Auto-Sound

I selected Kyle's Auto Sound from a list provided by Sirius XM. Once I selected them, Richard Kyle (owner of Auto Sound) called me the next day to schedule the installation. I was impressed actually at how quickly they contacted me to schedule the install. My install was scheduled for 2pm on friday the 2nd. I arrived there at approx. 1:40pm, spoke with Richard Kyle about how they were going to perform the installation (i.e. where I wanted the radio in my car).
Everything went smoothly and the installation job is fantastic, however it did take them longer than expected to get my vehicle in the shop area to start the installation. I left their property with my radio installed at approx. 6:05pm. Most of the wait time was while they worked on other vehicles, once my car was actually back in the garage area, they had it ready to go in about an hour.
Would normally be fine with the time frame, but I was waiting there, had they explained it would be 4hrs I would have had someone pick me up and then gone back for my car once finished.
Overall, not a bad experience, I would definitely use them again, and recommend them to friends / family.

     In early 2006, I purchased a new Toyota Corolla from Toyota of Louisville on Dixie Highway.  When I told them that I desired tinted windows, they sent me to Auto-Sound with this admonition: "we send all our cars and customers there for tinting of windows, they will give you our special price".  Well, I went there and had my windows tinted on 01/09/2006, and have been very well satisfied with the tinting until recently.  When I paid for the tinting I was given two documents that stated that I had a Life Time Warranty on the window tint job.  Everything has been fine untill this summer (perhaps it was the heat?) when a bubbling of the tint occurred on the rear window.  It looks hideous and I took it back to Auto-Sound and asked them to look at it.  A gentleman named Richard (the owner - last name not given) agreed that the rear window tint need to be replaced.  When I showed him the original receipt that clearly stated "Life Time Warranty Tint", he said that this warranty included only the labor and that he'd do it but I would be responsible for the cost of material, approximately $20. When I protested and again showed him the original documents he stated that this no longer applies that now all the receipts state that the Warranty is for labor only.  I told him that I am living on a fixed income, that my money is small.  I then again showed him the original documents and I asked him if he really wanted to argue with me over the $20 material charge, he stated - yes. I told him it wasn't right but that I needed it done.

     So today, August 23, 2011, I dropped my car off to have the tint repaired on the rear window at about 09:15.  When I went back at about 3 o'clock the tint was fixed on the rear window and it looked just great.  When I went to get my keys, Richard, the owner, said that the charge will be just $10.00, that he'd "split the difference with me". 

     Now I know that this may seem like a small thing, however, there is a principal involved.  I do not want to quibble about the $10.00, but want to warn my fellow citizens that this businessman appears not to be an honorable man, is not a man of his word, and if he will take me for $10.00 on this small job, how will he act if there is a problem with a larger job?

     I appreciate you helping me to get the word out and to perhaps allow this business owner to explain himself.
