A representative from Doug Jones came to our home on August 6, 2014 to give us an estimate on windows for part of the house. The gentleman was very nice, and we discussed several issues and he made some recommendations that we were happy with. We signed the contract that evening and he told us that it would take about 4-5 weeks for our windows to be made and installed. We received a phone call about 4 weeks later to schedule the installation of our windows and they were there the next week to install them. The two young men who installed them were very nice and did a great job. They even were kind enough to put an extra couple of nails in a piece of siding for me that needed to be replaced. They cleaned up everything before they left and did an excellent job.

They did it totally wrong and and when the neighbor pointed out that the drainage is supposed to be going downhill and in the back they did not listen. I do not know if they were saving 50 dollars by not doing correctly but it is as if they switched the gutters around and had them drain the wrong way on front of our house right into our foundation. When we called them and told them they had done it completely backwards.....they did not care at all......we had pictures of all the water that was pooling at our front sidewalks up to the house and into the neighbors front foundation, we had the guy that lived here for 10 years tell them they put them on wrong.......they said they put then up the way they were before but they were lying and refused to fix the situation or even admit to it..........This company is a joke and they have no idea what they are doing, I would not hire them to do any job. I cannot believe how rude the owner of the company was and that he was satisefed with the job he did. This guy should not be allowed to have a contractors license if he thinks gutters should pool water into your foundation, that is just plain idiocracy!

"(member name removed) is not a customer of our company. We were contracted by the previous owner to install new gutters. We installed the gutters to our customers satisfaction and were paid for our work. When (member name removed) purchased the property she called the office about the water issue and I met her at the house. I informed her that the gutters had been installed properly and to the previous owners satisfaction and that if she wanted the gutters changed, there would be a charge. She refused to pay the labor to have my gutter guy make the change, so nothing was done. We are a very reputable company who have been serving the Louisville area for over 43 years. We have always had an outstanding rating from the Better Business Bureau and we perform quality work at a fair price. I was never rude to (member name removed). She is just angry because our company won't change the gutters to her liking for free!"

If we could give David's company a 11/10, we would. Karl, the main installer, was meticulous in his work. You could tell that he enjoyed his work and wanted to do the best he could. Rodney (gutters) was top notch and a real pro. You could tell that he had been doing it for years. Mr. Mottley (sales rep) was one of the nicest rep's we've ever met. No hard sell, and very professional. Lastly, David is one of the most honest contractors we've come across. He worked hard to get us gutters and we appreciate his kindness in doing so. Can't recommend this company enough!

The sales person assured that my blinds would fit with the new windows. (Not the case in the living room where they ended up drilling into the window frames to attach them). They sent a crew that acknowledged they had never installed these windows before. Then sent another crew that had no idea I was on the third floor. Finally after the windows were installed, I hear every noise outside like I have no windows at all. They never installed any insulation in gaps around windows. Altogether a horrible experience. I would not use them again and certainly couldn't recommend them.

"We have reviewed and investigated this complaint and found that this work was performed in 2008, not 2010, which was 6 years ago. Prior to this review the customer has never contacted our company with any complaint about the windows or workmanship. Had he done so, we would have certainly addressed his issues. Doug Jones Home Improvement Company has been in business since 1971 and continues to maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We take pride in our excellent customer service and workmanship. Mr. Walters windows were installed on the 3rd floor of a condominium building. The insulation around the window was applied around the window from the outside, thus not being visible from the inside of the condominium. The initial work crew that was sent to install the windows stated that they had not installed windows in this condominium complex before, not that they had never installed these type of windows. We have installed windows in this condominium building for other customers who have been very happy with our service."

David Motley was the Jones rep that assisted us with the selection process and gave us both pros and cons along the way. He was helpful, kind and courteous! Always punctual!
Brian and Greg did the installation. They were meticulous with their work and cleaned up completely upon finishing the job. They took pride in their job!! I would recommend all of these folks to future customers!!

They did an excellent job. The salesman was not high pressure and he fully explained their product. The installers were on time on the scheduled date, they did a great job installing the new windows, hauled off all of the old windows and cleaned up everything. I would definitely use them again!

