Elite did a fabulous job, one trip did the trick! It's been a week now and we have not noticed any return of ants. This is one of the few places I called who actually had a receptionist pick up the phone and I didn't have to leave a message to make an appointment. In addition it was 110$ LESS than one visit from Orkin. I would recommend Elite to anyone in the Lexington area ( we live in Georgetown )

The first technician came out and arrived early. Very nice gentleman. He did a great job of finding and removing the birds from the attic and I thought everything was fine. The next day I began to hear that all familiar sound of chirping again and I called the company back to let them know that some birds were still in the attic. I was hoping the same guy would come back, but another guy showed up; who went back into the attic but did not remove the remaining birds, which left me a bit disappointed since I had been dealing with this for several days. Another thing that baffled me was the fact that when the birds were removed no measures were taken to prevent them from returning. I was told that they would contact at a later time with a price to cover the entry points. Which meant they would have free reign of the attic until then. I never received a follow up so I went ahead and covered them myself.

Based on the conversation in person with the inspector we had asked for a written report to be shared. We were of the understanding we were in agreement that the nests needed to be removed. We waited for the report (which was promised by the next day). We did not receive the report but within 2 days we had a bill. I called in and let them know I did not have a report and was not excited to pay for a service that was not complete (inspection AND report). It was clear they wanted payment first. I gave them my credit card information and paid the bill and the report appeared in my email later in the afternoon.
The report did not cover the details of what had been discussed with us. I called in and spoke to the owner. She agreed that more should have been written and said it would be addressed and I would have a new report on Friday.
Friday night - no report. I called in before they closed, introduced myself first to be sure it was the owner I speaking with (she has a very distinctive voice). I was placed on hold - and left there for a full 10 minutes before I hung up.
We have a very serious issue with wasps at this time. We have always been pleased with the professionalism and the thorough inspection and covering of the house. We live out in an area where we expect bugs and rodents so until something is dangerous we do not normally request additional service. We are seeing many wasps a day in our home and we have a toddler. Scary enough for one of us to be stung but horrific to think of her being stung.
Our plan had been to get the report and share the information with the property owners and request immediate service. After the runaround I received and then being placed on hold by someone who sounded just like the owner I sent an email explaining that I was terminating any additionally scheduled monthly services and would find a new exterminator that could be efficient but also have a high regard for customer service.
I recommend Elite if you need simple work done (monthly pest control or setting out mouse poison). If you need customer service and your family safety to be of a utmost importance this may not be the company for you.

We brought home a Great Dane puppy that
apparently had fleas from the breeder. It didn’t take long and we
had fleas on our carpet throughout the house (1200) sq. We tried to control the
pests by bathing the dog in flea soap however by the time we noticed the fleas
made their self at home in the carpet. We did not notice how bad the problem
was until our children had small bumps showing up from bites. We called around
to find rates and was pleased that un-like Terminix and Orkin, Elite did not
require a “service plan” with monthly, quarterly, or annual rates. Upon our
call I was informed the process to expect as we has in the house and outside
sprayed. The tech did an excellent job and advised it should be a one treatment
deal, however a follow up treatment may be necessary at a discounted rate. To my
pleasure the problem was treated with one application, and any bug continued to
die for 3 months afterwards.

On the first visit, the technician left chemicals in the kitchen. Ants disappeared, but reappeared a couple of weeks later. I called Elite to request a follow-up and they sent the same technician a second time. This time, she removed switch covers (discovering a nest of ants) and placed chemicals in an exterior crack (likely where they were entering the apartment). The ants disappeared and have not come back.
It was only after the second treatment had been completed that the technician mentioned a follow-up fee. Had I known about additional follow-up fees, I would have weighed the pricing differently when I first processed quotes from companies. When I called to complain, I was told that the manager was the only person who could make the price adjustment and that she would contact me shortly. Months went by without any further response. Today (January 21, 2014, nine months after the first call), I received a call from a new manager (two weeks on the job) who threatened to turn over my $55 bill to a collections agency within ten days if I didn't pay the $55 bill for the follow-up visit.
When I explained my story, the manager first claimed and quot;I wasn't here then, so I wasn't the one who dropped the ball.and quot; She then insulted me by saying and quot;it is common knowledge that it takes time for eggs to hatch and there will almost always be a need for a follow-up treatment. And no company offers follow-up treatments for free.and quot; I'm no expert on insects, so I didn't know that follow-up appointments were almost always required. Furthermore, I've used another company for a different pest problem since then, and they included all follow-up treatments in the initial fee. Plus, they explained what kinds of follow-ups would most likely be necessary, so I knew exactly what to expect from the treatment process.
When I hire a company to do a job, I expect them to do it right the first time. Had the technician been as thorough the first time as she was the second time, I would not have needed a follow-up treatment. However, if follow-up treatments are commonplace, then I believe the pest company had an obligation to say, and quot; It's likely that you will need more than one treatment, and there will be a charge of ______ for all follow-ups.and quot; I can budget and plan for that.
After making my case and being threatened by the manager, I paid the bill by credit card today. I told the manager that I would never use their company again and that I would post my story here and anywhere else I can find someone to listen. She told me to and quot;go aheadand quot;.
I feel that Elite Pest Control acted unethically, and when confronted with their lack of communication, they insulted my intelligence and acted as if I should have known their prices and policies without them having to state them. This is unacceptable, and I will never use this company again, nor will I recommend them to anyone.

