Sharon helped give us in depth background information about the current marketplace and about specific homes and neighborhoods we were considering. Because we were out of state, she toured several homes and sent us videos so we could get a better feel for the layouts of the homes.
Even though it's unusual, we ended up buying a home without seeing it in person first -- many of our favorite houses were selling within in days and when we saw this one hit the market, we didn't want to miss out.
Sharon handled everything that needed to be done in our absence -- scheduled an inspector, measured some rooms and helped us find a great lender who saved us 1/2% off the interest rate our other lender was going to give us.
The home is wonderful and we would recommend Sharon to anyone who needed a professional, helpful realtor.

I had it listed with the neighborhood’s best known, biggest sales volume realtor who had it for over 6 months and couldn’t get it sold. Yes, it was during the market crash of 2008 – 2009, but Sharon staged the house and it sold in 27 days for 97.6% of the list price! Sharon handled the negotiations and the closing well. I saw the other reviewer's F rating and am certain there's no way that Sharon would behave that awful way; she was nothing but professional, helpful, responsive, positive, efficient, and, most importantly, effective.

Despite a steep driveway and the real estate market crashing in early 2009, the house looked GREAT and sold in 94 days for 98.7% of the list price! The realtor who sold the house when it was new, in the peak of the market in 2004-06, took 5 days short of 2 years! Sharon handled the negotiations and the closing well; I was 6,000 miles away during both.
I saw the other reviewer's F rating and am certain there's no way that Sharon would behave that awful way; she was nothing but professional, helpful, responsive, positive, efficient, and, most importantly, effective.

We contacted Sharon about the possibility of selling our home and buying another. We took many of her suggestions on improving our home, some of which went well, and some went very poorly. I felt like our home was an experiment for some new things she was trying, which I didn't like. We ended up deciding not to sell but to rent and to proceed with buying another home. So to be fair, we didn't finish the home staging process. We found a home we liked and put an offer on it. The seller's agent is not someone I would recommend either, she didn't seem to have it together, but Sharon didn't have any patience with her. It took a while and created strained relations between the agents, but we finally came to an agreement and got a contract signed. As with all home buying processes, there were some delays. So we ended up having to renegotiate the contract, and before we had even heard a word from Sharon, our loan officer had to tell us that the two agents' relationship had degraded to such a state that they refused to speak to one another! It was like 3rd grade all over again!!! The loan officer graciously stepped in and tried to mend things so that we could get this process back in gear. The two agents could not work together at all and we ended up not getting another contract on this house with Sharon as our agent.
I felt like we were paying Sharon to represent us to this seller, and I wanted her to represent us well. I was very disappointed. There was name calling going on, and the agents were even hanging up on each other! This is NOT the manner in which I wish to be represented. I'm actually very embarrassed that my name was associated with that transaction at all. I would NOT recommend anyone to deal with Sharon Roark in the real estate business. It is the crux of her job to be able to work with other people, which clearly she can not.

Response from SHARON ROARK
"This report is written by someone who refused to follow the staging recommendations to get her home sold and who also failed to qualify for the loan, which ultimately prevented her from buying the home she wanted. It is unfortunate that this happens sometimes, but it's not your realtor's fault when it does. Furthermore, her characterization of the events that transpired was grossly inaccurate, due in large part, I'm sure, to her frustration with her inability to qualify for a loan. I hope in the future she is able to straighten things out and get a home that makes her happy."

Sharon was extremely professional, thorough and effective. She went the extra mile for us from Day 1 and continued to provide great support even after closing. I have never worked with a better real estate agent. I rarely give straight "A's" for services, but Sharon deserves it.

Sharon is a great agent and a great home stager. She staged, listed and sold our house all within a few weeks of our contacting her and then she helped us negotiate a great deal on our new house. She was courteous, professional and very knowledgable in all her dealings with us. We originally read about Sharon in a story in the Herald Leader about home staging. We had previously had our home listed with another agent last year who did an okay job, but the house didn't sell.Sharon helped us see how some of our decorating choices weren't making the best of our house's features and she helped us redecorate or "stage" the house so it would be more appealing to buyers. We got two offers within two weeks of putting the house on the market and were able to sell for full price, which we considered a miracle in this market. And having had the house previously listed with another agent, I can tell you that staging made the world of difference in how quickly our house sold. Once we sold our house, Sharon helped us located several good options as far as new houses in the school district we wanted to be located in. She researched the history of the house, helped us figure out what was a fair selling price and helped us negotiate what we thought was a very good deal. I would highly recommend any of my friends or family use Sharon either to buy or sell a home -- she's just the best!

I sent in an information request from the Remax web site. She responded within an hour within a very professional email thanking us for our inquiry. She also promised that my email address wouldn't be given to anyone else, and that she would continue sending us email only with our express permission. Well, after getting endless spam from virtually every other web contact, her promise made her stand out, and we decided to give her a shot. She stayed in regular email and phone contact with us over the next few weeks, and eventually we scheduled a trip to the area to view the houses we had put on our list of contenders. One of the first houses Sharon showed us wasn't actually on our list, but it was a house she had come across on her own and thought it just seemed like the type of house we'd been describing. She was right. None of the other houses compared to this one as far as we were concerned. She helped us negotiate an excellent price, and we would definitely call on her again.
