**DO NOT USE ADT** System regularly has issues and lord forbid you ever have to call them for help or technical support… forgot about it! 70+ minute hold times… “We will call you back” they will call you back with an automated dialer and put you on hold for 30+ minutes. Call back to get back in line?? Same treatment.

I have been overcharged by $972 by mistake after canceling my account prior to moving house. After 12!!! Months they admitted they made a mistake months later they send a check to the old address!! Even though they had been told several times. Now they will barely discuss and their attitude is confrontational even though they are at fault. DO NOT USE ADT!

They brought me out a new machine that could accommodate six cameras and no one knew how to work it. The installers had to keep calling in. When I called customer service, they would bounce me around to three or four different people because they don't know how to answer questions about it. That is really frustrating, especially when you come home and someone has stolen all the copper gutters off of your house. We couldn't see it on the tapes because the tapes only cover 10 days and we were gone for two weeks. That's all they will record and they have no back-up. It's very frustrating to spend all that money to install all that equipment and pay $57 a month, and then not have footage of it. I travel a lot, so the 10 days is not enough time. They also don't know how to work their own equipment. This is the third time they've been stolen. They're not informed enough about their own products.

The installer was very nice and very knowledgeable, but overall very poor because what they had told me on the phone was all incorrect. What I was quoted on the phone ended up being completely incorrect. Based on what I gathered, the installer said that is very common.

The sent me a flyer and I called on it and spoke with a woman to verify the things I was supposed to get and how it was going to happen. They were supposed to talk to me before installation to see if I liked it and if I did, I would purchase it. Instead they installed first before the consultation. Instead of talking to me after the installation they started the installation and then about halfway through one guy tried to sell me a little more than $1200.00 of other things. Also when I spoke with the lady on the phone, I asked them if I was able to get text messages about my system, the lady said yes. When they came over to install they wanted to charge me 150 activation fees to start that. The lady never told me that. When my wife gave her the credit card to process that, they started charging her monthly. The text message would increase my monthly rate by $5. Then today, from corporate, they called and said that because we are not doing it that way, When the guys did their installation they tore out some old wires from the previous security, they torn off some paint and left holes in my walls. Then I tried to call some people to have all this remedied. I had to call so many times; I spoke with at least 20 people at 4 or 5 different 800 numbers.  I spent ten hours one day and four hours another day. Then finding out that some of the people that I spoke with didn?t even do anything and don?t know who they are. There was a $99 installation fee, I?m supposed to get that back on a Visa card, the girl on the phone said the guys when they get here would have papers showing me how to do that, when they got here the guys said that I would get an email and have to print it out and send it in. I called to try to get this hashed out, one girl at 800 number will fill out paper for 99 refund, plus papers to give me $150, I?m not sure if that is going to happen. But they still kept the 5 charge on my bill. Today one of the ladies at corporate told me that because I am not taking it out on my CC I would have to pay a 3 month bill at a time with an extra dollar added to my bill. I was never told about that at my initial call. It was supposed to be $44.99 now it is $50.99. That is after I got a bill from them, 3 days after I had this installed for $69.99. They billed me for a half a month that I started. I was supposed to pick my bill date and I picked the 25th. On the 1st of the month they have already billed me. I?ve spoken to people at corporate and they made it seem like they were going to help me. One of the ladies who called me was the one who informed me about the 3 months at a time. Sometimes I would speak with a really nice person who seemed really good with the company and other times I would speak to an unhelpful person. They are a complete headache and hassle. They are looking to get into your door to run up a bill and tear up your house. I feel I should only pay the $44.99 instead of the $50.00. I wish I could have my monthly charges as $44.99 as they first said, instead of the$50.99, which they happily tacked on there after they destroyed my house over here. The installers said please don?t call the customer service number, call me directly.
The area where they installed the monitor, the floor has approximate 8 gouge marks in it.  Plus there is paint and dust that was never swept up.

7/10/14 Received letter from their local company to take care of the bill for the estimates.  I have just noticed that the top of the garage door is the same as the front door.