"First he did not speak to me. He spoke to my bookkeeper. Who is now gone. We always charge for followup service. Just like a Dr. plumber or HVAC any service related industry I am sorry my bookkeeper was less than professional. But we had sent several reminder notices that he could of responded to"

Have used company for over 10 years for spraying interior and exterior of home for bugs, insects, etc. Home is sprayed every other month and exterior twice a year. Never had any significant problems with company. If bugs were evident after spraying they returned next day and resprayed. Although we have not compared cost of other pest control companies lately, we have found Elite to be very price competitive.

This company was responsive, charged a very reasonable fee, showed up when they said they would, and did an excellent job under less than pleasant circumstance. The company service person was polite, good natured, and exhibited the type of presence any company would hope to have their employees show as representatives of their company. I was exceptionally pleased with the work - would call them again and will recommend them to others.
In contrast three other companies contacted charged up to $500, or would not give a price except to say it would vary by $100 until they had seen what a dead racoon looked like. Wow.

At the initial appointment, Elite showed up to extract birds, which at this point they were already gone but they took out the nest. They did not bring a ladder to patch the hole on the outside of the house so had make another appointment. Instead of coming back the next day, they scheduled us for four days out and the birds returned to build another nest in the mean time. At the next scheduled appointment, they showed up two hours after the appointment time to tell me it is supposed to rain so they would come back. I had to call and schedule another appointment with them, again, instead of them coming back the next day. At the next appointment, they called right at the appointment time to say it was raining and they would have to reschedule. At this time, it was sprinkling at my house and it lasted about 20 minutes. So, another appointment was made for 11:30 in the morning. I called the office with they still were not here by 1:00. Lori, who takes calls and appointments, says it's not her fault they are late because she doesn't control the workers and she just got back from lunch so she would have to check it out and call me back. By 3:00 I had not heard back from her so I had to call her again! She continued to be rude and tell me how it wasn't her fault but said she dispatched a worker and I was the first priority and a worker was on his way. Well...a worker finally showed up at 6:00 and of course it was raining. I told him all that we had been through with this company so he went ahead and did the work in the rain. He sprayed a great amount of insulation-stuff on both sides where there were nickel sized holes. He came back after the weekend to shave it down. He left such a MESS and the front of our house now has big yellow snake-looking messes on both sides of the eaves. It's embarrassing and I can't believe after all they put us through that this was the way the work was left. To top it all off, we got a bill in the mail pronto....for $50 over the price we were given. I honestly don't think they deserve a dime. In fact, the owner should come look at my house and then tell me how much I owe. We will NEVER use their services again and I'm so glad to share this story with others so they may not have this nightmare as well.

We had used Elite Pest Control the year before and had made repairs and improvements to keep animals out of the house. While we were having plumbing work done in the crawl space, two ground hogs ran out onto the lawn and ran to the creek across the road. We were concerned that they may have been living under the house so we called Elite to check for animals again and to repeat the mouse treatment. The man who came was very knowledgeable about the animals in our area and where we would most likely find them. He also let us know which ones to be concerned about and which ones to leave alone. He determined that no animals were living in the crawl space or attic and re-did the mouse treatment. We were very happy with the service we received and will continue to use them.

We were very happy with the inspection. It doesn't make sense to treat for pests without doing all you can to keep them out first.

