Wildcat Construction

DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! EXTREMELY INCOMPETENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I hired Wildcat Construction to build a new 22'X12' ground level deck. The proposal stated "install plastic and gravel under deck". I've had constant moisture issues with the deck. Stain would not adhere properly constantly peeling. I noticed a ton of insects especially mosquitoes fly up between the decking. There is now a gross mold smell admitting from below. My curiosity had me remove the first section of decking to see what the issue was. They DID NOT install any gravel or plastic underneath the entire deck. They installed all of the floor joists directly in the dirt and mud causing the above issues. I immediately contacted Jab (owner) to discuss the issues. He agreed to come over and look. He also verbally agreed (which I recorded) to remove all of the decking, install plastic/gravel underneath and reinstall the existing decking. I was not very happy with this response considering the amount of black mold covering all of the wood below. He wanted a representative from 84 Lumber to come to see if they would warranty any of their product. The day Wildcat Construction and 84 Lumber come over to assess it had rained the night before. Upon inspection 84 Lumber stated "this entire deck was installed against manufacturer's recommendations and MUST be replaced". He went on the state that you CANNOT install pressure treated lumber directly on dirt without the proper underlayment. 84 Lumber also stated they (wildcat construction) should have installed landscaping fabric and at least 2" of gravel prior to installing the new deck. Jab (owner) immediately disagreed with 84 Lumber and told me to go F-myself and he wasn't doing anything. He stormed off like a child cursing all the way to his car. I have contacted him twice asking what he was going to do do. He told me to go and call a lawyer. See you in court Jab
