Merry Maids of Lexington

0/10 recommend. The first time they came a few months ago, they were supposed to do a “deep cleaning”...they didn’t even sweep or mop the kitchen floors. Fast forward to Tuesday 9/22/2020, we just had them clean, I worked all day and my boyfriend left the home. I come home to find jewelry missing. I searched my entire apartment time and time again. It was inside of a ring dish. I called within their 48 hour window. It took them until 9/25/2020 for them to call and tell me they will not do anything about it and to file a police report. The manager claimed she “checked the vacuum bags”, sis you need to check your employees. After they’ve strung me along three days saying they would “ask their employees” Very unprofessional and will likely steal from you. Will not let you cancel your contract after THEY STOLE FROM YOU. This place is a joke.

Friendly,and professional crews have cleaned my house.

First time several items were not done as I would have liked. The office was very apologetic, noted what my concerns were and made sure the situation was corrected for the next cleaning.

We use this company repeatedly.  They come to the house every two weeks and do a very thorough cleaning.  We are always pleased with the quality of work and the professionalism of the staff.

Phyllis at Merry Maids has been cleaning and straightening our house for many years.  She does such a great job that I refer her to friends who are in need of help with housecleaning.  She is a very caring person and we consider her family.  She cheerfully cleans the house which has lodged up to two golden retrievers (think hair and lots of it!), two messy adults (okay, maybe only one messy adult) and a small child that is not good at putting things away.  She leaves very considerate notes and lets us know when we are running out of paper towels, garbage bags, etc. If we leave clean sheets/duvet covers out, she changes those.  She is wonderfully sweet to my dog, who really looks forward to her weekly visits.  She does a great job at window cleaning as well if you add that on.  I really decorate the house for Christmas and she is extremely careful with all my decorations.  She does quite a few small things that you would not expect if she has time, like washing dishes left in the sink.  She takes out the garbage and the recycling.  I look forward to cleaning day because the house looks wonderful and smells clean.  I really don't know what we'd do without Phyllis.  She is an outstanding person and friend, in addition to being a superb and professional housecleaner.

I also want to compliment Missy and Linda who coordinate the visits.  They are very professional and try to accommodate requests for schedule changes.  They always call on the few occasions that Phyllis cannot clean at the regularly scheduled time and are so helpful. This group is made up of very special people and I can't recommend them highly enough.

She knows everything about our home and what to do. If we need to schedule a last-minute cleaning, she knows where everything is. The office staff is very friendly and easy to work with. Can't recommend them enough!

Overall I have been super pleased with Merry Maids.  My team of Renee and Cassie were the first to "Spring Clean" my house.  They were here for quite a long time. They started with the ceilings and ended with the base boards!  I continued the bi-monthly cleanings and I have been super pleased.  Having the same team each week enables them to deep clean one room when they are here.  My house stays cleaner for a longer periods of time!

Over past several years, our cleaner has been punctual  and dependable.  Requires little supervision and never a correction over method.

We know we can count on superior service and be proud of our home's appearance.

Whitley and her coworker showed up at my house right on time. I went over everything with them and they got right to work. They actually finished earlier than I thought they would. When I checked the house it looked fantastic! The fixtures in the bathroom were shining like they were new. My house hasn't been this clean in years. So happy with their work !

I am very particular on how my house gets cleaned. Sharon is absolutely wonderful. She cleans my house the way I would. Very detailed and I never have to worry if its done the way I want it to be. I highly recommend her!

Amanda is always on time with a good attitude.  I have used for 7 yrs.  I appreciate all she does.

Sharon Cox has been the one I have requested. She is very professional and a great worker. I am always sad if for some weapon Sharon can not come, but the agency has always sent a replacement with whom I have been satisfied.

They clean the entire house but the windows are not included. On their initial visit, they cleaned the windows but on their next visit they did the basic services. I chose them because I thought I can trust them. I do a background check with their employees, they are bonded so I'm having them come to my home.

The first service they provided 2 ladies came to my home and cleaned for 4 hours. The second time, 2 ladies came for 1 hr and 25 mins and just left. I called the company and told them to cancel my contract. A manager that I was speaking with stated that he'd be sending 2 ladies that were in the area that I'd be able to get along with as they were hillbillies just like me. They sent 2 more ladies that same day and they cleaned for another 3.5 hours. Those ladies revealed that things were not really cleaned. They showed me the mop heads were black and they hadn't dusted anything. They didn't clean the toilets or around them. The second set of ladies did a wonderful job cleaning up after the first hadn't done a thing. I did let them come a third time, they stayed 1.5 hours and left. I cancelled the contract after the third time. They tried to tell me I was under a contract and was obligated to pay. I let them know that they were under a contract as well and that was for my house to be cleaned. The manager is rude and I am currently looking for another company to do my cleaning.

I first had them come out for an initial deep clean when we first bought our house. I signed up for the one year contract so that the deep clean wouldn't be almost $500. I have a 2500-square foot house, and they said it would be $116 biweekly, or I could do a monthly clean for $225. I signed up for biweekly, since it obviously wouldn't be economical to do monthly. The first few times they came, I was satisfied. I knew they didn't do any windows at the base price. Everything else was fine. Over the course of the year, though, things became less consistent. They used to send 2 people, and it took them about 2 hours to clean. I thought that was reasonable. Over time, they ended up sending 1 person, and it took her only 90 minutes each time. I wondered how 4 man hours could go down to 1 1/2. I started noticing things that didn't get done. One time the steps weren't vacuumed, another time yellow spots were left on the floor in front of the toilet (ugh, men). She obviously wasn't closing the doors to clean behind them, because lint, roly-poly bugs, etc. were collecting there. In the entire year, most of my window sills and sashes were never touched, and my blinds were dusted about half the time. The final straw: Since the same person had been coming for several months, I gave her a tip at Christmas. She never acknowledged it or said "thank you." I finally decided to go with a different company, which does a much better job, cleans more surfaces, and does it for a lot less per month. On a positive note, the office person who answers the phone and schedules the appointments is very friendly and great at returning phone calls. She is a definite bright spot.
