Great service from the start. I had placed a call to Steve inquiring about services. He was very professional and was more concerned about the safety of my pets than the sale. On installation day they were on time and quick. Took the time to train all three of my dogs and made me feel comfortable using the new system. I had a follow up question that was promptly answered on my first call to Steve.

Derby's was great! We were able to get an estimate over the phone, which saved us the time of having to schedule an estimate. We us just purchase a house and we were eager to get the fence installed before moving. After getting the estimate, we scheduled installation for the next week. They were prompt on the day of installation, went over the whole process, and walked us through everything in the manual as well as training schedule. We were not left with any unanswered questions! We have been very happy with how our dogs have responded to the training. After some initial hesitation from one of our dogs, we followed the training schedule closely and both dogs are doing great! They have been off leash and didn't even come close to the flags. We are very happy!

Everything went great. Fence was installed quickly and installer explained the panel to us before he left. Trainer came next day to work with first dog and show us what to do to work with dog. Very professional, courteous, and answered all of our questions. Great experience. Would highly recommend to anyone.

It went very well. The install was performed quickly with no mess left behind. The training session with Steve (owner) was very helpful to both me and my dogs. There isn't anything I would have changed about the experience, it was completely positive.

Steve was very helpful when I first called and gave me an estimate. Due to weather, I had to wait a few weeks for installation. Steve and his worker came out one morning, and I showed him where the property line was. He placed flags with my help around the perimeter of the yard. His worker then used the machine to dig the trench and place the wires. The unit went into the garage with little hole in the siding that is water tight and barely noticeable. Where the wire crossed the asphalt driveway, they patched with a sealant that is not noticeable at all.
Within an hour of their arrival, Steve was fitting the three dogs with their collars (I got to choose different colors for each dog) and talking me through the training. He worked with me with one dog at a time. Each dog liked and trusted Steve immediately. Even when they got their first "correction," they still liked him. Each dog worked with Steve and then with me. None of the dogs had ever had a shock collar before.
The Derby's folder contained detailed instructions about the training routine and had a smaller, simple calendar to follow.
My dogs have only been "corrected" by the shock a couple of times during training. They stay clear of the boundaries even with all of the flags taken down. The last "correction" was with one dog at a part of the yard we rarely use when a neighbor walked over unexpectedly.
I like that my dogs can enjoy being with me all around the yard. I have just over an acre, but most of the yard is in the front. A physical fence would not have worked. The dogs are free to explore both the front and back yards. They know the boundaries and hear the beep before they get corrected. When they hear the beep (which is rare since they stay well within the boundaries), they immediately return to the safe zone.
I have not had to recharge the collars yet. I have a day marked on the calendar to charge the collars overnight. The collars simply rest on top of the unit in the garage and recharge for another several weeks. There is a small indicator light on the collar to let you know if it is charged. I really like that I don't have to worry about replacing batteries and that I can know if the charge is getting low.
We take the collars off each night and put them on in the morning. The dogs accept it as routine.
The only complaint I have is about the process, not Derby's. After the installation, we had a dry spell and the trench did not fill in very well. There are a few spots were I can still see the wire because the trench line is so wide. I will probably need to add soil to those areas. That is much better than having to use the weedeater around a physical fence!
I highly recommend Derby's Pet Fence and the underground fencing and collars they provide. It was worth the money to have a quality product with effective training methods.

Steve gave us an estimate which was far more reasonable than some competing estimates we received. They installed the system once our puppy was old enough to wear the electric collar. Steve showed our whole family how to train the dog to stay in the yard and gave us paperwork to follow. He did an excellent job! He also came by to repair a cut line and we bought replacement collars.
We love this system because it is more cost effective since we just charge our dog's collar every couple months. No need to replace anything! And, as a reminder, the system beeps if the collar is in need of charging. Love it!

It went very well, took only a few hours to install, then he trained our dog. Went over it with us, and a few months later we trained our new puppy.

Fence was installed in one morning. Steve was professional and explained everything very well. A year later the fence is working great - keeping both my dogs in the yard.

