our home isn't large. The manager was supposed to come by on the Friday the house was cleaned just to confirm pricing based on the house size. She never came. She said she'd come Monday. She didn't. Turns out there were several places missed during the cleaning so I took pics and texted them to the manager. The girls came out and cleaned those places. The manager was supposed to get back with me about a regular cleaning price. She has. That was over a month ago.

We had maid service for a while but we don't use them anymore. They showed up on time. I only had them every other week. I just did that for a while and I had had surgery and that's why I had them come out. Once I was able to do all that myself I didn't need their services anymore. They were punctual and I thought what they did was good. I think they all charge pretty much the same. The quality was good. They never sent out the same person twice so it was a different one every time they came out and I think some people clean better than others do. They always came at the time they said they would be here. I think I would refer them to a friend.

The quality of the cleanings has become inconsistent; corners in the living room floor not cleaned (we have hardwood floors). Short pillow cases on long pillows, long pillow cases on short pillows when making the bed; not dusting light fixtures, not making the bed completely (not putting on the bedspread). Their claim about doing the bathroom floor on hands and knees just can't be true because the shower door curb isn't getting cleaned (running a finger along the tile surface of the curb always shows a heavy layer of shower scum), and the shower walls are done on a "hit and miss" basis. Occasionally when I put clean towels out to be hung in the bathroom, they are not touched. Area rugs are not being moved to mop or vacuum around either. I've called Merry Maids and complained and they did send a team of cleaners along with the quality manager to check my complaints out and do a deep cleaning, but the quality of the cleanings continued to be inconsistent. Additionally I've had to call Merry Maids and tell them not to send back more people because of unsatisfactory cleaning than I ever have within the past 6 months. I really like this service because their staff is bonded and insured, and Merry Maids is a subsidy of Servicemaster Corporation, but i have cancelled my service with them, which is just a shame.

On the first day no one showed up at the appointed time. I waited for 20 minutes and then I called. I was told he had just left and should be here anytime. A half hour later a young man who was decidedly unprofessional in appearance knocked on the door. A very pleasant young man really. He explained that he had done so well in the required two-week training (that I was assured each person underwent), that he was turned out early (because he was just that good) and I was his second job on his own. So for what was (on paper) to be a 656.00 dollar initial deep cleaning, a young man, not fully trained and by HIMSELF was sent to clean and deep clean a 2700 sq. ft. house with bamboo floors almost entirely throughout (mopping is necessary).
He showed promise in some areas when I watched as I walked through a room, and his attempts to clean were a complete and utter failure in other areas. Absolutely sub-par. A feather type duster was used on all furniture, no sprays to really clean the surfaces. Their paper work says they vacuum all furniture including under the cushions. He took his feather duster and swiped the top of the upholstered couch cushions. When I asked, he said "no, this is how we do it". WHAT? The top of the fridge was untouched as were all cupboards and drawer fronts. Underneath the cabinet edges were standing bits of food and lint. I was told all bathrooms and kitchens were cleaned on hands and knees. They were untouched underneath all kitchen floor level cabinets. Items were not picked up and cleaned and obviously the surfaces they sat upon were not cleaned either. Basic cleaning 101. A small example was that he didn't go under a standing washstand that sits catty corner. It sits up on high legs. From a distance I could see (later) that he merely took the vacuum until he came in contact with the piece of furniture. The whole back corner area of the floor was covered in dust and had three separate dogs toys. I was able to take my finger through dust on the buffet and leave a mark. It had been untouched. I took pictures of many of the missed things that were pathetically obvious and made notes that took 2 sides of an 8 x 11 piece of paper. I found other missed areas as time went on. I called the office two hours before close. No response. That was a Friday. They were open Saturday and did not call back then either. Finally they called Monday and said they would send someone to fix it. I didn't feel well and asked for Tuesday. They said it had to be Wednesday. So five days later they sent a woman who was to just do the places he missed. She was supposed to be there in the morning, however again, someone had not shown up for work and this woman got here around 11:30. I could have used that time to run errands. I never did have the luxury of a fully cleaned home in one setting that was to cost me 656.00 but was dropped to 256.00 since I signed up. If I cancelled I was informed that I would owe that original 656.00. What a racket. Now the house is cleaned in spots and five days dirty everywhere else, and the "fix it" woman missed vacuuming and mopping a large section of floor inside the double doors leading to the back veranda (high traffic area). Simple things. They were to come last Friday and called ON Friday to say they couldn't due to weather. I said no problem, I figured my new day was Wednesday since that would be two weeks from the fix it visit. Later I realized we were having a family gathering this week-end and called my contact to ask to keep it Friday as originally scheduled she said yes and that she would call me and tell me who was coming and at what time. I had been hanging around puttering and working Friday morning with no word and no one showing up at my door. I finally called. The woman assigned to come this morning "didn't come to work". So "L" will be here at 1:30 who has been there almost a year. I will "love" him she said. I could have gone to the grocery to prepare for the family gathering or any other necessary errands could have been completed but I was hanging around waiting for my professional cleaner to arrive. "L' showed up in very dirty attire and it was 1:30pm. I said "I guess you had another house to clean before coming here", and he said "I've had two". Cleaning two houses properly in 5 hours (by himself) is impossible unless they were tiny cottages. I said "are you okay or are you beat?", he said he was beat. I didn't feel it was fair to ask this guy who said he had no plan to come to our home originally, to now have a 2700 sq. ft. clean thrown on him and I deserved a fresh and rested person to properly clean for 149.00. I made it clear how terribly unhappy I was with all of my dealings with Merry Maids thus far. When Jerri came to the home she sold me on their program of excellent training, having the same person whenever possible, and how wonderfully my house would be cleaned. She also mentioned how someone wanted to get out of their contract (no surprise there), and she seemed pleased that they had signed a contract so they would not be able to do so. Evidently it seems that Jerri may no longer be with them. I am not positive but that is what one of their employees mentioned to me. I have already spoken to my credit card company, in fact I called that first day of "service" and they said to give them a chance to make it right, but if they didn't provide the services described in the contract then there would be a dispute filed. There is now an active dispute in progress and the first large payment for the "deep clean" has been reimbursed. I most definitely gave them enough chances, I really wanted it to work, I needed it to work!!
This is the first time I/we have not checked reviews prior to hiring. We actually had a different Company in our minds with a very similar name. Reading online reviews (after the fact) on Yahoo, Yelp, and Angie's List, we would have known to run like mad. After the gentleman "L" left yesterday without cleaning (mutual agreement, he too was clearly frustrated) I started deep cleaning all of my cabinets and wooden furniture to start making ready for the family get together. I have a ton of cooking to do as well so this is most unfortunate. Not to mention I am healing from an injury. I heard my phone ring in the office as I sat cross-legged on the floor scrubbing cabinets. When I looked later it was a woman from Merry Maids. Her message said "the reason I am calling is, umm, give us a call." I didn't call back, as I was too busy cleaning.

