As Lexington's ONLY TCIA accredited tree service, Town Branch Tree Experts, Inc. is Lexington's leader in Tree Care. We have six ISA Certified Arborists, one of Kentucky's few Board Certified Master Arborists, two Certified Tree Care Safety Professionals and multiple Tree Risk Assessment Qualified arborists on our team. We think this really sets us apart and signifies our level of professionalism and our commitment to service and safety. We're a small, locally-owned family operation and we're proud to be doing good work in our community! We are not your run-of-the-mill tree people. We strive every day to be true professionals and we're passionate about the work we do. While we perform all aspects of tree care, we focus on preservation and making sure your trees are a healthy, vibrant part of our collective urban canopy. Here's how it works: Once a request is made for a free estimate, one of our arborists will evaluate your trees. We'll either leave an estimate at the time of our visit or we'll send one by email for you to review. Let us know if you have any questions. Unless you specifically request it, all brush and branches are chipped and removed from your property. We strive to leave your yard in excellent condition before we leave. Invoices are due upon completion of the work and, as a small business, we REALLY appreciate your prompt payment. With all of our work, your satisfaction is guaranteed! Services we don't offer

Stump Grinding. We never, ever "top" trees! Topping is an indiscriminate method of reducing the size of a tree's canopy and it's harmful for the health and structure of the tree. Experienced and skilled arborists can reduce a tree's size (to a degree) without causing harm. For lawn or landscape service that we do not provide, we're happy to refer a reputable colleague.

Description of Work: I've had them trim tree branches, remove small trees, care for an ailing tree the City planted, and had them remove old shrubs and plant three shrubs on the shady side of the house. Over the years their service has gone from very good, to not good, so I gave them the C rating. The last thing they did, planting the shrubs was done with the understanding that this was a shady side and I needed plants that would be okay there. Less than a year later, one plant was dead, one was fine and one was so-so. I asked them to come out and take a look but they said it could have been the winter that killed them or I didn't water them enough etc. It was my feeling that if one had made it fine, and the other was struggling but better than dead, then the reason for the dead one wasn't with me. They didn't see it that way, so didn't do anything. Also, in the more recent years, their response time hasn't been so great and they are expensive, but if you get good service for your money, it's okay. I didn't feel I did, so I found other providers.

Thanks for your comments, [Member Name Removed]. As a rule, we generally do not plant shrubs because there are so many variables involved in their establishment. We also only guarantee the trees we plant which are cared for under a maintenance plan. This wasn't applicable for some small flowering shrubs. When we originally gave you a recommendation of the azaleas, we didn't plan to plant them and we also explained that different cultivars of azalea are more hardy than others and more suited to our climate. The azaleas that you chose were based on color, not hardiness. The winter following the installation of the shrubs was one of the coldest on record for our area and many plants did not survive it. It had nothing to do with with the quality of the plant material or the quality of the workmanship. It was an act of nature. The azaleas also lined the driveway that you share with your neighbor. Any salt or ice-melt, or simply being buried in ice and snow for weeks would've certainly had a detrimental impact as well. We explained all of this to you when you contacted us in the spring and, when we came by to check on the plants, they were winter-injured but not dead. While I do apologize again that we didn't meet your expectations, I think they were set artificially high. We can't control the weather and there is not a single contractor, nursery or landscape company in Lexington that I know who can guarantee sensitive plant material to survive sub-arctic winters. I'm disappointed that a C rating was given here, in light of how much other work we've performed on this client's trees, working in very tight quarters in a courtyard, over neighbor's driveway, etc, with never any issues, problems or concerns. I hope readers of this review will consider that our A rating elsewhere is more indicative of the standard of work we perform. When we do encounter issues, which is rare, we really do our best to communicate, provide support and make sure that our clients' experience is a positive one.

Description of Work: TBTE cut down one tree, ground the stump and large root. A portion of the wood chips were left for my use and the site was cleaned up. TBTE had done several prior jobs and this one was as professionally done as were all the others. I will contact them again for further work on the yard.

Description of Work: The two men who did the trimming were very skilled and efficient in their work. They asked for my input about how much I wanted them to trim from the lowest branches. They took their time in shaping the weeping cherry tree well as they trimmed it. They cleaned all the debris up afterward. I appreciated the care they took in doing excellent work.