They took forever to show what receipts and billings they had. The got a court judgement without our side being heard. Then extorted us, not giving us credit for some payments and never proving their double billing of us, was signed off by a different client of theirs

"MEMBER IS ANGRY BECAUSE WE HAD TO TAKE HIM TO COURT FOR PAYMENT OF HIS BILLS. THE RECEIPTS HE SHOWED WE SHOWED HIM WHERE THEY WERE APPLIED. HIS MANAGER WAS IN COURT AND WAS TOLD SHE NEEDED A LAWYER. SHE WENT BACK TO COURT WITHOUT ONE. NO ONE WAS UNFAIR TO MEMBER. WE STRIVE TO SATISFY OUR CUSTOMERS, BUT WE DO WANT PAID FOR OUR SERVICES. MEMBER I THINK YOU KNOW WHICH ONE OF US DESERVES THE F."

They are great. We have a yearly contract with them for the termites. You can only get the contract if you buy an existing house with the contract or already have an existing contract. They are very efficient, punctual and knowledgeable. The guys that come out vary. We have no idea on how their prices compare to everybody else.

Elite Pest Control was amateurish and not very effective. I think they might be better with bugs, but for animal removal, not good. They set one trap, which didn't catch anything but cost $180. Then they climbed up a ladder and tried to improvise blocking the access hole used by the animal by wedging some hardware cloth over the top, for an additional $180. This was ineffective and mostly just fell out. When called to fix the problem, they did come back and this time they sprayed a large amount of hardening foam into the hole to block it permanently. The foam seems to have worked, but make a big mess, and looks very ugly on the roof. They didn't come back to trim off the extra extruded foam hang down from the roof, or to put a fresh piece of trim over the foamed-out hole. Bottom line: worked, but worked ugly and not on the first try. Will not be using EPC again, and cannot recommend. Friendly guys on the truck though.

I called Elite Pest Control on a referral from my Real Estate Agent for an inspection of a house I am planning to purchase. When I first called, the woman answering the phone sounded like she just woke up (she may not have been feeling well). I gave her my phone number, name and property address. She asked other questions regarding the real estate inspection (that I couldn't answer - I gave her my RE Agent's contact info) and she said she would get back to me. I didn't hear from her after a couple of days so I called again (I believe it was on a Thursday). They couldn't make an appointment for Friday and I asked about Saturday - she said they and quot;don't work weekendsand quot;. Fair enough - most bug people probably don't work weekends. So I made the appointment for Monday morning at 9 am. Their home pest inspector showed up on time and did a thorough examination of the home for over an hour (the home is only 8 years old, but had been a neglected foreclosure). There were some carpenter ants at an outside door that leaked water and he provided an estimate for treating the ants with Boric Acid powder for around $400 or so (included drilling a couple of holes in the inside walls). There was also a ground hog digging under the cement steps and driveway. He estimated around $180.00 to remove the ground hog (humanely), while the process involves paperwork required by the state of KY (for wildlife relocation). I don't believe the cost is unreasonable given the time, effort and materials (note: a groundhog trap costs about $49.00 at Tractor Supply and Orthoboric Acid powder in a squeeze bottle costs around $4.00 at Lowe's).
Overall, I have to say they did the job well that they were hired to do, and at a very reasonable price. While I am familiar with trapping pesky critters, I plan to borrow a friend's trap and take the rather large groundhog to a friend's farm where he will be happier (for most folks, this IS a nuisance and you don't want the groundhog undermining your driveway). Meantime, I will be treating the carpenter ants per his recommendations and will do much of the carpentry repairs myself (I give him an A++ for explaining exactly what had to be done for the ants). If I'm not successful with the carpenter ants, I will call Elite Pest Control for a visit.

The individual giving me the estimate and the treatment was about 30-40 minutes late both times. Although I'm not sure that maybe we discussed two different appointment times. The entire treatment process took about 3 hrs and they drilled holes in the walk way (which they then filled up) and in the deck (but they are very small). Try to schedule your treatment on a non rain in the forecast day. Also make sure that they have complete access to the outside of the house around the foundation because they will dig a trench, which they fill in, for their chemical treatment. Be sure to ask the fellow treating the property exactly what chemical they are using and how long it lasts and whether or not it is toxic to pets. I don't have any pets so I didn't ask this question. Also I'm not sure what happens if there are heavy rains. I really can't tell yet if the treatment has worked because it has been such a short time and I'm not really sure what I should be looking for in the short term anyway. Overall though I think they are a quality group and came with a couple of recommendations from my neighbors.
