Budget Blinds of Louisville East

It looks great. We are still waiting on 2 headers that cover the top of the blinds.

This review needs to be prefaced by saying that we had installed white Hunter Douglas 2" faux wood blinds with valance in our previous house. Our previous house had 22 windows with blinds at a total cost of $3,662.13 including installation and removal of our old cheap metal blinds (or approximately $166.46 per window). We moved to Louisville and called several places about getting quotes for blinds. We went with Budget Blinds because they were able to come out the soonest to give us a quote and were able to install temporary blinds in our bedroom to hold us over until they could come out for install (about 2 weeks from quote date). Our bedroom faces the street and is on the first floor, so having something temporary was important to us. (Note: After going to the home improvement store, we see that you can pick up the temporary blinds yourself there if you wanted to). Rick determined the quote amount while he was out here, and we were so pleasantly surprised by the amount that we decided to do the entire house at one time (initially were only going to do the downstairs to spread out the cost). Communication was great, install was fast and on time, and there were no surprise costs. After living with the blinds for a couple months, they are inferior quality to the Hunter Douglas we used to have: not as smooth operation, flimsier slats, plastic knobs, etc (things that you would only notice by looking very close or using them daily). However, the cost for Budget Blinds was $1,099.06 including installation, or approximately $78.50 per window, which is significantly less than what we paid per window at our previous house. When we sold our previous house, we did not get a return on the Hunter Douglas blinds - no one cared about the name brand or quality as long as there was privacy. If we hadn't had the Hunter Douglas blinds before, I would never question the quality of the Budget Blinds we have now. The lesson - there was no need to spend that kind of money on Hunter Douglas blinds, especially if you plan on selling your house anytime in the next several years. The Budget Blinds are much more economical and provide the same privacy and look. We are very pleased with the result from Budget Blinds and will never go back to pricey name brand blinds again.

From the first time we had contact with Rick and Bev, they were a pleasure to work with!  Their response time was so fast, and they even came after work hours for the initial consultation.  On top of that, they were able to provide us custom plantation shutters for our large picture window and matching door and side window for the same price another company quoted me to install roller shades.  Rick was extremely patient in helping me pick out everything from color and style, to the size of louvre and direction of the openings.  Rick was out to install the shutters on the night of the same day they were delivered!!  He again went above and beyond, staying late into the evening to complete the installation.  We cannot be more pleased with our experience and are excited to use Budget Blinds of Louisville East again!  We have already passed along contact information to several family and friends!

We had just bought a newly remodeled home that did not have any window furnishings.  I found Budget Blinds both online and on Angie's List and they were able to come to our new residence within 1x week (before we had even closed on the home).  I had initially wanted a frosted window finish and standard wood blinds however, once looking at the samples, changed to select a combination of wood blinds, plantation shutters, and a roman shade for my back door.  Rick was extremely patient with us and showed us several(!) options to allow us to come to a decision on our own - my husband had a great time doing this!  The blinds came in as expected (Plan B was temporary shades, but the real shades arrived prior to our move-in).  Once the blinds were in, he only needed 1x day to complete all 16x window covering installations.
The only slight issue we had was when I reviewed the bill, I had found that we had been charged for 17x sets of coverings (we'd changed our mind when he was writing up the initial bill) and he send the refund on the same date with absolutely no hassle.
I really appreciate how quickly they were able to respond to our requests and how flexible they were with respect to the installation and felt that they run an extremely helpful and professional business and I would strongly recommend them to anyone friend or family member, and, if we move again, we will use this business again.

Our experience with Budget Blinds (Rick) was fantastic.  Rick met with me twice before we finalized our order and spent additional time helping me feel comfortable with our selection of shutters (the color, how it would fit our windows, et cetra) and provided lots of seasoned advice when needed.  He is determined to get the job done right the first time and it was completed to our satisfaction.  He knows his product and was able to give us creative ideas for some unusual features to our house that provided some limitations to what we could order.  He was professional and I felt that we got more than we paid for - not just the shutters but an expert to guide us.

As soon as the blinds were delivered, they were there to hang them and even patched holes we had made while hanging our drapes.   We never expected such a wonderful offer.  Very helpful with everything.  We love our blinds and the company was a real pleasure to work with.

Friendly, professional and efficient. Arrived on time with numerous samples and great materials.  Had great ideas and creative suggestions and worked with me to get the quality and color at a price that was very reasonable compared to other estimates. Despite our challenging windows, Rick worked on the install until he got it right. We really appreciated his professionalism and honesty as well as the quality and variety of materials available.

This was a great experience.  Rick came out and did an estimate on plantation shutters.  The estimate was very reasonable, so I paid a deposit to order the shutters and when they came in, Rick called to set up an installation.  He did all the work himself and did a very professional and clean job.  I had also spoken to Rick about some possible custom draperies for a large window in our living room.  His wife, Beverly, brought several samples of different materials and discussed ideas with my wife on how best to do the curtains in the living room. I will not hesitate to do business with them again. Rick and Beverly are two of the nicest and professional contractors that I have ever dealt with.  They are really good at what they do.  If you need shutters, blinds, curtains, or other window treatments, you will not go wrong by calling them.
