Plumbing Systems was very competent, prompt, dependable, trustworthy and the staff provided TOP QUALITY customer service!
The home service location was in KY; I live in Georgia; I found Plumbing Systems on Angie's List; contacted them on Friday afternoon and they were there first thing the following Monday morning. Their technician had to travel 20 miles out of town; and they got the job done- on time!
I highly recommend this company and would use them again.
They cut drywall in places didn't need to be cut. They were going to leave a large elbow pipe because they couldn't get it removed (major hole in that pipe). Pipes they replaced in the basement had to be redone. Pipes near washer were not to code. They left all supplies to be used outside over night (tenant in the house brought them inside I sure they wouldn't have been there in the morning) They also left the house unlocked and back door open when they left the first day
I fired them had to hire another plumber to fix their mess and had the extra expense of major drywall repair.
I would never have called these clowns twice, but I had to use them under my former home warrantee. The first time I called to unclog my washer drain the and quot;plumberand quot; claimed that there was nothing he could do. I called another plumber and he fixed it immediately. When I needed our hot water heater replaced the and quot;plumberand quot; first tried to install a 40 gal rather than a 50 gal tank, and then set up the emergency drain so that I have a ridiculous pipe running about chest high in the middle of my basement.
My issue was with the estimates and my perception of what I witnessed actually happened. They gave me the estimates. Each time they were here, it did not take anywhere as long as they estimated, usually less than half the time. They made 3 trips out here in what I felt could of been 2 (they did not anticipate to bring the suspected parts to repair the shower, even though he told me what he thought it was when he inspected it on the first trip, and he was right). So they charged me for the estimated hours even though it took a lot less and they added their own extra trip.
Also, they had a plumber's helper ride with the plumber all 3 trips and charged me for him. The first trip was to give me an estimate, I assumed the helper was with him because they came from another job. Not knowing plumbing, I expected these were repairs requiring the assistance of the helper. I witnessed all 3 visits, there was only maybe 5 minutes where the plumber used any assistance, someone to hold the shower drain while the other hooked it up from the basement ceiling. This was a task the home owner could of done or at the very minimum, only charge me for his 1 visit, everything else seemed like the helper being a trainee.
As far as responsiveness, the only knock was when I called about the invoice, they said they'd look into it and call me back the next day. They did not, and I had to call them back the following day.
In all fairness to the company, the billing person/manager did lower the invoice over $100 after much discussion, and she was friendly throughout as we discussed the validity of each others points. Even though I may of felt a bigger credit was deserved, I do appreciate a company that was willing to listen to me and make an invoice adjustment. Although she never backed down from her company's point of view, I believe she found a way, out of courtesy, to appease the customer. Also, the plumber was very helpful in answering my questions about other home repair issues that they could not directly help me with (i.e. gas fireplace, etc…) but his recommendations were spot on.
They certainly helped us in a time of need and they were prompt, this all happened during the freeze and I am sure they were swamped.
They did show up late for installation, but I figured with the up coming holiday and the back and forth with my home warranty company that it was understandable.
The plumber replaced the section of pipe - 3 times. The first two times, the 'repair' started to leak immediately, in one case gushing water all over the bathroom. This is before the repairman ever left. The third time, he replaced more of the piping with all copper. It appears to be holding, I hope.
Then, after cutting all these large pieces out of our wall, he announces and quot;We don't fix that.and quot; Great. We're still trying to get them to hold in place. If we were handy, we wouldn't have called a plumber.
Final insult- we were charged about $80 more than quoted over the phone, because the pipe ended up being in a location that was and quot;hard to get to.and quot; It was next to the toilet. I would have thought a plumber would be familiar with working next to a toilet.
The upshot- the price was ridiculous for the work performed, and they left a huge mess in our bathroom that we are still trying to fix. No way would I recommend them.
