There is a clear disconnect between what the member has stated in his review and our documents accounts of our relationship with him. Our first contact with the member was May 23, 2012 after the hail storms which occur in late April. He called our office wanting an inspection of his roof. He indicated he saw no damage but many of his neighbors were getting new roofs. we inspected the roof 5/23/2012 and found little damage and our Salesman, Gary Farrigno, told the member there was a 50/50 chance his insurance company may replace his roof. The member called us in May to tell us that an insurance adjuster would be visiting May 11, 2012. Our salesman Gary Farrigno agreed to meet with the adjuster on that date and he did meet the adjuster. The Insurance Adjuster found no significant damage to grant a new roof. At that time Mr. Farrigno and the member discussed some minor repairs the member might want completed, but the member was non committal on the repairs and did not sign a contract to have the work done. The member was to get back with us concerning the work. During this time all of our sales people were deluged with 8-9 estimates per day which is an extreme work load due to the hail storms. We were very busy assisting literally 100's of folks every week with estimates. The member was in decisive in committing to the repairs. Regardless of this information another of our salesman (Butch Chambers) went to see the member August 10, 2012 after a phone call to our office. Mr. Chambers provided the member with estimates for all the work he requested. Our salesman Mr. Chambers has been waiting on the member to make a decision and give him a call back. To date the member has not called Mr. chamebrs nor our office to accept or decline our proposals.Service Provider Response
The member gives our company and overall F yet rates or price an A? Seem if the repairs were that terrible the price would not matter. I bad repair is expensive at any price correct? We suspect the company would inspected the roof for hail damage of course picked another roofers work apart to make them selves look better to the customer. The members version make no sense to us to respond too. Our company does literally hundred's of repairs as well as hundreds of roof replace,ends every year. We never ever tell anyone we will be right out. Emergency service is available for leaks and we rush out to patch active leaks quickly but major repairs always take a little longer. All the workers who participated in The member's repair were hourly employees not subcontractors. The customer was not told we would be right out. Just don't happen here because of our work loads. It is unfortunate the member had to join the List just to file this complaint. After the work was completed we never heard from the member until this complaint after his roof was inspected by a competitor. We install and repair one thousand + roofs and homes every year. We have an A+ rating with the BBB and many satisfied customers. We stand behind our work particularly warranties. We consider our customers, customers for life, that is how we have grown and succeeded in business over the years. We may have not satisfied this particular customer and for that I am sorry, but that is not the norm when you do business with HKC Roofing and Construction.Service Provider Response

We are working on our communications with customers to make it better, the recent storms have brought a deluge of business for which we are greatfull, but keeping all our customers informed has been a difficult task do to the shear volume of business. In general we have handled it well and the number of complaints versus the amount of business we are installing is very small. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau and have a A+ rating with only six (6) complaints over three (3) years. We have in that time install over 3,000 roofing projects. The sales man was correct in requiring the additional ventilation to match the correct ridge ventilation. This is a warranty issue. If the other company didn't balance the ventilation correctly they do not have a truly warranted roof. I believe the customer just went for the cheaper price and justified the ventilation because of th cheaper price. I do apologize that the salesman show up too early. We insist that our folks be on time and take plenty of time to explain just exactly what the customers is getting for the price. Other wise unknowledgeable customers will assume all roofs installations and companies are equal. It says everything the customer went with the cheaper price and ignored the ventilation recommendation of our trained estimator.Service Provider Response