I chose this provider because of the recommendations of other members. They were right on. Quoted price over the phone. Came out in a timely fashion. Since installation he has answered all my questions. When we accidentally broke the fence line he came over and repaired the problem. I would recommend them to anyone needing an invisible fence.

It went great! The owner gave me an estimate over the phone based on my yard size and they came out, were punctual and informative and did the install in a relatively short period of time. There was no mess involved. Everything was explained to me in great detail and all questions were answered. The owner ran me through a training session and went over what I could expect during the training period. The brochure contained detailed information regarding the training and I refer to it several times to make sure I am on track. So far it is going extremely well. I'm only on day 2 and have a way to go, but my dog, a miniature Australian shepherd seems to be catching on really quick.
I am very pleased with my investment and think this will make owning my first pet very enjoyable knowing she can roam around my property and be safe and I won't fear her running away or wandering off and getting lost. My dog Lacey is a full-bred and very striking and I think if she ran off the chances of me getting her back could be slim as someone might keep her. So the fence gives me peace of mind.
I learned of Derby Pet Fence after seeing a brochure at my dog's vet. I am happy with my decision thus far and I love the fact that the collar can be recharged and I'm amazed that it only has to be charged every 60 days. I love there are reminders and the control box is pretty sophisticated along with the collar. You just sit the collar on the box for 8-12 hours for a recharge. How easy is that!

Great! Steve was punctual, friendly & knew his stuff. The job was thorough & he tested the boundary before leaving.
Derby's pet fence is the best pet fence company in Kentucky.
They seem to enjoy their work, and it shows.
Thanks.

The installation was quick and easy. They even took care of notifying the local utility providers who came out and flagged where their underground wires were. We had 30 days to test out the system before they charged our credit card. This fencing solution was a lifesaver. I can now let my dog, Bella, run around outside without watching her every second. She knows how far she can go and, until recently, did not try to go outside our yard.
In April, Bella decided to do some digging. She disconnected the fence wire from the house and dug up the wire that extended from the house. The system alerted us with flashing lights and an alarm. We called Derby's and they came out the next day to fix it. There was no charge as it is part of their one-year guarantee. It turns out my dog was the first to pull the pvc pipe from the wall. They bracketed the pvc pipe to make it hold and I added stones around it to keep Bella from digging there.
Last week, I found Bella in the neighbor's yard. She wasn't crossing the line in any other place but there. My husband tested the collar on his arm, and it was working, but Bella must have decided it was worth it to go see what was up next door. I adjusted the setting on the system from medium to high, but she still crossed over about three more times. I couldn't leave her outside alone any more. We called Derby's. Steve came out himself to change out our unit for a different one that allowed for a higher setting. He brought out his dog to help us test whether Bella would cross the line or not. At a 3 setting, she still didn't seem affected, but when we adjusted it to 5, she decided it wasn't worth the effort. (Bella is a 7-month-old puppy weighing about 75 pounds.) Once again, there was no extra charge. I would have paid it if there was just to keep my dog in the yard, but I am super happy that it didn't cost extra.
We love Derby's underground fence, their guarantee, and their awesome customer service. I would definitely recommend this company and their products to others looking for an alternative to regular fences.

Derby's invisible fence is wonderful. We had chosen another invisible fence company and after 5 days of problems we finally just asked for our money back. Their fence never worked properly and at times did not work at all. We called Derby's they came out the next day and we have had no problems since.
The collars are rechargeable with a blinking light that lets you know it is charged and working so you never have to worry. Any time we have had questions, or when we accidentally cut the wire they have always been extremely helpful. They are very professional. I would recommend them over any other company.

We have been very happy with our electric fence. Derby's fence has rechargeable collars, so you don't have to buy expensive batteries every few months. We had two training sessions, which was all we needed. We did end up buying more flags while we were training. We have a fairly big piece of property and found they were spaced too far apart for our dog to make the connection between the beep and the visual. Overall, though we have had no problems and our dog has stayed in the yard since our intial training (even with distractions). It was also significantly cheaper than the competition.

Steve and his crew were prompt, courteous and did what they said they would do. They went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied.
