Car runs great, but they had to keep over the weekend to complete.

great service - fair price and quality work

First I shopped around on price and found that this would be between $850 & $1200, so Conns was at the lower end of the range, but not the lowest, mainly because you pay retail list price for the Parts (can get on line for about $100 less), but you are also paying for the warranty. He would have installed parts I purchased on line, but would not warranty the parts (the manufacturer would) and I would have had to wait about 5 days to get the parts and the car was no longer drivable, so it would have cost me a rental or imposing on friends/family to drive me to work for a longer period of time. So I spent the extra $100 at this point. Then I did research on quality of the shops including but not exclusively Angieslist. I choose Conns Auto Shop because they had the highest positive ratings and the least negative ratings of all the shops in Louisville from all sources. I found the owner Dave Conn to be up front, forth coming and honest. He kept me informed throughout the process, which took about 2 days. The work is about a 7-8 hour job, but he also has to send out the flywheel to be resurfaced. While disassembling the transmission, they ran into a problem where it would not come apart. There were fibers from the clutch wrapped around some internal parts. Dave called me to let me know that they ran into this problem and that they will work through it, but could possibly damage some other parts. Later on he called me to let me know they got it apart without damaging anything else. This obviously took them more time then estimated, but he did not charge me any extra. This to me is the definition of customer service, something I have never had at an automotive repair shop or dealership. I have never said in my 40 years of car ownership that I was extremely satisfied with any car repair shop, so this is going to be a first. Dave was very professional and customer oriented. I will bring all my out of warranty car repairs to his shop in the future and will highly recommend him to anyone I know when they need car repairs.

Evaluations, in order of significance: Pros: 1. They were very fair on labor costs. They could have justifiably charged me more for labor than they did. 2. Excellent communication. They called me before doing anything, and explained clearly why the work needed to be done. 3. My car starts much more quickly than it did before, validating the necessity of replacing my distributor. 4. The 5% Angie's List discount really paid off! Saving $28 is awesome. Cons: 1. The markup on parts is a bit high. An Autozone distributor is $286, and garages usually get a discount because they buy lots of parts. Even if the part they installed is higher quality than the Autozone part and therefore cost more (very possible), they probably still got the part for about that price, because of the discounts they receive. A $65 markup seems steep when I'm already paying for labor separately. With that said, most garages do this, so I can't complain too much. Overall: I'm happy and I'll be going back.

They have it back before they were supposed to have it back to me. I was pleased with them.

Conn's is so trustworthy and very knowledgeable. I arrived to pick up my car at 5:20pm not realizing that they close at 5pm. Nevertheless, they kept the store open for me! I thought this was exceptional and representative of the type of business they have.

My experience went very well. The staff was personable, professional and knowledgeable in their field. The estimate was reasonable and I would recommend this company to others.

I have been using them for years. They always do a good job, they are very friendly, and they don't try to get you to pay for anything that you don't need.

Expensive, but thorough job. Workmanship is good, but be prepared to pay for it. Personally would rather pay more to get the job done right.

I should have been given the knowledge of all the trucks mechanical problems. next year.

Our Chrysler died on us and after reading good reviews on Conn, we had it towed there for repair. We had just got the car from a relative. When I told him what happened, he said that it was probably out of gas and that the gas gauge was faulty. So after we took a gas can over there and filled it up, it started right up. So we didn't actually have a chance to have these folks repair our car but they were very courteous.

The experience has been good. They are in the neighborhood so it is easy. I might be able to go somewhere else cheaper. They have been here a long time. If I need a ride, they will bring me home, which is very convenient.

They were reasonable and did a good job and just did what they said they were going to do. I would use them again.

They were good people. They are a family business. They sell auto parts and they have a machine parts. They have a body shop and they do auto services also. They are good mechanics. I was very happy with their services.

On Sunday I picked up a nail in my right rear tire and put the spare on. Monday morning I called Conn's to see if they could repair the tire and also change my oil. I dropped the car off Monday morning and a pleasant employee drove me to work from the service center (2 blocks) and came back to get me when the job was done. About 20 minutes after I left someone phoned to say the nail had gone through the sidewall so the tire wasn't repairable. He said he could get two new tires (so they would wear evenly) and put them on before I left work and I agreed to the price. When I picked up the car he said they had put the new tires on the front so the car would handle better, and both of the slightly worn front tires on the back. I was pleased that they had taken on that bit of extra work without charging me for it. In the end both the oil change and the labor cost were considerably less than I had anticipated, and the price for the two new tires was reasonable. I was pleased with the speed & care of the service, friendliness of employees, and the price and will return to Conn's when I need work done on my car in the future.

Very professional and quick! Explained what they did and why they did it. Very reasonable prices. Will definitely be taking my car back here in the future!

Wow, these guys are the best, they know there stuff.Kelly(?), helped me out of a jam in two ways. First, they were able to get a stuck halfshaft out of a hub that a previous shop had failed at! Second, they did the work imediately (remove replace and assemble) when I explained the time crunch I was in! (same half day service !) Fair, Honest and straight forward.....refreshing!

They were straight forward, honest and pointed out a mistaken part I had purchased and offered to help replace it.Fixed a couple of boo, boos I had made trying to do it myself. Had it done by lunch as promised and i dropped it off @ 8:15 a.m. ish.

They price was very good. I would use their services again in the future.

A couple of times I had them look over the car but they've only fixed it once. They've always directed me to someone who could because their basics are really good. They are very flexible about when they could do it. They gave me an estimate for $600 and they ended up doing it for $400. They also didn't force me for the estimate and I went to another place that wasn't on Angie's List. They are great. I've used them a couple of times.

These guys are terrific! I have never trusted an auto repair place like I do this one. They tell it to you straight and give you the right results. Very prompt and workable timetables around your shedule. Easy going and genuine professionals.

They have been maintaining my car for 3 years now. They have done a good job. Everything went fine. They did the lubrication and break job. They changed the fluids and the oil. They replaced a tail light. I have had them do body work and mechanic work.

They are honest and give great service. I would recommend them to others.

I have used them for 9 years for all auto repairs/service. I find them professional, trustworthy...they tell me if they cannot fix something, or if it would be cheaper at the dealers. Very friendly and honest...and quick service. I referred my family and friends to them for auto repair.
