All personnel, including Sarah, Jade, Aaron, and Christian were professional and informative throughout the process of selecting a roofer. The company worked with us to install on a date that was convenient for us. The tear off, installation and clean up was performed all in a matter of hours. We were very pleased with our choice.
Description of Work: Services provided were free roof and chimney inspection, free estimate, installation of new chimney cap, tear off of existing shingles and vents, replaced box vents with ridge vent, painted stack vent to complement new roof shingles, installed drip strips and GAF/Timberline/Lifetime shingles.

The General Manager first came out and did a thorough inspection of my roof with out charge. He was very professional and on time and called in advance of the appointment. He found the leak was not roof related and likely due to to the HVAC lines in my attic. I was really impressed that he did not charge me for a repair I did not need! He informed me my roof was in excellent condition and confirmed that my gutters were very clogged with leaves and debris and gave me a written estimate. He also gave me 5% off the estimate for being a Angie's List Member. I found him to be very thorough, polite and professional and agreed to have Bone Dry Roofing to repair my gutters. The repairman came as schedule a week later and did a very professional job. I would definitely recomend this roofing company and would use again without hesitation.
Description of Work: I had what I thought was a roof leak over the living room, and my gutters desperately need a cleaning so I called Bone Dry Roofing based on Angies List ratings.

I spent several weeks away from my home in fall/winter of 2011. When I was back home for extended period of time, I noticed shingles had blown off into my yard. I c alled bone dry to come out and check the roof. It took them a week or so to come out due to everyone being in training. They came out and gave me an estimate on the spot. They did not try to sell me a new roof although it was of an age that they could have. They even said it was in pretty good shape. It was scheduled to rain the next day so the gentleman doing the estimate even did a temporary repair at no extra cost. They came back within a couple weeks and did the repair. They finished in one afternoon and even though it took longer than expected I was charged only the initial estimate. The next day I noticed what looked like debris in the gutter and they came back out and checked it out. I also received a follow-up call to make sure the repair was holdin
Description of Work: They checked my roof and repaired it. There was an actual hole all the way through with rotted wood beneath. They removed 3-4 foot section of shingles and replaced the rotted wood beneath. They then put shingles, etc back, matching the shingles to my old ones.

They were quick at coming out but then they dragged their feet on getting the job done. They were suppose to clean my gutters but they didn't clean them. I did like the fact that they did not try selling me a whole new roof. I would not use their services in the future.

They removed shingles, and the damaged decking. Then they replaced the decking and installed new shingles. I thought their pricing was reasonable, and they were honest. It took more time than I was anticipating for them to start the job, after we OK'd the estimate.

I moved into my new home expecting my chimney to only need a sweeping before the fireplace could be used... boy was I wrong! I have an older fireplace insert (1981) and my chimney does not have a stainless steel liner as is fairly standard now. The first company I called to sweep the chimney, said that they were not able to remove the insert because of a warped lintel and proceeded to tell me that the entire insert would need to be destroyed in order to remove it. They told me that my chimney was unsafe to use without a liner and then gave me a quote for $13,500 to fix the whole shebang... $6500 for the chimney and $7000 to install a new insert, complete with liner. I was prepared to live with no fireplace for the next 10 years until I contacted Bone Dry to have them quote the external chimney repair (I didn't know that they worked with inserts). Not only was their quote for that less than 1/3 of the previous quote, but they did a great job! As for the insert, Bone Dry was able to remove it easily. After removing the insert, they swept the chimney and informed me that the chimney would be fine for use without the stainless steel liner because the inside of the chimney was in good condition and had been parged when it was constructed. I will probably have them install a liner a little further down the road when I don't have so many new house surprises to take care of though. They removed the old, warped lintel for me and replaced it. They also chiseled out some cracked mortar, associated with the warped lintel and tuck pointed to repair it. I was very happy with their work on the intricate brick work on my fireplace. They were able to match the old mortar very well, so that the repair is barely noticeable. Before replacing the wood stove, they freshly parged the firebox. Bone Dry's pricing was very reasonable, and I was very happy that they were able to provide an economical solution to fix my fireplace. I will be calling them in the future for all my chimney sweeping needs and further down the line for a new insert and liner when I need one.
Description of Work: Complete tear down and rebuild of chimney to the roof line ($1900). Removal of wood stove insert, chimney sweep, parged firebox, removal and replacement of warped lintel and tuck pointing of some cracked masonry on fireplace ($1000).