We had some alarms that we cause but we never had any issues with them. Their pricing tends to go up on occasion. If you just call them for retention, they will lower it down.

The sales clerk was on the line and he was really pressuring me to buy. I asked about a LED touch screen, and the supervisor said sure - the supervisor also said I'd receive a $99 Visa gift card to reimburse me for the LED touch screen purchase. However, when I was connected back with the sales clerk, the sales clerk said I’d only receive a keypad. When I called back later and asked the sales clerk what the price of the LED screen would be normally, the sales clerk said it would be way more expensive than the $99 Visa gift card reimbursement (the touch screen is normally around $700!) - they would've got me if I'd have signed the contract! The touch screen price did not equal the amount of the gift card they were going to send me.

I couldn’t even get them to come out to the house for them to give me an upgrade. We called for months and month; it was horrible. We then switched over to another company. They then started calling us after we discontinued our service.

ADT was very responsive for the initial sales call.  Their salesman came
up with a plan for motion and door sensors.  The salesman assured us
that the motion sensors were appropriate for animals, and would not be
set off by cats.  We have had continual problems with our cat setting
off false alarms.  Each false alarm costs us $100 from the local police
department.  We paid ADT to solve this issue once already.  We paid for
ADT to sell us new motion sensors one year ago.  However, this did not
solve the problem.  When I called ADT again to resolve this continuing
issue, I had to speak to 6 different people in order to reach the right
person.  I was surprised to learn that now the management of our account
has been moved to a SEPARATE COMPANY!   When I did reach a person at
this new company who could address our issues, they would not do so
without charging us an additional charge.  From our perspective, ADT
sold us a system that was inappropriate for our use and they did not
stand behind their services OR products.  I feel abandoned by ADT and
will never use them or recommend them again.  We are taking our business
elsewhere.  We are VERY disappointed with ADT's service and
professionalism.

I knew them before.  They were fine.  There was nothing that I disliked.  They were thorough.  They did the job and explained everything.  I was happy with them.  I would recommend them.  They are a little pricey.  I would use them in the future.

The first guy came out and he gave a really high quote. He was really pushy and really condescending. He treated me like I didn't know anything about motion. He was not a nice guy. I called to cancel and the manger got on the phone.  I stated that  we were trying to cut our expenses and would like to cancel. The quote for service was $38 per month. He dropped it down to $28. The manger sent out a different installer, who was nicer, but he sold us $300 worth of new equipment and we have never had to pay for new equipment before with the move package.

The estimator came and went like a whirlwind, never to be heard from again. I was surprised (well, maybe not "surprised" in these days and times) that I never received a follow-up call or a thank-you from the salesman/estimator. The installer was very nice, and it was evident that he was contracted out to do Brinks work, as I saw other business name on his vehicle. The installer was efficient and knowledgeable with his work, and gave me a quick 'training' on how to operate the system. I also received an owners manual and DVD (which I've yet to open either). I will shop around next time, when the minimum THREE year contract expires, mainly because I like to know that my business is truly appreciated with a follow-up call. This work was completed in September 2006.

IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. I AM WELL PLEASED. HE WAS THE MOST COMPETENT INSTALLER I HAVE EVERY MET. HE WASN'T THAT OLD, BUT HE REALLY KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE. THERE IS A MONTHLY CHARGE OF $35, BUT I FEEL IT IS WORTH IT.

THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE SYSTEM IS THAT IT HAS GONE OFF A COUPLE OF TIMES, AND WE HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY RESPONSE FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE WORKERS WHO INSTALLED IT WERE NICE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE WITH WHAT WOULD AND WOULDN'T WORK IN OUR HOME.

THEY WERE GOOD, BUT THEY WERE A LITTLE SLOPPY. WHEN THEY RIPPED OUT THE OLD CONTROL PANEL, THEY MADE A MESS AND LEFT WITHOUT CLEANING UP. WE DON'T FEEL LIKE GOT THE BEST DEAL. THEY ADDED THINGS WITHOUT ASKING US. WHEN I ASKED THEM ABOUT IT THEY TOOK THE EXTRA CHARGES OFF THE BILL.
