I was in the market to add additional insulation in our attic. I only had about 4-6 inches total throughout. I called Gisco and the next day Tony (the owner) came out and crawled through the attic. He examined it thoroughly and found a few things that needed attention. He made recommendations on the amount to add. Some things that I thought should be added he said would not be cost effective. He gave us a quote and we were satisfied with the price and what he would do. We scheduled a time to have the insulation blown in, and his company was on time. They did an outstanding job despite the 100 degree temp in the attic! I think they even blew in more than what was on the quote, which was about 8-10 inches. Looking up there it seems more like 14-15 inches. All in all a very professional job. I am pleased with the service provided by Tony and his company. He also saved me money on things that I really did not need. I did have other bids for this job, and Tony was the only one who took the time to crawl through the entire attic. The others simply walked up the ladder and looked at the attic without actually going through it. His price was very competative as well. Added pictures of before and after. Big difference can be seen!

GREAT!!! Tony was on time, knowledgeable, and thorough. He answered all my questions and concerns and advised me on how to safely do some projects myself. He took pictures of the attic, explained what needed to be done and even drew a diagram for me. His crew was on time, protected my floors, cleaned up and also took more pictures to show what had been done. They explained everything they did. I even called Tony several days later for advice and he was kind enough to help. Great job and many thanks to Tony and his crew. I even saved with an Angie's coupon.

Tony Long came to the house to look at where we might create energy savings. He carefully examined the whole house and made recommendations. We added another 11 inches of insulation to the attic, which is very large, the space above the garage, secured energy escapes around pipes leading to the outside, and added insulation in the basement to walls that were wooden and subject to heat loss. While I was not present during the work, my wife said how gracious they were, careful to attend to both detail and cleanliness, and very personable. They clearly knew their business and did a great job.

Overall, it was an excellent experience, and worth every penny.. For the initial energy audit, Tony was prompt and very professional. He spent over 2 hrs thoroughly going over my entire house with his thermal camera identifying areas that needed to be sealed/insulated. He looked at all the light switches, wall outlets, windows, doors, baseboards, plumbing entries, can lights, walls, ceilings, etc, etc. He literally evaluated every room, closet, bathroom, under sink areas, the furnace & ducting, hot water heater, etc.. He covered every story along with the basement and attics. Ahead of time, I explained that I wanted this information to know what was in need of weather sealing, and that I planned to do all this work myself....except for the big stuff like blowing insulation. As Tony went through the house, he was very generous with his knowledge and expertise.....he advised me as to which types of caulk I should use for various air leaks, how to go about sealing the light switches and wall outlets, what supplies to buy, the best sequence for installing door weatherstripping, tips to make replacing the garage door seal easier, etc.. Further, there was an uninsulated area in the basement under a bedroom which I had long assumed was in desperate need of insulation - but Tony said don't worry about it, that going to the trouble of insulating it wasn't worth it and wouldn't make much of a difference. I felt like Tony was very honest and sincerely interested in helping me make my house energy efficient and leak free. Surprisingly, the things like windows that I expected to be leaky were fine. However, he discovered some huge air leaks I was totally unaware of - such as an open chase where my chimney was completely unsealed were ice cold air was rushing in. Later that day, Tony emailed me a detailed report. It identified all the improvements for me to do myself. In addition, there was an estimate for the work his firm could supply. I was so impressed by the energy audit, I hired Tony and his crew to come back a week later to do the following work: • Blow 6-8” of cellulose over existing insulation throughout attics. • Where trails and duct work are present, blow 10-12”. • Seal off open chase with foam board and fire block foam. • Wrap chimney pipe at sealed off point with ceramic fiber to prevent insulation contact. • Insulate attic access panels. • Clean up work related debris. They arrived promptly at 8:45 and worked continuously until approx 5 pm. They were very careful to keep the white carpet clean, and to protect the contents of our closets as they accessed the attic areas. Everything was thoroughly cleaned up and the areas vacuumed. Prior to hiring them, I had researched the cost per sq ft for material and labor to blow in cellulose insulation. Considering the number of sq ft of insulation that was blown into my attics, the amount of labor and materials needed to correct the chimney & chase, and to seal & insulate all the access panels - I felt like it was an excellent value. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the quality of work, and the value I received. The added insulation and weather sealing has made a huge difference. Our house is much warmer, and a totally unexpected benefit is how much quieter it is. The noise from planes flying over is dramatically reduced, and we can no longer hear the squirrels scampering across the roof. It is so quiet, it is now hard to tell if it's raining outside since we don't hear the rain hitting the roof. I highly recommend Tony Long and Gisco Corp.

Overall, excellent job.  Would highly recommend to anyone in an older home or if you are new to your home.  Most of the identified improvements were DIY in nature.  Showed up on time and took time to explain observations.  Very professional and thourough evaluation. I was happy I purchased.