I couldn't be more pleased with my experience with Jade Marsh and Bone Dry Roofing. I was able to get an estimate very quickly and the company was very responsive and easy to contact. Though I was at work while the measurements were taken and the estimate was written out, Jade left me a folder with his detailed estimate as well as other information about their products and company. I called their office with some questions and Jade called me back the very same evening and answered all of my questions. The estimate was already the best one I had received, and in addition they agreed to not only give me their 5% winter discount but also the $200 Angie's list discount. Many companies won't combine their discounts so this was a nice surprise. I was able to receive an updated estimate including the discounts the very same day, and I simply had to sign and email it back to them. The work was set to be done the following week, but Jade contacted me the next day and said that they could do the work the very next day. The supplies were already at my house when I got home that evening. They showed up on time at 8am as scheduled. I spoke with Jade who mentioned he had realized the day before that he had underestimated the amount of materials they would need when he did my estimate. Apparently my estimate was for a smaller amount of roof, but Jade admitted his mistake and said it was "on him" and he completed my roof without a hitch. I appreciated his honesty and professionalism in the error, and although I know this cut into his profit quite a bit, it was the right thing to do. I'll have no problem referring him to friends after how he handled this. The team got started on the work right away. They took good care to prop large pieces of plywood up against the house over all the windows to prevent any flying debris from damaging my windows, which I appreciated. In addition, they extended tarps all around the house to collect the debris as it was removed. The entire crew used appropriate safety equipment (harnesses, etc.). The tear off seemed to take up the first few hours of the day, but the roof was completely done by around 4:00 or so in the afternoon. The crew cleaned up nicely. I didn't see any trash around the home, and they used leaf blowers to collect smaller pieces. They even blew the leaves off the driveway where they didn't have to. When the work was done, Jade did a quick walk-around with me to make sure the work was satisfactory, which it definitely looked great! Overall, the experience greatly exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend everyone consider this company. I feel like they have honest people in charge, are experienced, and have a well-organized business. I look forward to having some work done on my chimney by their masonry division later this year.
Description of Work: They did a complete tear off of the old roof. A new roof was installed with a 25 year dimensional shingle. All flashing was completely replaced around the chimney, as well as total replacement of pipe flashing. Old roof vents were removed and a ridge vent was installed. A drip edge material was installed beneath the bottom edge of the shingles around the entirety of the house.

Overall, very impressed and would recommend/use again if needed. Only "issue" we had was a very minor one of communication. The estimator was from Cincinnati and sometimes didn't communicate with local crew before talking to us so we had an appt scheduled before he knew about it. Otherwise, good. Roof looks & functions great.
Description of Work: Bone Dry Roofing replaced our old roof with a new 3-D tab roof. Very professional from the estimate (thorough estimate provided where they walked through & looked in the attic as opposed to other companies that just did the estimate on their own time and sent something through the mail) through demo & installation of the roof. Finished the roof in 1 day with a big crew. Replaced a few sheets of plywood. Guaranteed work & will come out & reinspect in 10 years. They magnetted to check for nails after they finished but several nails have been found since (washed down with rain).

Overall it was a good experience. After inspecting the chimney, Christian LeBlanc did a great job of explaining the situation and the alternatives. I liked the fact that he offered a cheaper alternative as well as the rebuild that we elected to go with. I'm sure I could have found someone cheaper, but we had a great experience with Bone Dry Roofing when we needed a new roof a few years ago, so that made these guys my first choice. The work itself looks great, and everything appears to have been done exactly the way it was described to me beforehand. We have had a good amount of rain since the repair with no indication of water leakage. The negatives I experienced were a lack of communication between my signing the contract and the actual work, and a less than great clean up effort at the end of the job. Christian left the contract with me and said that I could fax it to the office once I decided which option I wanted to go with. I faxed it the day after he was here, but then heard nothing so I had to call the office a few days later to confirm that they had received the fax. Christian had estimated that they would be able to do the job on 10/26, but when I called to confirm the fax, the office staff told me it might be 10/19. I again heard nothing until I called Christian on 10/26 to find out if they were coming that day or not. He told me that it might be a few more days due to weather delays which I completely understood, but thought someone should call me with that information rather than me having to call to check. After that conversation, I again heard nothing until the morning of 10/31 when Joe called me to tell me he and his crew were on the way and would be here in a half hour. As for the clean up, they seemed to take great care in most areas, but completely forgot a patio area at the base of the chimney. I discovered that after they left and just cleaned it up myself. Not a huge deal. Because of the delays, Joe did offer to do a chimney cleaning at no charge, and I appreciated that. Again, it was a good experience overall and I would use these guys again if needed.
Description of Work: The top end of the chimney was rebuilt and recapped to correct water leakage. Tuckpointing and crack repair was also performed on an area of brick facade on the rear of the house.