"They have been loyal clients of ours for years. I spoke with [member name removed] for the very 1st time on Wednesday normally we speak with [other member name removed] and apologized many, many times for leaving the home unsecured. I have offered solutions to fix the concern of leaving their home unsecured. Even coming myself to make sure it was done.As for my Service Manager meeting with them I was under the impression on the day of the meeting my office person was sick and has tried to reschedule that appointment. I certainly never want a client to be upset with something we have done. I want each and everyone we have an opportunity to meet to have a positive experience. I also know that sometimes no matter what we offer it will never be enough. They are still clients of ours and I will do everything in my power to correct the issues."

The list of cleaning tasks they perform sounds great, but they don't do any of these tasks. Nothing was cleaned properly. After a few weeks of Merry Maids cleaning my home weekly, it was the dirtiest my home has ever been. They even totally ignored mold to grow in my husband's shower (which was pristine before they started cleaning). I had the manager come several times to see how poorly everything was being cleaned and they changed cleaning people several times, but all of their workers just lightly surface cleaned as fast as possible. I would never recommend this company.

As was mentioned in another review Jeri Hack was very pleasant and professional, but then again sales people usually are or they aren't very successful in selling anything. I was promised better service by the service manager each time I had a complaint but that never happened, because it wasn't followed up on. I also accepted a price increase in year two although I'm not sure why because I have never received the service that I was promised from the get-go. The company has had ample opportunity to make this right and has failed to do so. The methodical system of cleaning that was described to me sounded like a good idea but since their employees don't follow it it doesn't really work. I also had several people tell me that the previous person who cleaned was the real problem (not them) and that they aren't given the proper equipment to do their jobs which are incredibly unprofessional things to say about the company that pays you. Just an over all bad experience.

They charge more than most companies and the work is not up to par by all employees. Just because I don't live in a huge home should not mean I cannot get quality service. I would hire N in a heartbeat but not the general cleaning pool at merry maids. I had service scheduled every three weeks but they give priority to weekly and biweekly customers. This organization did not treat me fairly and I exercised my right to not deal with poor or no service. We no longer have a relationship and I am pleased with the company I am currently using.

"My name is Melissa Gross I am the branch manager I tried to contact to rectify the concerns that [member name removed] has expressed. She stated she had already found someone else. I would love to meet face to face and address the issues together. And I would love to fix her concerns. She is defiantly a value to my company."