I had Doug Jones Home Improvement replace 6 windows for me last year, so I am familiar with the company. The guys replaced the 6
windows last year in half a day. Last week they did the 4 in 2.5 hours. They will take shades down and replace them on the windows. The windows are top quality. It is very quiet in the house now and they do a great job of keeping heat and cool air in the house. A little pricy compared to some competitors but you get what you pay for. My neighbor has already told me twice that the windows look great. One thing that really sold me on the windows is the fact that the frames are insulated. A competitor told me this makes no difference but I wasn't buying that line. Free estimates and no pressure in the buying process. They will work with you on getting what you want, when you want it. Always a pleasure doing business with this company

We were so pleased, right from the beginning. The salesman was knowledgeable and professional and made a good appearance. After other companies price quotes, we were pleased with the cost.Then when the windows came in they adjusted the date for the install because we were due to have company soon. They were here when promised, friendly and busy as bees. The windows look great! Very little clean up for me. Doug Jones and company, thank you very much!!

They came when they said they were going to come...and they did what they said they were going to do. One of the windows was a complete reconstruction and when it was finished it looked original as though it had always been there. We will be using them in the future for additional work.

Prompt call back from initial call I made to schedule initial appt. Dave (sales rep) was extremely knowledgeable and patient with questions while still very professional. He is excellent representative for this company. Company and installers did exactly what they promised, when they said they would quickly and professionally with complete clean up!

The overall experience was fantastic. I would not use anyone else. The service he provided was exceptional. He was very professional, knowledgable, and thorough. I am getting ready to use his services again to install a new entry way. I would highly recommend his services to others.

I was happy with the sales presentation. There was no hard sell, just a quality product presented. The contract cost was, I believe, in the ball park of other companies replacement windows.
The replacement window crew arrived at appx. the time they indicated they would be here. They were very informative about what they needed to do inside and outside the house. To replace 12 windows took about 1 and 1/2 days. I believe the work done was quality work with quality parts. Upon completion, the workers cleaned up after themselves, replaced all window treatments, were pleasant to talk to, and informative about what happens next.
My only complaint was in the communication between the contractor, sales, and myself. Almost every communication between the contractor and myselt, I initiated. I feel like this is a big problem, and would make the buyer feel like he were important if improved upon.
I had one problem with one window and have been promised the window manufacturer would contact me about a fix. As of 10/13, I have not been contacted. Once again, my only complaint is communication. I'm not afraid it won't be taken care of, but feel the manufacturer needs to respond quicker. Despite this problem, I like what Doug Jones Home Improvement did and would use them again.

This is the second time I have used them. They are a great company. We had some problems with our gutters and they came out within hours to fix the issue. their prices are incredible.

The salesman was professional, punctual and not pushy to make the sale. He provided and left me an estimate to review and make a decision. The company purchases their windows from a local manufacturer and I liked the product compared to competitors in a similar price range. I was especially interested in the triple pane as my goal was noise reduction over energy efficiency. Throughout the process the salesman, installers and owner were very attentive and responsive to meeting my request on each and every detail. They measured, offered suggestions on configurations (awning, double hung, casement, etc.), placed the order and a few weeks later scheduled the install. Existing windows were prepped for removal and installed one at a time. This prevented the house from being open to exterior conditions as little as possible. The installation crew of two guys started early and worked conscientiously until all were in place. The following day they completed the interior work and the exterior aluminum trim, cleaned and hauled away old windows and waste. On payment they provided the warranty and information for energy credits when doing taxes. I wish every project went as smooth as this one did.

JUST A VERY NICE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH, USED THEM BEFORE. I HAD THEM DO MY SIDING IN MY SUNROOM. THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE. CALLED ME BACK TO TELL ME HOW LONG THE MANUFACTURER WOULD TAKE TO GET ME THE COLOR THAT I WANTED.

IF THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING DO A PARTICULAR THING ON A PARTICULAR DAY, UNLESS IT WAS RAINING, THEY WERE HERE DOING IT. THEY TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN THINGS TO ME AND MY HUSBAND. THEY WERE JUST A VERY NICE COMPANY AND I HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM TO OTHER PEOPLE. THEY WERE VERY GOOD AND PUNCTUAL IF THERE WAS ANY LITTLE PROBLEM SUCH AS A CRACK OR IF THE GUTTER WASN'T COMPLETELY LEVER THEY WOULD BRING A NEW ONE OR FIX IT. THEY WERE VERY NICE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH.
