After agreeing to the exorbitant price (simply because I was tired of getting estimates, they were already in the neighborhood, and reading Angie's list reviews) I was ready to move forward. I equated a premium price with a premium outcome, and I couldn't have been more wrong. This company/group of "painters" ensued in reeking havoc on my house and my life.
It quickly became very evident that Lee/Certapro had unleashed a group of unskilled workers/day laborers who had obviously never done this type of work before, a day in their lives. After being told that the job would take "about a week", the job took approximately a month to simply paint the trim and put the windows back on my house.
After DISCOVERING the FIRST broken storm window, I called Dana or Lee, who was quick to respond. I asked Lee point blank, "Is this a group that you trust can do this work?' My instincts and everything within me told me to fire this company immediately, but I decided to give them another chance (based on Angie's list reviews). The next day I discovered my landscape lights weren't working anymore, as one laid disassembled on the ground for no apparent reason. Again, I called Lee/Dana to complain. Lee responded with apprehension, as if I had broken my own lights. I was beginning to feel as if I was expecting too much or I was nit-picking.
Finally, after the 3rd or 4th day, I returned home to find the "PAINTERS" gone and ladders removed. Apparently, they were done, or SO THEY THOUGHT. During my inspection, I discovered that EVERY window was put back on the house WITHOUT CALK, without painted window sills, ill fitted with gaps that they wanted to fill with wood and calk, backwards, dirty, unscrewed (I'm still discovering loose screws on my window sills that weren't used) and just WRONG!! Again, I called Lee. Ultimately, I refused to let any of them work without Lee present. At that point I was totally convinced that not one individual in this group had done this type of work. Unfortunately, my home to too big/tall for me to see what type of paint job (if any) was given to top of my home AND I doubt very seriously that I was given 2 coats of paint anywhere on my house.
After the broken storm window was repaired by a hardware store, the "PAINTERS" returned. This time I discovered, as they tried to hide it, a broken frame. I completely lost it!!!! Lee was very apologetic as he listened to me yell and rant, on the phone, about the quality of work I was receiving and how I did NOT appreciate Certapro sending a group of guys to my house who had obviously NEVER done this work. They were dismissed AGAIN and told not to come to my house without Lee!!
In conclusion, I don't blame the laborers, but I do blame Certapro for hiring/using people to work, that have no knowledge, skill, experience, or pride in what they do. I also blame Lee for his lack of management. This company disrespected me by disrespecting my home with these day laborers wearing Certapro tshirts. I'm still finding areas that need touching up

"I am sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused during the project. We strongly believe we have addressed all issues and concerns identified through out the process while also delivering what we promised. In addition we also addressed and repaired pre-existing issues. Some of the pre-existing issues were created by previously improperly installed storm windows, along with condition of pre-existing rotting surfaces which we had no choice but to repair with caulk and putty since carpentry was not being pursued. I would like to point out that the majority of the storm window screws were replaced with new screws. The loose screws left on the sills were the old screws that were replaced, it was not acceptable to leave them there. I would also like to assure you that we did apply a full prime and a full finish coat on the entire project. A "two coat system", is our standard on all our exterior projects. As a matter of fact upon your request, we did repaint an entire area (per your line of questioning, to alleviate any doubt; in essence providing a 3rd coat at no extra charge) I can assure you, we do not hire Day laborers. All our painters are professionals and their main source of income is from painting. Besides hiring professional painters, all our projects get audited twice a year for insurance, and we pay taxes on all revenue. We are not perfect, but more importantly we accept our responsibilities seriously and will address concerns immediately and correctly."
All of the cleaning, prepping and painting was completed last week and we couldn't be more pleased with how nice the house looks. Lee came out on Saturday to check on the work and help us with one stuck window - he's also given me advice about appropriate paints, products and techniques for some interior work we plan on doing.
I would absolutely use CertaPro again for any future painting needs.

They worked hard for us. I really appreciate them. I will certainly have them do some job for me. But I was not so much delighted with the price.
