Outstanding results on all counts -- Bill and his highly professional staff listened thoughtfully to my various problems and questions. Lawn mower repair and tune up and sharpening was done promptly even though it was during their busy season; expert advice on appropriate tools for difficult gardening and maintenance jobs. Good suggestions on products for non toxic gardening, pest control, insect control, weed control. A+ customer service. I had no idea where to go to get my lawn mower worked on. It was a craigslist buy and it went bust on me at the worst possible minute, on a weekend. The folks at Chevy Chase Hardware took it in or short notice and got back to me within a few days with a full report, at no cost to me.
What impressed me the most was that after they determined that the cost of repairing the mower was going to exceed the price of what I paid for it, they called me before proceeding. They did not charge me for any of the diagnostic work they had used to determine the various issues.
I did not know that such attention to detail, customer care and satisfaction like this existed any more. They were honest, prompt, and courteous. They were also understanding and were willing to work with me and my budget if I had decided to keep the mower (which I did not).
These are good people and a great business. Rest assured, I will be going back to them for all my future lawn mower and hardware needs.

We couldn't be more pleased with the work on our lawnmower performed by Chevy Chase Hardware. For just a little over $100, we practically got a new lawnmower! Not only was the work done in a professional manner, it only took about a week to get the mower back - and right in peak mowing season! My husband says that now our lawnmower works better than it has in years. In years past, we had taken our lawn equipment to another repair company and had to wait for weeks and weeks to get it back and even then, repairs weren't always done correctly. Chevy Chase Hardware did a great job!!

They do other lawn mower repair but I have not had them do it. I have a bias in favor of small locally owned businesses when I can find them to do the job so that is why I like this company. They provide good personal attention. I walk in the door and they greet me; I ask a question and they take me to the section of the hardware store that has what I am looking for. Their price struck me as reasonable.
