It is a small clinic. They treat your pet like it is a member of the family.

We have been going to them for over 8 years. I have taken Alaskan grey parrots, cats and dogs to them. They really care about the animals. I feel like I am in a more family atmosphere than a business. They really love their animals and it's not just a business. They are very courteous. Their prices are highly competitive. They are very knowledgeable. They have real good bunch of employees that work there.

The appointment went great! The front desk was extremely friendly and personable. Once inside rm to be seen tech asked all sorts of questions and listened to my concerns checked out my cat then went to consult with Dr. Gravatte. Dr. Gravatte came in and checked my cat out and we discussed options for her care that would be non invasive and things he had had excellent results with in the past. He discussed reasons why we should go this route instead on another and was extremely patient answering my questions and concerns etc... My cat was given antibiotics which I would administer at home and a follow up appointment was requested to make sure she was proceeding as planned.
Cat is doing fantastic just like Dr. Gravatte said she would. I was pleased with the quality of care given and the time that was spent with me and my cat. I felt like she really mattered and my concerns were valid and respected.

From my experience Pennyroyal is the best. All the staff are very professional and knowledgable in their area of expertise. The techs are outstanding and caring. Same can be said for the vets as well. As mentioned previously, I see Dr Garrison mostly and she is a knowledgable, caring veterinarian who doesn't hesitate to do research if your animal presents with symptoms that are difficult to assess. If you have a pet that is considered an exotic, please seek treatment from a vet who knows how to treat them. Pennyroyal sees dogs, cats, ferrets, hedgehogs, rabbits, other small animals, reptiles, lizards, turtles and all sorts of birds. Their prices are within reason, given that they are good at what they do. I wouldn't take my ferrets to another vet just because they were cheaper. I want my ferrets to have the best of care and I feel like I get that care at Pennyroyal.

They've always been caring and right on-focus with me. Avian vet care is expensive no matter where you go; Pennyroyal has always given me options when options were available, to help me save money. I cannot say enough kind things about the entire staff at Pennyroyal during one of my parrot's illness and death. They were efficient, compassionate, and always available for both me and the bird. Dr. Lacki went out of her way to research problems and offer solutions; Megan, Megan, Cathy, Carla, Donna, Ronni, and all the rest of the staff were professional and warm, and helpful. I've worried a lot since Dr. Z moved away, but I think she's left Pennyroyal in good hands.

My 14 year-old Persian cat, Merlin, was not just my pet and companion, he was the closest thing to a child I will ever know. When his health started declining, I was referred to them by my regular vet in an emergency situation with the highest degree of confidence. From the first visit, I understood why. To say they were accommodating is an understatement; never did I get the sense that I should feel they were doing me a favor. Instead, I always feel as though they understand how important my baby was to me. Never did they treat Merlin as "just another cat", they made an effort to "understand" him and his personality. It was the most wonderful experience to see everyone who interacted with him seem to immediately and instinctively begin to "get to know" him while taking the very best care of him. I always felt completely informed of Merlin's condition, had every treatment option explained to me in a way or until I felt absolutely comfortable I understood them and never felt pressured to choose one over another. However, any time I asked for advice or assistance in making my decisions, the counsel I received was outstanding. I never felt my decision was influenced or manipulated, only more confident in the decisions I made. Another wonderful experience was the follow-up. I would almost always receive a phone call from one of the vets or their outstanding staff within a day or so of Merlin being seen at Pennyroyal. They will always take the time to explain everything to you and provide you with an estimate prior to any treatment. You can feel absolutely confident Pennyroyal will do everything in the best interest of your pet, not their bottom line. Quite often, the final charges were less than the estimate. I appreciate that they will base their estimate on essentially the most they may have to do. For example, if they believe your pet could required as many as 3 doses of a medication, the estimate will reflect that, even if it's far more likely only 1 or two will be needed. I also found they will never do anything which is either unnecessary or would in no way benefit your pet just because it was on the estimate. When I realized euthanasia was going to be a very real possibility, I could not have dreamed of a better place or more compassionate group of people to surround my baby, my husband and myself with. I will be forever thankful to Alisa, Christine, Dr. Lacki, Dr. Z, Dr. Keough, Kathy, Megan, Carla and Frank for their kindness, compassion, hugs, tears and words of wisdom and condolences throughout one of the most difficult times in my life.
