1. Pretended to help on phone, telling me to look for a 'restart' button on the outdoor unit. When I asked where this button was after he was here, he didn't have an answer. 2. Pretended that the capacitor had already been replaced so my compressor is going bad, but has a special 'kicker' to revive it. I assured him that I've lived here for eight years and never had trouble with the outdoor unit before. 3. This 'kicker' is simply the replacement capacitor, but instead of removing the bad capacitor and mounting the replacement, the left the old capacitor there and swapped the electrical leads, the replacement capacitor loose on top in the tray. This was simply laziness and part of his play on the deception. 4. When he put his multimeter on the old capacitor to test it, it read zero (dead) but I was watching and he didn't want me to see, instead he wanted me to believe that the capacitor was good (and the compressor was dying) so he kept changing the range selector on his meter to make the numbers flutter. 5. The replacement capacitor he stuffed in wasn't even new, but he itemized it for $45 and another $85 for 10 minutes of labor plus driving time. The price isn't a deal breaker in the end, I know everyone wants to maximize profit. 6. He tore the weatherproofing off of the wire entry point to the compressor unit, maybe to compromise it with moisture to cause internal corrosion. 7. He ended by drumming up a complete HVAC replacement that he could do for me for 4-5k. = In short, this man did not say or do one single thing honestly. Everything he said and did was part of his deception. I haven't met such a deceitful person in years. I don't say or write such things lightly.
