I simply cannot say enough about the services of Mr. Malone and his company.  From the very first phone call to final unloading all services were professional, efficient and punctual.  All of his personnel were delightful to work with and made this a smooth transition.  We particularly appreciated his ability to be flexible as our timetable kept changing on both ends of the move.  Mr. Malone is a "hands on" owner and that is reflected in the quality of services we received.

Our complicated and confusing moving project went so much more smoothly than we ever dreamed it could.  Mr. Malone was extremely sensitive to our situation and was very careful to be sure he knew which pieces went to which state.  His wonderfully caring personality and charming sense of humor made a difficult task much more enjoyable for us.  His employees (including his lovely daughter) helped pack our belongings in Lexington, and then his employee, Otis, joined him on a trip to North Carolina in February and then on another adventure to Florida in March.  After packing up the Florida house, they stopped to deliver items in North Carolina, made two different deliveries in Virginia, and then returned to Kentucky for the fourth delivery!  Throughout the entire job, they stayed calm, pleasant, and funny!  Not a single item was broken (they even repaired a table that we hadn't known was broken!) or taken to the wrong place.  Truly incredible!  I feel like Mr. Malone and Otis know our family and we know them.  Pricing was very fair.  They deliver a wonderful service.  We will definitely call them again for future moving needs.

The move went smoothly. We had used John Malone before but he is now only going to do the long distance moves and the local business will be handled by other family members.

The experience was perfect (if this kind of move can be described as perfect) from start to finish. The packers were polite and extremely professional (I have about two dozen boxes left to unpack and, so far, nothing is broken). The same men who emptied my house in Kentucky were the ones who brought it into my house in North Carolina. (John always uses his own crew and does not pick up casual labor at the destination.) They put everything where I wanted it, and a few times that involved moving something already taken upstairs back down. And they did it with a smile. John Malone was where he said he would be at the time he said he would be there. I also threw a curve ten days before the move by asking to ship a car on the truck, when I had previously said it was not going with us. He rearranged his truck schedule to provide a bigger truck, gave me the quote for adding the car to the load, and ended up by charging me less than 25% of what he said that charge would be. When I made my last move, which was within Lexington, 14 years ago, I vowed I would never move again unless John Malone could move me. I haven't changed my mind. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

We used Malone Moving and Storage based upon a recommendation. They exceeded our expectations. John came to our home, walked through as we discussed what we would and would not be taking and then sent a quote the next day. Our house was 3,500 square feet with a large basement storage area. At the time we had sold our home but had not found a new one so we were going to leave behind some large pieces. However, two weeks later we purchased a new home located an hour away and called John (owner) to schedule a delivery date and add items such as a grand piano, large oversized bedroom suit and all of our clothing. We thought we might have to store our belongings so we had planned on transporting our own clothing. He said and quot;no problemand quot; and even stood by his original quote. We were quite surprised but thrilled that it would not cost anything additional. They came in and packed one day, loaded the next and delivered two days later after we closed on the new home. It went so smoothly. They were very careful with the furniture, walls, floors, doors... We have unpacked about 95% of the boxes and not one thing was broken. In addition, we have a huge armoire that would not go through the doorway to our master bedroom. John took off the legs (we had no idea they were removable) and they got it into the room. John returned the next day, as he was coming back through our town, and added long screws in the bottom and put the legs back on. They had been glued and stapled so John made the piece of furniture better than before. John also put the Grand Piano back together like a pro. He and one of the guys placed an extremely heavy floral vase up on a niche near the ceiling while both were standing on ladders. It was unbelievable. His whole crew was amazing, friendly and professional. We would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone. If we ever move again, we will call Malone Moving and Storage.

I read all the reviews before picking a moving company. I had to move twice in a month. Malones was not available on the first leg so I used Peavlers. I was going to use them again on the second leg, but Mr. Peavler fell off the truck and their reschedule date did not work with ours. So I called John Malone and he could do the move in the time frame we wanted. I was very appreciative that he could do it on such short notice. But that is where the appreciation ends.

On the day of the move, no one showed up at the time I was given. I called and Mr. Malone stated he looked at the wrong calendar and would be over in about 2 hours and could do the move in between another one. I was still OK with that.
So when they arrived at the house they had 4 men(including Mr. Malone). I left my husband in charge and went to the new house to prepare. I assumed everything went smoothly.

