EHI did a nice job AND were very easy to work with. Highly proficient and ethical in all aspects. They worked from a basic plan, and they delivered it on time and under budget. Scott Book always kept us in the loop -- we never had to wait more than 24 hours to hear back from him. His crews were courteous, knowledgeable, and did a good job cleaning up the site at the end of the day. We had a nearby tree that we asked him to work around, and it was never damaged in any way, despite being very close to the building. Also, we had some problems with the gutters after we had paid him in full, and he came back twice to make sure they were working correctly. His prices are neither the lowest nor the highest, but that just means he pays his people decently and does the job right.
.The foundation work was outstanding. EHI raised the floor of the garage with footers and gravel so that it was higher than the old dirt floor had been. The outstanding cement company and their workers created a level floor that is uncracked to this day. The walls of cement block were perfectly done with window and door in the exact right place. The roof, framing, garage doors were expertly installed. The garage is tight. There are NO bugs or water incursions. It is in fact high and dry.
The only problem was the later pouring of the skirt outside the garage. The cement was at the later end of its pouring life. After a month or so some very small blemished showed up. Scott had someone smooth out the blemishes.
I have recommend Scott Book and Economy to others.

The problem I do have is I asked that the garage not be lower than the road so that when I did replaced the driveway the water would not roll down the driveway to the garage which means there should have been more grading to achieve that. I did not have them do the driveway at the time because I did not have the money but since then I had a concrete two lane drive put in and because the garage sits lower than the road the driveway runs down hill to the garage from the road. In some of the heavy rains we have had there has been water up to the garage door but luckily my yard drains quickly.
Also the patio that was poured slopes to the garage and not away from it so during rain when i exit the garage from the car i have to jump over the water lying up against the garage. I mentioned this at the time and the solution suggested was to cut a line in the cement from the exit door then away to the edge of the cement. This was not a good solution as it plugs up every other day and the water sits up against the garage until it slowly drains off. I should have insisted it be re-done and they did not offer to fix it the way it should have been. The person doing the cement (which they contracted out) finished it off slanting towards the garage instead of away.
I would use them again but I would insist if something is done wrong that it be fixed permanently and not just a temporary fix.