I contacted the company for an estimate. Geri Hack promptly returned my call and set up an appointment immediately to come out and give me an estimate. Geri arrived on time and was extremely friendly. She explained all details of the service that was to be provided. Due to some special circumstances, I was unable to actually have the job done and when I called Geri to explain, she was very professional and made me feel welcome to call back whenever I needed their service. Overall a very good experience...

I have been using Merry Maids for the past 3 months and am extremely happy with their performance. After using several housecleaning services, both franchises and local companies, and being disappointed, I tried Merry Maids as a last resort. I honestly wasn't expecting them to be a long-term solution, but went ahead and tried them and have been thrilled with every aspect of their work. Jerry came out initially to meet with me and discuss my needs and is great to work with. They send me the same lady every week and she is very sweet, professional, and easy to deal with and she does a fabulous job! I have extremely high expectations and they have not let me down. I would highly recommend them

Broken items, never the same person twice, would not lift kitty litter from tub to clean it, did not move things to vacuum or dust. Had to call company for an inspection.

They did a deep cleaning and I felt that it was a little more expensive. They were on time and came when they were supposed to. They got the job done in a timely fashion. They were thorough and did a satisfactory job. We are using them again. They were pleasant and easy to work with.

I told them to come around at 11 and they came at 1:30. They wanted my house keys and I didn't feel comfortable with that because I have animals and they are my kids. I was not impressed with the pricing either. They wouldn't respond to my phone calls as well.

I WASN'T OVERLY IMPRESSED. THEY HAD TO COME OUT AND EVALUATE THE HOUSE ON THEIR TERMS DURING THE DAY. THEY WANT TO BE HERE WHEN YOU'RE NOT BUT THAT MAKES ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE. A LOT OF PEOPLE WANT A MAID SERVICE BUT THE SECURITY AND TRUST MATTER IS A BIG THING. I DON'T LIKE HANDING OVER A KEY TO MY HOME OR HAVING SOMEONE INSIDE MY HOME WHEN I'M NOT HERE.

IT WAS GOOD BUT WE DIDN'T WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY TO CONTINUE THE SERVICE WHICH WAS A GIFT. THEY DID A GOOD JOB BUT I HAD TO COMMUNICATE EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED DONE. WE THOUGHT THEY WERE A LITTLE HIGH PRICED BUT THEY UNDERSTOOD EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED.

I THINK THEY DID A GOOD JOB, BUT THEY DIDN'T MOVE ANYTHING AROUND WHEN THEY WERE CLEANING AND DIDN'T CLEAN TOO MUCH UNDERNEATH TABLES AND OTHER OBJECTS, SO THERE WERE AREAS THAT WERE STILL DUSTY. THE PEOPLE WHO DID THE WORK WERE WONDERFUL BUT THE PRICE WAS RATHER EXPENSIVE FOR ONLY ONE HOUR.

I WOULD NEVER DO IT AGAIN. I'VE NEVER HAD ANYONE CLEAN MY HOUSE BEFORE. WHEN I CALLED TO SET UP THE CLEANING I ASKED THEM TO CLEAN THE BASEBOARDS. THEY DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH THEM. THE ONE THING I ASKED THEM TO DO, THEY DIDN'T DO. I PAID THEM WITH A GIFT CERTIFICATE AND THEN AFTER THEY LEFT THEY CALLED ASKING FOR PAYMENT. THEN THEY SENT A BILL IN THE MAIL.

THEY DIDN'T CLEAN MY HOUSE WELL SO I FIRED THEM. THEY WERE REAL NICE ABOUT WHAT THEY DID BUT THEY DIDN'T DO THEIR JOB. THEY WERE POLITE AND NICE, BUT DIDN'T DO A GOOD JOB SO THEY HAD TO REPEAT THEIR WORK.

THEY HAD FORGOTTEN THE APPOINTMENT, SO THEY WERE EXTREMELY LATE AND THEY DID A TERRIBLE JOB CLEANING. WE DIDN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING, BUT THEIR SUPERVISOR CAME THROUGH AND SAID THEY DID A TERRIBLE JOB CLEANING AND MADE THEM COME BACK. SO THEY DID MAKE IT RIGHT, BUT IT WASN'T VERY CONVENIENT.

EVERYTHING WAS FINE WITH. THEY WERE BONDED, IN CASE SOMEBODY TRIED TO STEAL OUR POSSESSIONS. THEY WERE DEFINITELY SENSITIVE WHEN CLEANING THE HOUSE. I WOULD USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.