I was extremely pleased with the work on the roof that received a new rubber roof--which is a specialty that few roofers can provide. However, the second roof was a disaster: the product applied for $900 turned out to be a product I could have applied myself for $35 per gallon. Worse, the repair to the facia and soffit actually created more holes than it fixed as a result of the vendor just cutting out the rotted areas--thereby loosening every other joint---and patching ONLY the hole. When I asked the vendor about the work, he explained their workers are told to ONLY DO what is written on the invoice so the worker didn't repair the new damage, even though he caused it. The most upsetting part of this, is that even though the estimator and I discussed the possibility of rotten wood in addition to the 3 original holes, he assured me it would be fixed: ie, the attitude was let's just do the minimum and board over it. PLUS, they did not return to correct the damage for 60 days. And then, there are still one huge hole and several smaller ones. Rubber roof "A". Repairs "F".

When we purchased the home in Dec 2010 the homeowners claimed to have had it fixed. The job was done incorrectly and we had a major water leak into the wall. Bone dry came out and showed us exactly what the issue was and was very honest about the quality of the previous work and why it was still leaking. They took pictures for us and made sure we understood what needed to be done and why. The repair roofer came out to fix it and was very courteous, professional, and cleaned up everything. He also took time to explain his work and repairs. I felt very informed and trusted them every step of the way. I would highly recommend them to a family member or friend and I would use them again if needed. They also inspected the rest of my roof and pointed out potential problem areas for us to keep an eye on. Their price was very competitive with other quotes we received. We have had no further leaks or problems in that area.

They did a great job. Jade came out and gave me an estimate immediately and in person, unlike the other company, which just sent an estimate in the mail with no explanation (and $2,000 higher). He called to follow-up the next week, which I appreciated. They suggested some masonry work through their masonry department, but I didn't feel strong-armed. (I did, however, wonder why a single worker up there for 2 hours would cost nearly $700 -- must have used some pretty expensive mortar.) The crew of 5 (or 4?) showed up at 8:30 and worked steadily until dark (about 7:30). They came back the next morning and finished up, despite rain in the forecast, and even worked after the rain started. They protected my windows with plywood and none of my landscaping suffered. They cleaned up immaculately. Jess came out a day later to finish up some stuff that couldn't be done in the rain (caulking a soffit) and explained my warranty in detail. You can pay online, which is really nice, too. Overall, I'm pretty pleased so far. I don't expect any problems with the new roof, but if there are any, I'm sure I'll get a good response.

I contacted Bone Dry for an estimate to install a new roof on my two story home several months ago. They came out and provided me with an estimate. The weather finally cooperated the first of October and the Bone Dry crew came out and installed my roof, new skylight and a solar attic fan, all in one day. They took excellent care in preparing my property for the work and then spent extra time cleaning my property when they finished the work. I give them an A+ from start to finish. DL, Lexington KY

.Noticed a wet spot on the garage ceiling after a heavy driving rain. Got a recommendation from our neighbor for a "Reliable Roofer" who turned out not to be so Reliable. After 2 weeks of being called and stood up we found Bone Dry on Angie's List. We gave them a call and Jade Marsh was scheduled to come out on the following Monday. It Rained on Monday so Sarah called and apologized and scheduled Jade to come out on Tuesday 9/27/2011. Jade was out on Tuesday and walked the roof and told us everything that needed to be done. He also wrote us up an estimate of how much it would cost. We let him know that we were waiting for the other roofer to come back out and we would let Jade know when he did. The following day the not so reliable roofer was suppose to come out for an estimate. Mr. Reliable didn't show up on Wednesday and no phone call was received from him until the following day. Friday (9/30/2011) we finally heard from the "Reliable Roofer". He walked the roof and basically told us what we already knew. Mr Reliable said he would e-mail us a quote the beginning of this week. Well to make a long story short we were tired of waiting for the first roofer so we went with Bone Dry, Gary Bretz showed up Thursday 10/6/2011 and did the repair. Gary replaced the Copper flashing around the dormer window, replaced the shingles around the flashing and sealed everything up quite nicely. It looks BETTER than it did when we bought the house. Jade Marsh, Sarah and Gary Bretz are 3 of the most professional, polite, knowledgeable, and just plain nice people you could ever come in contact with. If we ever need a full roof put on I know we'll be calling them. We also got to use the coupon on Angie's list with no problem. Oh and we are still waiting for the quote for the first company we called. Thank You Bone Dry. It was just a pleasure doing business with you.