I had researched GISCO through Angie's List for my 86 year-old mother's home. My mother had blindly contacted another firm that I felt was overpriced and I offered to get another quote for her. Tony (GISCO owner) offered to remove all of the old insulation, install new insulation, remove and insulate an old box fan, and insulate the stairwell going up to the attic. Far more services than the competitive quote.
The crew was professional, showed up on time, delivered services as promised, and worked quickly and safely. My mother had a lot of stored items (READ: junk) in her attic. The crew moved and semi-organized the mess and even offered the use of their dumpster if we wanted to dispose of anything. We tossed about half of the pile away. What remained, the crew actually moved and combined into a neat pile and covered with a plastic tarp.
BOTTOM LINE: House warmer, attic cleaner. A great job done well!

Gisco arrived at the time that they stated they would, and installed the insulation according to the agreement that was reached the previous day. The installers were professional and courteous. They did their job, performed the requisite clean-up, collected payment, and left. That's how it should be done.

I bought an Angie?s List deal ($59) for Energy Evaluation & Thermal Camera Scan including $150 credit for any work I wanted done.
My house is over 100 years old and over my 24 years in it, I have focused n making it as energy efficient as possible.  I was curious to know what more could be done.  Tony came with his camera, evaluated my house and helpfully gave me a list of things I could do to improve energy savings.
It was interesting following him around with his camera as he showed me where the cold was coming in.  I had cold around window pulleys and outside wall outlets  He showed me how to caulk under windows & baseboards.  He also suggested I add more insulation in the basement laundry area and put new weather stripping on my front door;
He sent an estimate to blow in more insulation in the attic and exterior upstairs walls.  It was right around $1000 minus the $150 credit included on the Deal.

Communication:
Tony was immediately responsive when I first contacted him. He said he would give me a call the next day, but did not. Then, when I followed up with him, he was responsive, but I wasn't able to give him my attention. When we were able to get a time together, he spent a good deal of time walking around and pointing out issues and making recommendations for what is worth fixing and what was not. I felt during this time that he had a good understanding of his field and could explain it well. Tony was on site on and off when the work was performed over two days.
Workmanship:
Because it took two days, I did get to check out the work during the night and thought a lot of attention had been given to installing the foam board on the side attics. He had my wife inspect the work before it was all sealed up, and she was satisfied as well. Now, all I can see are the sealed access panels, so it's hard to know what it looks like inside. For the results, I trusted Tony to do what would yield a good result, but we'll see when the weather turns colder how it holds up. From a cosmetic standpoint, it looks like how I would have expected a good job to have been done.
Employees:
We had a bad experience with one of Tony's employees, who was not communicating well and seemed to be contradicting what Tony had told us. He apparently then quit the morning of the second day of our installation, which pushed back the start time a little bit that morning because Tony had to come to our house and do some of the work. Everything went fine beyond that, and I don't otherwise know what the issue was.
I was happy with the experience. Tony also said we should spray the band joists with foam, which he doesn't do, and arranged for another company to come do it for us. There was a miscommunication on the time that morning they would arrive, but I don't know whose fault that was, so I can't fault Tony for it.

It was just okay. There was nothing ever written down, it was just kind of very informal. The guy was nice enough and seemed to know what he was talking about but it just wasn't professional. They should have provided me more information.

I had been impressed with Tony's professionalism and personal attention when he did the energy audit of our house.  He suggested and explained in detail a number of things I could do myself to increase energy efficiency.

For the insulating project, Tony did an excellent job explaining what would happen and then staying in touch through the completion.  The actual installers, Aaron and James, were highly competent and pleasant, and did an excellent job!  We can already tell three days later what a difference having good attic insulation is making in our 1950's era house.

I am often cynical when it comes to service companies, so I need to say up front that few have impressed me like Gisco Corporation.  Tony and his team are truly a class act:  honorable, dependable, and fair.....above reproach.

I purchased a $67 coupon on Angie's List for $150 worth of services from Gisco Corporation.  Response was immediate.  Tony, the owner, contacted me and set up an appt for the thermal scan (about 1 hour).  He inspected my home from top to bottom, making suggestions on what I could do to save on energy costs.  Tips included caulking around baseboards, replacing worn weather stripping around door frames, using Great Stuff along garage wall and under sinks where pipes come through exterior walls.  I followed every bit of advice (cost: $15) and the improvement was immediate!
Tony suggested attic insulation (cellulose) My total cost was $550 ($700 minus the $150 coupon I had purchased).  The attic space is about 40.5' X 23'.
Insulation was scheduled for Friday morning, 7/17/15.  Aaron and James arrived punctually.  Both were professional and personable.  They explained what they would do, how they would do it, and how long it would take.  The explanation was spot on.  They wore shoe covers to protect our flooring and quietly focused on their task. After they finished, everything was left neat and tidy.  The only way we knew they had been there was that our second floor was now the same temperature as our first floor!
Tony and his team at Gisco Corporation came through with shining colors for us, yet I suspect that this is how they treat all of their customers.  They deliver a great service at a fair price.  What more could you ask for?

I'd purchased the deal on Angie's List for $250 worth of blown-in cellulose insulation for $99. Tony came out and was able to give me a quote quickly and answered all questions I had. It ended up being another $427 to finish up the attic to recommended levels as well as insulate the access hatch in the roof of my office. There were no issues on the day of the appointment, and they cleaned everything up great. I would definitely use Gisco in the future if needed.