When they arrived at the new house, they were working so quickly that they were not paying attention to the walls or the floors we just recently had redone. The men kept complaining about how heavy things were and repeatedly asked me what I had in the drawers. When I told them nothing and showed them, they still couldnt believe how heavy it was. No mind you my husband and I have moved every piece of furniture in our home at one time or another. They had to stop repeatedly on the wood stairs and would hit the wall and I noticed after they left that they had put dents in the wood stairs from setting it down so hard. Mr. Malone was no better, he was rushing without any regard for the care of our things. The four men that were here were about the weakest and most complaining that I have ever witnessed. They was no comparison to the 3 men that Mr. Peavler used, quality non complaing hard workers.


I even moved some of the items off the truck myself in fear they would damage them. All of my items had dirt and leaves on them from where they did not clean out the truck prior to loading my things. All in all it was a very unprofessional experience.
Some of the comments made by Mr. Malone at the end confirmed the unprofessional attitude of his business. He did apologize for being late, but then commented how he was planning on this being an easy day. (As if my move inconvenienced him) Not my fault his scheduling was wrong.

After the move I went back to the other house and noticed that they had damaged a couple of the shades on my side doors when they moved out the washer and dryer. I mentioned this to my husband and commented on how fast and crazy they were moving and just throwing things here and there. I understand that they were not planning on moving my things that day because of the schedule mix-up on Mr. Malones part. But that does not justify rushing and damaging my goods. Nothing was over the top damaged, but I am a person who pays attention to detail. And a persons business in my opionion should always be judged in the details. Isnt that what we expect when we pay the bill?

I know he recieved alot of good reviews on here, but in my recommendation he is more interested in his international moves and finds the local ones a nuissance. If you want the Better movers, go with T.Peavler out of Harrodsburg. Class Act!!!

Every time I contacted them they were always there. They stuck with their quote and there were no other surprises. There were no scratches on the wall. The owner, John, was involved with the whole move and I was really impressed with this.

In almost 7 decades of moving experiences (none of them painless until Malone Moving), we dreaded the inevitable horror story that major moves usually are. What a surprise was waiting for us. John Malone came to our home to do the estimate the day after we called. He and his staff did everything exactly as described and planned, exactly on time, exactly the same price quoted with exactly the same attention to detail and professionalism that one always hopes for, but practically never gets...particularly with a moving company. Wow! Do yourself a favor if you're moving....call Malone Moving. You'll be saving yourself a lot of headaches.

It is a local family-run moving business, so I felt like I knew the people after I was through with the work. I think the actual movers have been working for them a very long time; that says a lot for a company relationship, especially in a business like this where the work is very hard. I feel like they take extra care and my things are safe. They moved me twice in a one-year period and stored stuff in between. I had them move my elderly mother and elderly aunt as well. Mr. Malone will personally come and fix something if it is broken. He stands behind his work for sure. They are the people to go to if I need to move around here. I would rate them highly and would definitely recommend them to others.

We had a good experience with John, Kelly, and the rest of the team. Kelly was very patient as we made arrangements for the move and did a great job of staying in touch with us until move day. On delivery day, we had some concern about how a piece of furniture was being moved but John noticed that it hadn't been done properly by his guys and addressed the situation and corrected it. On the receiving end, I would say 99% of boxes got to the right room. A few days after the move, we noticed that our treadmill wasn't working anymore. We called Kelly and without hesitation she had us arrange for it to be fixed at Malone's expense. We were very impressed at that level of customer service. We would use them again for a interstate move.

They did the best move we’ve ever had. They have been excellent each time we've had to use them. They are professional and get things done when they say they will. Our things were well taken care of and didn't come back with scratches. They are an excellent moving company. The price has been very reasonable. We would absolutely use them again.

Excellent customer service from Mr. Malone and his team. Very careful with floors/doorways/walls. Price was great for all the work they did (required two trips and took approximately 9 hrs).

Excellent! I personally would never use anyone else after my two experiences with Malone Moving and Storage. They were always prompt, with respectful and positive employees. I can't say enough about Malone Moving.
