Meserve Contracting

Great! Kyle Meserve and his team are professional and perfectionists. The demo and install took less than a week and they kept the inside very clean. I love my double sliders and would recommend Kyle to anyone.

Where to begin... I choose Meserve Contracting, Kyle Meserve, because he had done an energy audit at my house the year before and after the work they did in insulating the entire home and overseeing the installation of a new HVAC system I have seen over $100 a month drop in my heating and cooling bills. He also informed me of energy programs at the state and helped me fill out required documents to get rebates on the entire project. Between the rebate and the drop in my bills I will see a return on my investment in just a few short years. Based on this experience I called the company when we needed to make improvements to my grandmother's home in another town. We had already hired a local HVAC company to install the new HVAC system, but Meserve Contracting came in and performed the blower door test and inspected the home and system to give recommendation on what type of system to choose based on the local energy providers and the age of my grandmother. After the HVAC team finished Kyle and his team came to the home and inspected the work and made recommendations for the HVAC team to have a final install that would meet his recommendations. As for the specific work preformed by Meserve Contracting: Kyle inspected the attic and found a square foot hole in the kitchen where a range hood had been vented years before and it had not been sealed when the old hood was removed. He repaired the hole that led into a cabinet and sealed the area. He also made several other repairs in the attic. Originally the plan was to install insulation, but after his inspection he recommend to hold off on that improvement until after we updated the wiring as it would not be cost effective as the wiring runs through the attic and we would have to move the blown insulation to repair the wiring. Instead of insulating at this time he recommended painting the old ceiling tiles to seal the holes which were allowing the airflow, which has worked wonderfully. He also installed additional insulation on the hatch that goes to the attic. Two of the older windows had window air conditioners that we wanted to remove. After running the cost of rebuilding the windows he recommended high energy efficient windows premade that blended with the existing windows. When they removed the old windows they heavily insulated the area around the windows before installing the new. Not only are these windows a huge improvement, but they actually open which none of the other windows in the home do these days. They also installed two storm windows in the kitchen area where the air literally blew in during the winter months. Kyle and his team sealed every window, door, around the ceiling edge and anywhere else there was airflow in the home. They also worked with us to install a spring cover on the old fireplace chimney, so that my grandmother could still have a fire if needed. Finally under the house Kyle inspected all the work done by the HVAC team and met with them to make improvements in some areas. Kyle also sealed under the home and replaced the old wooden doors that covered the holes to enter under the house and replaced the vents to auto vents so we would no longer have to close and open as seasons changed. What has impressed me the most about working with Meserve Contracting is of course the results, we have seen an amazing improvement in the quality of the air and the even temperature of my grandmothers home. She commented that this has been the first winter she hasn't shut half the house off to save on heating costs, and yet her bills have gone down this year. For an 87 year old woman that is still very active and likes to keep her home up this has been a wonderful experience. Along with results, Meserve Contracting has worked with me on my schedule so that I could be involved in every part of this project and my home projects. They have explained why they were doing something on the job and if I ever had questions they took the time to talk to me about my concerns. They actually evaluated the home and didn't just make recommendations that would help them make the most (i.e. putting insulation at my grandmother's now), but instead talked to us about our longterm plans and took that into consideration for the project. They even took the time to fix many of the small items that a previous contractor messed up when we did my grandmother's bathroom remodel a few years ago. I have just been extremely pleased with the professionalism, quality of work, and the overall experience working with this team and would recommend them to all my friends and family.