Our experiences with Bone Dry started with the Roofing division. We initially spoke with Cody re concerns about our roof and leaks around the chimney (hoping flashing work could cure the problem). We also had concerns about the chipping and cracking of the chimney brick. Cody went above and beyond as far as we were concerned. After hearing from another roofer that we needed to replace the roof, Cody's opinion was that we should be able to get more life out of the roof. He was concerned about the condition of the chimney though. After coming off the roof, he climbed up in the attic to discuss ventilation and insulation and overall spent a good amount of time talking with us. At this point, there was no money on the table for his division and only an estimate possible from the masonry division yet he took the time to answer our questions and make some suggestions. Cody was very friendly and easy to talk to and at no point did I feel like he was a salesman but instead felt like he was giving us the benefit of his knowledge to help us know what to do to improve our house. After such a good experience with Cody, we decided to get an estimate from the Masonry division for our chimney problem. We weren't able to be there when Christian first came out but were given an analysis that fit other opinions we had received on the chimney. His suggestion was to replace the brick, the top section of the flue, the mortar cap, and redo the flashing because of the amount of water damage to the brick. We felt really confident in the knowledge of everyone we had talked to at Bone Dry and opted to go this route. A couple of days later, his crew showed up. The guys that came to do the work were not only courteous and professional, they were easy to talk to and seemed to enjoy their jobs. I believe Joe was the crew leader and he had another guy working with him inside (I'm terrible with names - but he was great also!). After the whole crew removed the (not small) wood stove, three guys headed up on the roof to begin the chimney tear down while the two stayed inside to get started with the chimney sweep. I'm not sure I've ever seen two more cheerful guys despite the mess of cleaning out a chimney. They did a good job of protecting the house from any mess, appeared to do a good job cleaning the chimney (by the looks of the amount of soot and grime that walked out of the house after climbing out of the fireplace!), and moved all the furniture back when they were done. They answered every question we had without missing a beat. Joe explained what the plan was on the roof (weather was an ongoing problem that day) and continued to monitor what was going on up there. Once they finished up inside they spent some time on the roof before they left. The guys tearing down the chimney stayed almost til dark trying to get as much done as possible. I believe they started rebuilding before they left - but they did such a good job of covering the work with tarps to keep any weather out, we couldn't really tell how far they got on the first day. I should also mention that before anyone left for the day, Christian showed up to look things over and make sure we were happy with everything. He wanted to take a look at things himself and explain a few things to us. The next day, Joe was there before we left for work and by the time we got home that afternoon the brickwork, flashing, and cap had been finished. They were out the next day to remove the framing from the mortar cap and will be back later to install the top mounted damper cap when it comes in (and I believe apply a sealant to the new work). The chimney looks great and they also did a great job on the clean up - you could hardly tell they'd been there at all. We would not hesitate to call Bone Dry back to do another job. In fact, we actually are now discussing some siding repair with Jade at Bone Dry. Another nice guy who seems to know what he?s talking about. Every single person we spoke with from Bone Dry were all very friendly yet still professional, we never felt anyone was trying to push us to spend money that we didn't need to, and everyone seemed very knowledgeable and concerned with doing the job correctly. I was worried that such a large company couldn't offer such a complete package but as far as I can tell, they are doing business the right way.

I liked them because they did my work. First of all, they did a repair work. Then I decided just to go ahead and have the whole thing done. I liked the company, and I liked the people that I worked with. I liked what they did for me. I would go back with them. The roof has been so far so good. I would recommend them to others. They were excellent. I worked with them because they seemed to have recognized my problem.

The originally projected date was august 26th, but christian called on Manday mroning, August 1st to see if we wanted them to start that day since they had a cancellation. Originally we signed on just to have the chimney removed, but when they got the chimney down to roof level, I thought it looked like a "dog with it's tail clipped" and asked if we could build it back, using the original bricks so that it would be a perfect match. They were able to accomplish this and ordered the cap which was shipped overnight from indianapolis. they worked until dark on Monday and got here early Tuesday morning to finish up. When they left, there was not atrace of debree left in the driveway and our chimney is now the envy of the neighborhood! thank you!!! Elaine Cook 314 Given Ave

Bone Dry seems to be a very large roofing company serving several cities in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Missouri. Within a few days of my call, a manager came out and did a very thorough inspection of the roof. He could not identify a definite cause of the leak but did identify several minor problems. He proposed repairs and gave me a price. Since there was no urgency, he gave me a date about a week later to perform the repairs. The repairman who came out seemed very competent and spent about two hours on the roof. These people came across as very professional. They seemed to be honest, and did not try to sell me something I did not need. They were prompt and cleaned everything up. So far, the leak seems to be fixed, but we have not had a downpour to provide an adequate test. My only reservation is that the price seemed very high for a couple hours work and little in the way of materials. On the other hand, if the problem is fixed and they are as professional as they came across, it is worth the price. I recommend this company very highly. However, it probably would be worth getting a couple estimates even for a minor repair.
