"Kentucky Paints will never be doing a "big deal" or referring anyone to use Angies List ever. If you look at our track record before this big deal, we were a high end painting business that received nothing but high praise from all those we worked with. Since the "big deal," we have had people just looking for a deal, with no professionalism from most of those we have worked with. I was blown away by this lady who wrote this review. She leaves average grades for a superior service. I originally spent 45 minutes with her helping her to choose the absolutely right color, which is not a part of the service. I also had told her I would paint her ceiling for her for an "extra" 25$. She declined, and instead had her father paint the ceiling, which he did although he missed about six stripes worth. I wonder what she would have graded him? The plaster on her walls were all failing, and I even mentioned this to her, saying there would be nothing I could do, a plaster man would have to come out and do some extensive repair. She said she knew this and it was not expected for me to fix it, nor would it affect the job I was doing. I showed her what the color looked like after I rolled a wall, and her reply was that she thought it would be darker? Whatever, it's the color she chose. Then after finishing, which only took one coat, I told her there was not a need for another coat as there were no paint brush strokes, and the color covered. I told her to please give me a call if she had any problems, as she lives 3 miles from me, and I would be more than happy to come by. I know if this had been a 500$ job, the homeowner would have definitely called me if there were any "quality" issues, but these people who want something for nothing merely get off at trying to give us bad reviews to try and ruin our business. As a business owner for some time now, I just want to reiterate how much of a joke Angies List really is."

"This job was a rather big job, not only for Kentucky Paints, but for the homeowner as well. The scope of the job is hard to grasp from his comments, but from the price, let me tell you exactly what was included: we did the front trim around the front door, sanded, scraped, wood-filled; painted the exterior of the front door; pressure washed the entire back of his brick home, and the deck; stained his 20x15' deck; painted the garage door which took three coats; painted the inside of his garage which had 15' high walls; sprayed his kitchen cabinets with a lvlp high quality sprayer, with Porter Paints Glyptex WB for a high quality oil-like finish; sprayed all the doors, closet doors, and trim throughout the home (2 floors, 4BR home); rolled 2 coats on all the ceilings with Sherwin Williams CHB; stripped wallpaper in the bathroom, repaired the walls from wallpapering around giant mirror; caulked entire house, all baseboards, all ceilings; painted all windows (17, 9 panels top, 9 panels bottom) 2 coats; painted stair risers, spindles up the stairs; painted 2coats on walls in every room of house, except wood paneled family room; I was there working 7 days a week until usually 6-8 for 3 weeks straight. The home had been a rental and had not been kept up to date, either with colors or with fresh paint in quite some time, and as the owners were now wanting to sell the home, the change needed to occur fast. Like I have always said, a fresh coat of paint, especially on the trim and ceilings will make your home seem brand new!!! The transformation of this home was priceless, I just wish this homeowner had taken a bit more of his time explaining how much of a difference Kentucky Paints really made to his home."
