I've had Insight internet for years and years. Time Warner purchased and is horrible. Our internet service went out in the area for a day. When we called to complain, there was a general message stating it was out. We finally got in touch with a rep who said it hadn't been out (even though we obviously knew it had). I spent 2 days calling and talking with techs who obviously have no more than a GED. They definitely do NOT have actual IT people working in their tech dept. But I did have a gentleman named Ron from India who spoke to me like I was an idiot. Asking me if I knew what the modem looked like, if I could walk over to it, do you see it, are you sure you know what it looks like? I finally freaked out...I only have a masters degree and work for a Fortune 200 company in electronic media... Then he stopped trying to sell me a new router and apologize and surprisingly couldn't get a service signal even when the laptop was plugged into ethernet...yeah, it was the service just as I had said for 2 days...I went through 3 tech people before someone was able to get me back on line. Not back to the speed I was paying for but able to at least get back online. I was suppose to receive a credit on my bill. The bill came today and instead of a credit, they actually charged me for using their modem...something Ron from India had me do because he couldn't figure out what the problem was and was desperate to try anything. Especially after I called him out on his education and experience after putting up with 2 hours of his bull and condescending remarks. Guess what TW, a lot of us know what we are talking about, have educations, and realize your "tech" people are idiots...I would recommend you train them but since your service is crap, you might want to fix that first. And you might not want to charge people for things your IT people have consumers try because your service flat out isn't working!!
I will be cancelling my service this evening and God help the person that receives my phone call and asks me why!!

Since Time Warner has taken over Insight actual service has been horrible. Not the employees, the service. Everyday get service interruptions. Never an issue until now. Is it time to change providers?

I called them to see why I owed them such a fee. They stated that the equipment has been returned and that it was a mistake and should not have been charged. They took the money out the same day I returned the equipment. I have yet to get a refund check. When I call they state the check has already been sent, then they say oh no it has not been sent. This week (7/8/2013) I am supposed to receive the check fianlly. I received great service from Insight Communications, but now that Time Warner took over Insight, I have had a terrible experience.

We have been using them for more than five years. I like the fact that I very rarely have any problems with the cable or the internet. It is very reliable and fast. Their price is high though, and it gets higher every year. We do not have a choice in Lexington. There is only one internet and cable service provider here other than satellite. They have no competition. They need some competition. Basically, this is a monopoly, and I do not know why it is allowed to continue. I do not know anybody who is really happy with them. This is what we have to have because we do not want satellite.

I used to pay $50/month for 10MB/s Internet alone, but the signal was crap and the modem ALWAYS needed restarting. As an apology in the buy-out by time Warner, they offered us 20MB/s plus phone for $30/month. Our signal has been even more crappy! Perhaps the infrasucture sucks in Chevy Chase/Montclair, but shape up or get ditched!!!!!!!

As an extra indicator of quality, the technician they sent was forced to wait on hold for 45 minutes TWICE(!!!!!!) to clear our old MAC address. No priority line for your own service people... Pathetic.

My experience with them has been great.  I haven't had any problems.  I'm very happy with the price I pay for this service.  They are professional and responsive.  My phone service went out one time when it was raining.  They could only come fix it when it wasn't raining.

We've been happy with them.  The complaint that we have with them is that, they run these packages constantly where you bundle your phone into it as well.  We wanted to do that but they were unmoving as far as pricing.  We just felt like, if they really wanted our business they would worked with us more because we've been very loyal customers.  We pay on time and all those kinds of things.  If we were going to register any kind of a complaint about Insight, it's their inflexibility and rewarding good customers.  So many places do now in this economy and it's to do benefit.  They are also providing service for our son right now.  As far as their service, we are satisfied with them.

We just switched to Insight Communications on 8th of this month.  So far I've been very pleased with internet service but the picture quality in the high definition and the channel selections are disappointing.

In March, called to discuss Insight's move of channels to digital tier from analog. Ended up negotiating an upgrade to digital select package from analog with no rate increase. I was considering switching to satellite service, but with the new package, I am staying with the local company. Last November, cable reception had become fuzzy. Insight was very responsive and prompt and sent techs out multiple times at no charge until the problem was fixed.

Insight set us up with DSL cable service within two days of my first call. The service has been terrific. Unlike previous internet providers I have used, Insight rarely has network outages. The couple of times I have had a problem, the service representative has responded professionally and quickly to my calls. In each case, the problem was fixed within a few hours. It's also very easy for me to have all three services (cable, phone, internet) handled by one company.
