A Chimney Doctor

I had three estimates, his price was reasonable. Here is what I liked...he called 1/2 hour before arrival, very neat, cleaned up after themselves, all three people seemed interested in the job, cheerful employees, took pictures of chimney when bid, when cap was removed to replace found additional problem offered several options and price points to address the new issue, new pictures to show problem. Had to add two additional rows of brick. Keeps a stock of different brick in order to match existing brick. My home is an odd brick and the house is sixty years old so this was a worry. The verdict you can not tell this is not the original brick, matches perfectly. Another thing which is small but major to a home owner, a gizmo, which makes it easier to but the hose on and off the faucet instead of twisting it on, on the faucet broke. They had used the hose and they told me about the gizmo. They were going to replace. The gizmo was old and showing its age and they certainly could have pointed this out but they didn’t use this as an argument. It was old and I will replace it myself but appreciated they told me about it. Insured and all the normal stuff you ask for, but for reasons detailed above would recommend.

We have a wood burning fireplace and he comes and checks it. He was awesome. I'll be using him again. They did an excellent job; they did. Overall, everybody's been so good with cleaning and leaving that area clean.

Brian was clean, thorough and nice to work with. Called prior to arrival, cleaned up when finished and asked if there was anything else I needed. Great guy!!

Work was done satisfactorily and efficiently, even in cold weather. The work was done in mid-December. It should be noted however, halfway through the job, we learned that this company does not take credit cards, only cash or a personal check

There were a couple of minor leaks afterwards, but, when I told him about it, he came right over and said he will "take care of us." He repaired the remaining minor leaks at no further cost and now we have a leak-free chimney! Obviously, Brian and his team care about their customers, and consequently, I would recommend Chimney Doctor to anyone.

Original call was to evaluate chimney and existing caps to see what could be done to keep wasps out.  Brian took pictures and showed existing damage to chimney and several large open gaps.  He presented a suggestion of repairing the damaged areas and installing new locking caps that completely seal the chimney.  Brian came out and made the repair and left everything clean and orderly.  Brian was very comfortable to work with and explained everything.  He gave alternative options to choose from and explained the pros and cons of each.  
I am very glad we found him in the Angie's  book.

Brian was on time, on budget and very professional. We discussed all work in detail prior to beginning the job. He was able to complete all work in the projected time frame and I could not be more pleased. I would recommend him to anyone in need of masonry/chimney work. Well done.

Told us the reason for our leaky roof was that there were gaps in mortar on stonework. Cancelled once because he wasn't feeling well. Told my husband he was going to Home Depot to get sealant. Then said he would have to go somewhere else as the Home Depot was out. Service completed, paid $1500.00. Roof leaked again the following spring. Called him and he came out again and sprayed sealant on chimney. We contacted a new company to look at chimney, because it was leaking for a third time. They informed us that the chimney chase cover needed to be replaced and that someone had sealed the chimney with the wrong sealant. The sealant should have been a solvent based. They said what was used was not professional grade, simply something that was purchased over the counter. I contacted the owner, Brian, he said there was no way. I requested a refund and he refused. Will be contacting attorney generals office of consumer protection. Do NOT use this company.

They did what they told me they were going to do. They had to postpone the project due to rain which I understood. They were very nice and professional. They checked out both of my fireplaces as well. They told me I needed to have my gas logs done and gave me some referrals since they do not provide that service.
